Speaking of people who flip their hair over their seat. One time I had a flight from Cape town to Heathrow on British Airways in economy. And the lady in front of me kept flipping her hair all the over my inflight entertainment system. I said something to her but she kept doing it. It was probably the worst 12 hour flight because she was completely oblivious and told the stewardess I was being abusive. And got the stewardess got thr police in London involved because apparently she was scared of me. (Admittedly I am pretty intimidating in appreciate being 6 foot 5 and not skinny with a massive beard down to my chest) but I asked her politely a few times to not but she didnt so I eventually gave up and just watched some stuff on my phone. And thankfully the police were cool in london.

We were a little worried when we found that Vietnam Airlines was the one chosen by the cruise company. I can only say sorry to the airline because, like you, I loved it. As you said there was nothing special about the seat but I think that given the amount of storage, the excellent screen and the comfort - I would have gone four stars. There are a lot worse flatbed seats around. On all else, I agree. Food and service were as good as they get and I would not hesitate to fly them again. I enjoy your vlogs and look forward to more when the world gets back on its axis again.

I once had a Delta swap. Domestic first class from a B757 to a B767 with lie flats. That one worked out in my favor and I had a great flight from ATL to SFO. I think in the situation you experienced, you should be compensated with miles or a partial cash refund. Would never happen, but would be the honorable thing for the airline to do.

I fly PVG-SGN route 5-10 times a year and it happens quite often that they changes from A350/B787 to a A321. I suspect they change whenever a limited seats are occupied, as I have never experienced anyone complaining at check-in about not getting on the flight

Pleased you took the Vietnamese food option. I struggle to understand why people go to Vietnam and don't eat local food. It is superb.

The a350 and 787 compare really close but the a350 completely crushes the 787 in terms on windows, 2 min 57 sec to completely in dim in the 787 not even 2 seconds to open a window shade in any other plane

I'm due to fly their business class 787 MEL-SGN-LHR return in July 2020. Everything I hear tells me that they're on a continual improvement curve so I'm really looking forward to this flight.

Im sure the reasoning behind the slow window brightening is to not flood the cabin with light when it opens. Instead, gradually brightening.

I tried VN back in December 2015 and I was flying the A350. for the inbound flight I went via Hanoi and outbound via Saigon. Hanoi airport and lounge was like super dead. terrible

I went to Vietnam in December last year and the service on their flight was excellent and even the food there is amazing, I highly recommend Hum in Ho Chi Minh city!

787 windows are the best, they can be locked by the flight attendants preventing that one jerk in the cabin from opening their shade and ruining everyone's sleep.

The fabric of the seat looks kinda cheap and old. The lounge at the HCM airport looks so old fashioned. They even have wooden arm rest for their sofa.

The 787 looks old and wornout. needs a refresh interior and cleaning 4 sure. The a350 may be better since its abt 3-5 yrs newer
