The kettle bells can actually make the push-up harder it doesn-t take you that much off the floor and it also leaves a massive gap between the floor and your chest to allow you to bring your chest for past your hands giving you full range of motion working extra mustard muscles that wouldn-t of even been worked before and increasing your shoulder mobility and if you-ve only done push-ups on the floor with your hands putting your chest on the floor then using your full range of motion It-s going to be shockingly difficult.

Mind is blown. I use grips, but still have wrist pain. Now I know why! After watching your video I did a pushup with the grips and noticed my hand position is totally wrong! My position WITH grip is actually worse than without, because I hold the grip but sag down with my palms completely, putting extra tension on my wrist in stead of less! But, within a few months I am now able to do 15 proper form pushups which is a huge achievement, because I could do ZERO: 'D

Thank you thank you thank you for this! I have been having issues with my right wrist and back of my right forearm and asking a doctor in my family she just said, -well stop doing pushups then- and I'm like I get that, but I don't want to just stop doing things; I want to correct the problem. You've given ways to still do the movements while not causing further injury as well as ways to hopefully correct it. Thank you so much for addressing this in this manner!

I remember when I was young (in my 20s) back in the 90s, and thinking that only doing 15-20 pushups and 5-8 pull-ups was sooooo weak of me! Now in my 50s I would be THRILLED for that to be my starting point again! Of course back then we were told that calisthenics were only good for warming up and real strength and muscle was only built through massive amounts of weight training. How times have changed, and for the better!

I'm trying to work towards a full push up and my wrists have started hurting only when I'm doing them at bench level - currently I've progressed from the wash basin to the bed. But my wrists hurts when I try to do them using the incline on bed. They don't hurt when I do them on the floor on a mat in beginner's position though.
Can anyone suggest changes to form for incline push up please?

Thanks Cori for insight on how correct wrist problems during push ups. I have dumbbells for years because of my bad wrists from my very physically demanding job. I will have try some of the wrist stretches you mention, some I am familiar with from P90x works. Love your tighter sleeveless top.

After a few years of inactivity and a sedentary lifestyle, I was very surprised when I could no longer do the basic pushups that came easy before. This definitely helped with the pain, hopefully doing this daily will strenghten my wrists so I can keep going

Is there any danger of injury from this sort of pain? I did 20 push ups, and my weight is 7 kgs more for my height. Is this something to be worried about? And is it okay if I continue push ups as a regular daily exercise? With precautions ofcourse -

6: 30 my wrist pain suddenly agitated while just being on the computer and wouldn't go away, but trying this immediately relieved the pain lol!
Still hurts doing pushups but maybe I need to do this everyday

ah!
My work involves gripping tools and squeezing secateurs. I-ll try the hair/rubber band exercise.
Thorough clip with lots of reminders and tips to concentrate on, and exercises to try. now.
Thanks!
