X - OK, grab your dumbbells, show some guts and bear down for this brutal 275 rep dumbbell workout from ATHLEAN-X called the Hatchet! Why is this workout called the hatchet if you're only using dumbbells to complete it? Because as you'll see, in just 275 reps and five exercises (and less than 30 minutes, we can take the strongest athletes in the world and cut them down to size by challenging them with workouts that actually work. In the dreaded Hatchet, our elite collegiate athletes are going to be using a pair of dumbbells to go through the following 5 exercises to complete the workout as quickly as possible. The exercises in this dumbbell only workout ================================ Dumbbell Thrusters Dumbbell Dead Rows Dumbbell Cleans Dumbbell Renegade Rows Dumbbell-less Burpee / Box Jump combos The goal is to perform 10 reps of these 5 exercises without rest and then move down the pyramid to 9 reps of each of these exercises, 8 reps, etc until you hit just one rep of each. This dumbbell only workout may look simple in structure but it's anything but easy to complete once you get started

Hey Jeff, I just bought the AX-1 training camp program and it looks great However there are some questions that I wanted to ask
1) Im not sure what weight dumbells to use in the beggining/throughout the program? Im assuming around 70% of my one rep max, but just to be sure, It'd be great if you or anyone else who has the program can answer it.
2) Do my meals need to be exactly like your meal plans, cause I am a student with a student budget, so sometimes i cant get certain food items.

In order for this type of workout to be truly effective, you have to measure it, time it, and then beat that record the next time you perform it. It is important to keep rep speeds the same each workout (whatever speed you decide) and only shorten rest period. You can increase the weight but must try to stay true to the technique. I normally am a fan of Jeff, but I found the form and technique on this video to be a bit sub-par.

that's definitely encouraging too know. Well the thing is that im no where as big ( in terms of muscle ) as the two guys in the video, so I am a little hesitant in choosing the right program for myself. However, you did say you were 17 and weren't really having any problems, so I'll definitely keep that in mind for sure! thanks man.

Did this yesterday in 95 degree heat with 20lb dumbells (weigh 170lbs, did pushup burpees and used a 24- plyobox. and all i gotta say is I was wasted at the end of 18min. I thought this was going to be one of Jeff's easier workouts, but about halfway through my heart rate was hitting 185! Hatchet is a good name!

i started these excercises like 2 months ago, and i started because the original workouts havent worked for me as good as i thought they will, practicly i havent got half big muscles like now, and this was just 2 months: D so i think you should rly try it: D just work hard, systematic and have enough rest

Just did this workout with 20 lb dumbells, I weigh 165 lbs. This workout is grueling especially the sequence from cleans to renegade rows to burpees. Your shoulders will be screaming mercy. All that aside, I got a crazy sweat goin in just a 15 min workout and was gassed! Great stuff again Jeff!

I tried this exercice and I finished it in less than 25 minutes with rest between each circuit. like, 5 x 10 (rest, 5 x 9 (rest, 5 x 8 (rest. But I am not sure if this is the good way to do it. should I rest between each or should I do everythinh without any rest?

I like AX-1 but i like your ab app for your iphone its a cool app. I wish the program showed you what specific muscle group your targeting like the app you have. unless its included in the full package.
