Need more peak to your biceps? That's exactly what we're working on today. Some will say it's all genetics but that just isn't the case, it plays a role but you can absolutely develop the long head of your bicep and get the look you want. What I found is that a big part of training biceps effectively comes down to know exactly how to train the short and long head (as well as the brachialis) independently. If you're able to do that then you can dedicate specific time or an entire workout focusing on peaking out those arms. It might sound excessive but I'm a firm believer that if you're lacking in a specific body part then why just add a set or two when you can dedicate an entire workout to it and cut down the time it takes to really see results dramatically. Let me know you favorite exercise for them below and get after it!

Greetings Ryan, your techniques and the little twists are great to learn from, so thank you. I-ve been working out for about a year steady now and in the past in the youthful days and learned that slow motion but proper feel of the muscle is very important. But having a little problem with retracting my right shoulder blade correctly, so in turn my right chest is smaller then my left chest and I-m a righty. So if you could suggest a a exercise that will help that right shoulder retraction better when I bench please. I use the bowflex blaze and bumb bells to. I always liked the pulley system better then free weights. Just trying to feel good and of course be defined at 49 years. It-s great to learn from you.

Ryan, You got so many videos man. Really good insights to how to things more thoughtful and purposeful. I am 54 and have some shoulder impingement. Probably an old injury from the time I tried to get out of a full Nelson and the guy clamped me down real hard. I have been focusing on pinching my shoulder blades together during exercises. Still I feel reduced strength. Do you have some suggestions for recovering completely or at least strengthening so I can do some shoulder workouts and build them up a bit? I have full range of motion but some pain in a few areas of the movements. Thanks. ziggy

Dear Ryan I am following you for some time now, and I have implemented most of your training advices and they perfectly work for me.
I just wanted to ask you to comment on Dorian Yates one of the greatest bodybuilders of all times, 6 times Mr. Olympia and guy known for his abnormally huge and width of his back. Do you following some of their training habits?
When I said 'their' I thought on that era, 90s and Flex, Shawn, Dorian, Sonbaty, Sharchev, Levrone.
I am not a big fan of these modern and fancy bodybuilders now.

Did the one armed hammer curls using an incline bench with the rope and cable attachment four sets of 10 reps and than 10 more reps just one pin down / and the last exercise you did here EZ curl bar just like you did it 4 sets to failure. I'm totally spent frigging amazing didn't think biceps could be stimulated after 50 years old. Been 8 hours and the pain keeps intensifying. I love it.

I have been thoroughly enjoying your videos. Pretty much binging on them for two days. Great information on the bio mechanical reasons for these variations. What are the chances of a series of videos aimed at us older lifters (60) who are so beat up everything hurts? I see great potential value in finding ways to take some weight off the bar but still get results.

Sorry. You cannot train your bicep muscles independently one over another. that's just basic biomechanics. You can't do anything about your peak or not. I know you must THINK so but a few minutes studying the human anatomy would tell you otherwise.
Your bicep muscles contract together. period. The idea that you can target one or the other is pure myth.

Been watching your videos for a week and will be starting Monday on my new routine. Looking forward to seeing the results. Thanks for the great info and changing my thinking on work out routines. I use to catch myself in the middle of a workout thinking I need to - save a little for my Tricep workout. This way I can go all out for maximum pain/gain.

Could you do a video on how to eat for lean growth. How much protein what are some basic meals to build upon. If you track macros roughly what percentage do you have each at. Do you keep adding food to your meals as you grow and make progress and if so by how much calorie wise. Also is there any particular food that you attribute to the most growth.

Thanks for your information that you provide it has really helped me on my journey to gainstown. But I know everyone had a bigger right arm than left arm but how you combat this problem i workout my left arm a lot more than my right arm but it still always seems to be smaller than the right or is this phenomenon normal. thanks

If you want a peak on your bicep make sure you select the correct parents. It's all down to genetics. You will either have biceps which peak or you don't. NO excercise will produce that peak if Mother Nature hasn't intended it to be. If you could peak your biceps wouldn't every pro have them?
