You dont seem very cultured. Mannered pis (real name) Is 17th century bronze statur was made in 1388. You saying its overrated. Just stops short of an insult. Would you rather they made a big plastic one. And maybe put an AK47 in its arms, just to please the Americans. The mona Lisa Is only 30 by 20 inches. And painted in the 1500. Not as old as Mannered pis. Brussels is a beautiful place. And as many other places to visit. I'm British. And traveled most of the globe. Respect for other cultures is a basic must. Dont put of people who wish to see the statue. You can easily research the statue. As you obviously didn't. I love your travel videos. Everything you say, and the good travel advice, for new travellers is fantastic. Bang on information. But sorry to say. Your comments on Mannered pis. As disappointed me. Safe traveling my friend

I dont think Brussels is overrated at all, as it is never seriously portrayed as a tourist destination. With that expectation, it is actually quite pleasant. It cant be overrated simply because you hear about it from a news perspective. There are other cities in Europe after all, that people hear about, that are not touristy, like Frankfurt, Zurich, Rotterdam and Milan.
An overrated city is Paris. Not because there arent many more things to see and do than the aforementioned cities (there are, not because Parisians have little patience with visitors who cant speak French (they are actually quite helpful) but because people expect so much from it, and because of the very poor relation between cost and value. And for all its image of haute culture, it is not even that sophisticated.

Visited Europe for the first time in September of 2019 and visited Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon. Overall great cities with many good food options; I did run into a few locals who were a bit rude but overall encountered more easy going and friendly people. I figure if they are rude, and for that matter anyone, they must be living a miserable life and I'd hate to see what home life is like. The best thing that we can do is welcome others to our countries and treat them like a good friend.

In my opinion, Bussels is not overrated, it's definitively underrated. There is the magnificant Grand-Place, some very nice streets with medieval buildings, a lot of Bars with hundreds of different Beers, many kinds of Street Art and Cartoon Drawings on Facades (Brussels is also the capital of Cartoons) and at least there is not only Manneken Pis, there's also Jeanneke Pis, a statue of a girl peeing, a symbol of gender equality.

I agree Mark people are people the world over. I think the differences between us all is based around Language and grammar usage. Also I think that we all live our different experiences both individually and culturally and that is manifested in subtle differences in our sense of humour. It is so important to try and learn understand and hopefully appreciate other peoples cultures and perspectives of life.

Been to just over 30 of the 44 countries in Europe. My opinion:
Overrated-
Paris, France
Anywhere in Switzerland (unless you're an avid skier, then maybe its worth it)
Pisa, Italy
Underrated-
Vienna, Austria
Croatia as a whole country is underrated
Lake Bled, Slovenia
Budapest, Hungary

Finally made it to Prague exactly a year ago, pre-covid. It was the most overrun city (with tourists) I have ever seen. And I've been a Europe flying flight attendant for 40 years. It is a beautiful city, but I was really disappointed. For a much better experience I recommend Krakow.

Honestly, I would love to do a trip through Europe with Americans. Experiencing it through their eyes and maybe giving some context here and there seems like a lot of fun. Similarly, it's more fun to experience the US when you're hosted by someone who lives there.

Excuse me but as a CANADIAN we take great offense when Americans put a Canadian flag to pretend to be Canadian so they get treated well. Just be yourself and be mice is all you need to do anywhere any time.

We're planning to start traveling to Europe sometime after a year when the Covid 19 has hopefully subsided to a mere irritant. First stops are going to be in Italy. Rome, Florence and Milan is the plan.
