Little known fact is that He-Man was loosely based on Robert E Howard's Kull character (precursor to Conan) adapted for kids.

In my opinion, He-man's drawing is the representation of the body-builder of the 1970s and in particular of the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger who is considered one of the most charismatic, even today.
