I watched this video eating 2 cups of organic white rice and 2 cups of steamed sweet potatoes. No oil, no salt, and no toxic cancer wave. Mmmm. Carbs! We live in a society OBSESSED with image, looks, and weight. You are part of the problem if you OBSESS over calories, fitness, trying to stay skinny. Your healthy lifestyle isn't working for you if you find yourself constantly counting calories, restricting your calories, obsessing over what you eat and what your weight is. Head on over to the high carb raw vegan/raw till 4 lifestyle if you are sick of putting in so much time, energy, and work trying to resist body fat. Want a quick fix? Stop eating animals! Your body does not need so much protein. High levels of protein and animal protein actually hinders kidney function and is the main cause of more than 70% of all PREVENTABLE DISEASES! Go high carb raw vegan and you'll never have to count your calories again!

I would like to see some more reputable sources of research for this. Our bodies are made as glucose power-houses and we need sugar and by creating a calorie deficit, you are ultimately doing more harm than good by putting it into starvation mode. No one should have to limit calories or worry about calories as long as the food you are eating is healthy and nourishes your body inside and out. You have excellent quality videos and an important message regarding to health and fitness and many people look up to that. NO ONE should be counting calories, limiting calories, or starving their bodies. FOOD IS FUEL.

And that's how you destroy perfectly good rice sigh. I don't mean to sound rude but chilling the rice in the fridge will destroy most of the rices nutrition, then microwaving on top of that. you'll have virtually no nutrients left, plus micro waving adds toxins. Best to just cook the rice and eat it normally. This calorie restriction - even for just a bowl of rice! - makes me sad to be honest. I've tried out and like some of your cheap clean eats but don't be afraid of calories from plant sources. high carbohydrate (fruit! mostly) for the win; ) I love that you focus on wholefoods.

Hey There! I'm Indian and growing up we ate rice everyday. A cultural staple was adding a teaspoon of ghee to hot rice. So I think there is something to this. But I wouldn't add a lot of fat or expect calorie deficit. I believe its about aiding digestion in someway. May be ghee slows down the digestion of rice or helps the undigested stuff get out of the body more smoothly: ) I don't know. But just wanted to share this. Btw I love your spirit and approach to healthy lifestyle.

there is nothing wrong with eating rice if your doing it in moderation!
a cup of rice will be in a caloric rate of 205 plus what ever you added to the rice to taste good.
i always add 25 calories for the salt and the butter -which is 1 tab of butter and if i dont have that then i use oil and i make sure i dont drown the rice with oil.
if we just focus on the exercise more than the diet, we will see fantastic results!

cassie is right- the articles have blown this WAY out of proportion. I'm a food science major and we discussed this in class. The actual report from the scientists is way different than the popular media reports. Popular media reports are written primarily by people without very strong science backgrounds and a lot of the time they really have no understanding of the original scientific journal article.

This is an awesome video Cassey! I've been learning in my Health Coaching course about how to know whether research really are coming up with breakthroughs as amazing as the headlines sound, or whether they're actually misleading us by leaving out some of the crucial information which determine the significant of the effects or not. I hope you come back to visit London someday! xxx

Thank you so much taking a more critical look at the food trends out there! I really appreciate the calculations of the calories at the end of the video to help clarify what is exactly happening to the food. More videos like this to analyze food trends would be amazing! :D
