Just an attempt to play the Devil's advocate here.
This giant toddler might have some argument-worthy points, even though he seems to misunderstand or even ignore certain biomehanics, while he uploads his eating disorder struggles as social media content:
One: dehydration is the quickest and easiest way of looking leaner. That's why HE THINKS he stays lean while pigging out.
One can get a six pack out of a blurry 4-pack after some heavy cardio, low sodium, low carbs, plus little water intake in a matter of 2-3 days.
He essentially dries out his adipose tissue, while he's probably putting on fat.
Especially while on a high carb diet, aromatizing gear and GH insulin, that can cause high water retention, like he's probably using, adipose tissue can contain quite high amounts of water. 40-50% water in the adipose tissue isn't uncommon for such users, especially when not careful with their diets, as, again, he is. Dropping that to 10% is almost like dropping half your body fat in a day or two.
Two: carbs as well as fats do contain water, on top of the water content of foods. The water in those might be enough to cover some of the bodily needs. As so happens with desert animals, like camels. They use their fat storages in their humps as efficient sources of water, plus energy of courst. Humans aren't as efficient, but said survival mechanism is there.
But, in the case of dehydration plus a caloric surplus, MORE fat will get stored than usual, due to excess stress.
Sadly, in a world where easy, quick fixes and results are highly sought after, with little regard to short and long term health, such strategies are bread and butter and such giant toddlers easily become gurus with millions of followers.

Long-term dehydration isn’t a fat-loss hack it’s a health hazard. When you cut water that early in the day, your body has to constantly trigger the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, which is basically the kidneys’ emergency mode. That works short-term for stage prep or weigh-ins, but running your body in panic mode every single day will:
Damage your kidneys by overworking them and increasing risk of kidney stones and chronic kidney disease.
Raise blood pressure since your blood thickens and your cardiovascular system has to work harder.
Wreck muscle performance because water is required for glycogen storage, muscle contractions, and recovery.
Slow your metabolism as your body adapts to what it thinks is constant dehydration.
That lean look you think you’re getting isn’t fat loss it’s temporary water manipulation. Over time, you’re more likely to hold fat and lose muscle while grinding down your health.

Exactly, Ryan nailed it. This guy really thinks cutting water at noon is some magic fat hack, when in reality all he did was trip his kidneys’ emergency alarm. Food doesn’t need bottled water chasers to metabolize carbschyme is already a fluid mix, and your gut pulls/recycles about 8 liters of water a day regardless. What he’s confusing it with is glycogen storage needing water, but that doesn’t change how food digests.
That blow up and lean out’ look he’s bragging about That’s not science, that’s the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system bailing him out because his body thinks he’s wandering the Sahara. Dude didn’t biohack fat loss, he just made his kidneys cry and called it a win. Absolute genius.

He's correct, the first guy is as dumb as st.
Dehydration is a huge problem with, and contradictory to the body needs for electrolytes. I have seen people who are dehydrated because they did not drink enough water during a run of only 5K, and the first sign is their brain is affected quite severely, they cannot reason even the most simplest of logic, it is scary and dangerous, they needed to go to hospital quickly for hydration and electrolytes.

It’s the problem with social media. Person makes a video promoting something wrong because he heard something but doesn’t understand it.
Dry fasting - don’t eat and don’t drink has been shown to consume more fat than water fasting (you can drink. Apparently the body will metabolize fat to get water. Dr. Berg talks about the study.

Surely his advice would lead to a significant drop in electrolytes
I can attest to the effect of water poisoning; I drank too much water in a very short space of time. It almost killed me. I accidentally diluted the electrolytes and sodium in my body. We also know the negative effects of drinking too little water.

The thing I hate most about those kind of videos and people is they most likely don't even do this themselves. Or, he did it for a week, made the video, realized it was dumb, stopped doing it, and keeps the video up because it helps his online engagement.

Don't worry, the guy's hairstyle set off an inherent evolutionary central nervous system reaction and my ears shut down to his auditory diarrhea. Wanting to look like a brunette Johnny Bravo made me regurgitate some stomach contents briefly.

It's a bodybuilding show prep path to keep from driving them the same way you normally would, so you don't spill over at show time and between the morning and night show. An assanign idea for daily life

The motivation for dry fasting, as I've heard it explained, is that the body will seek water that is stored in fat (think of a camel's hump) and metabolize fat to do so. I don't know how true it is.

His method sounds like a fast track to feeling hungover, with a splitting headache and quite possibly some cramping, Charlie horses, and some morning constipation. Sounds awful.

I went a step further three years ago and stopped drinking water completely. It was hard at the beginning, but after I died I no longer have any problems with excess weight.

Mike Mentzer talked about this years ago. He said the muscle is made up of 60% water. He said to insure continued intake of water throughout the day.
