i just want to share this here ... ryzen 2700x with Aorus elite wifi x570 motherboard and a very challenging 32gb 16x2 dual rank red corsair vengeance v5.32 ( Hynix AFR ) 3200mhz cl16-18-18-18-36-54 xmp on alone DOES NOT BOOT ... but i booted it using some hints from Ryzen dram calculator .. first you have to find the right ohm ( 60 ohm for me ) for the gate to open the speed then the gate resistor things for RTT NOM WR and PARK (7 , 3 and 1 in my case) ... then i added my own spice with extra 0.03v to the recommended voltage for dram ( 1.38v ) and cpu was set to auto voltage ... viola !
next was to apply taiphoon burner extracted ram settings into ryzen dram calculator and then applied the safe setting ... now my ram runs at 3200 CL14-17-17-17-34 at 1.4v all day ( left it over 4hrs on memtest booted from usb and no errors thank god, then i undervolted the cpu and used PBO ) ..... i think that solved it for good for me ... hope this helps anyone out there

Yeah, we could really use some more coverage on how abysmal AMD's 5xxx series BIOS situation is. I remember it being a nuisance for 3xxx but this is a whole new low. On my 3600 I was running my RAM at 3600 mhz 16-18-18-20 1T effortless, just turned on XMP/DOCP and it went. I was lucky enough to get a 5900X recently and it's barely stable at 3200 mhz 18-20-20-20 2T at 1.375v and 1.1v SoC with the most recent beta BIOS (Asus TUF x570 Plus). Tons of people having these problems with all different motherboards. I thought AMD would have its shit together by now.

The problem with buying memory for Ryzen is knowing if it's fully compatible, not all listings state Ryzen Tuned, and some of those that dont mention it are compatible and others not.
The Corsair Vengeance memory I have has never let me enable XMP on Ryzen 1600x or 3700x niether B350 or X570, its 3200mhz but only runs at 2133, it's going on Ebay but finding another at the right price that's compatible is annoying, especially finding it in white.

For anyone willing to try it, I've found that XMP stability issues can often be resolved on AMD platforms by using Ryzen DRAM Calc and Thaiphoon burner to run up a custom Safe profile, BUT setting the target DRAM frequency in the calculator a 200-400mhz above where I'm actually planning on setting it, thus generating looser timings automatically that still make sense.

The entire time since I've gotten my b450 board and been running pure AMD GPU's I've never been asked to fill a survey from Steam whereas before that when running a Z87 intel system with Nvidia GPU's I've been asked several times per system config. Now I'm not saying this is on purpose cause it's not but it's why I don't hold any stock to steam numbers.

PC gaming hardware has come to a point that we are getting so many fps and 10% difference doesnt matter, people are buying AMD mostly because of core counts advantages and price until the 5000 series.
another reason is of course to send a message to Intel that consumers are not happy being milked over the past decade

Keeping in mind alot of those 1660/1660ti/2060 even 2080's gpu's are also in alot of Laptops from the past two years which also get counted....food for thought. It will be interesting to see those numbers again this time next year. That is if its not all of a sudden not interesting anymore. LOL

Steam hardware survey is sooo garbage. Changed my pc hardware this past year and I havent been asked for over8 months to fill in the survey. Moreover it says 8% of the pop uses a DX 8 video card, yea lol no. Also it seems to target and take data from steam installed on childrens moms laptops.

Genuinely interested in intel revitalizing it's Atom line. Ultra-Low powered quad or even 6 core budget devices would be great for HTPC or as tiny emulation machines. So long as they go with their home grown igpu solution instead of licensing mystery black box integrated graphics from PowerVR.
