I know this might be nit picking, but as someone who lives in Europe in a country that is part of the EU (Belgium), I want to point out that Europe and The European Union are not the same. Europe is a continent whereas the European Union is a political body.
So the news of Europe looking into semi-conductors being manufactured in Europe, they mean in member countries of the European Union.
I just wanted to add this clarification as Europe and the EU are being used in the same sentence by a lot of people to mean the same thing, but they are not the same.

The cat angel info really touched me, our rescue Prince (rescued when he was about 10 weeks old, he's now nearly 4) a gorgeous big (5kg) black cat recently left our lives. We've been looking everywhere put posters up walked the entire village, put baited traps out (humane cat capture ones of course) & I'm now reaching the conclusion that he's probably been killed somewhere. I'm heartbroken.
So seeing the wonderful news & positivity about cat angels & knowing that I'm in such amazing company here means a lot. A HUGE well done to everyone concerned.

My girlfriend is an avid cat lover, while I am reluctant. It's not because I dislike felines, but sadly I am allergic. Her and I started dating around the time of the CatAngles PC build, and while she is much less interested in PC tech than I am, I got her to watch the video and learn how to assemble her own PC thanks to cats LUL.
Best wishes to CatAngels and everyone who volunteers for them. I wish we could offer you more, but am very proud of my fellow tech heads in the GN community.

I guess I am showing my age, but I got a 3DFX Voodoo ( which was an add on card ) specifically because of the first Unreal Engine demo that I saw. I guess most of the younger kids here wouldn't be able to quite picture it, but back in the mid 90's when all we had were 800 x 600 CRT's, when you saw reflections and this cool castle fly by you were impressed. The good ole' days.

Not a single typhoon landed in Taiwan in 2020.
Meanwhile I'm in the middle of the 10th Typhoon or Cyclone we call it in Australia. Powers out, shits flooded, sinkholes and my garage and fence blew away. We been getting them every couple weeks here.

Wish I knew how to start a cat rescue. I have 6 cats, several of which were neighborhood strays and a pit that thinks she's a cat. I put food out for several others, but I feel terrible seeing them out in the cold

If the EU approach to semiconductor manufacturing is as efficient as their vaccination program, expect them to threaten to sue TSMC before anything is actually done and start with a 14nm process by 2057.

Hardware Unboxed. You have to wonder, just because of the close proximity of the two incidents whether or not Nvidia does in fact have anything to do with this.
