Love your videos, but have to disagree with you on United. I know my little travel dollars will make no difference, but they will never get another dime from me. Never on time missed connections awful service. You can have them. Worst experience is I booked with them to go to Anchorage from Little Rock. I had to go thru Chicago and for some reason they booked me on Alaska Airlines from Chicago, no problem. When I tried to check in for my return flight my reservation had been cancelled because United said I never made the first flight LIT-ORD. I ask the lady how I made it with my checked baggage if I didn't. She then proceeded to charge me $50 for the reschedule. Oh, I had a first class ticket all the way thru and they charged be for my two bags in Little Rock. So you can have United and their so called friendly skys.

I am a loyal American customer. However your reviews of the competition lead me to consider the alternatives when I travel (though almost always coming back to American. One thing i have noticed is that you can get more premium service by phoning the airline. My experience with the representative (got the same lady twice) was that they are far more able to route you, seat you, and upgrade you, than even the airline website. I am flying to Los Angeles, and was aiming to take the Flagship service, JFK to Santa Ana. The website said I couldnt do it, my travel agent said I couldnt do it (both routing through OHare) but the airline said absolutely.
I would love to know how you figure these trips out.

I wish I could trust United again. After being a loyal Continental customer I continued with United. This led to lengthy delays and canceled flights, aggressive and mean ground staff, no power outlets and miserably watching movies on my phone with interrupted service. I paid full-fare for UNITED first class service once - IAH/SEA - and was horribly disappointed with mediocre food, a single option of nameless bad wine, sullen service and watching bad movies on my phone until the system crashed altogether. I've changed to Delta and Alaska now and have been surprised and delight with considerate proactive customer service, very limited delays (if at all) and really great attitudes by employees.

Your videos are so amazing, full of helpful info, and most importantly, what sets your videos apart from other vloggers is your mature way of presenting and narrating the little details, which is in striking contrast to millions of other naive airline vloggers (read 'kids'): no speaking inside the cabin (wow, no photo-bombing flight crew and passengers (I think all other vloggers should learn from you how to vlog ethically without disturbing co-passengers and flight crew)

Last time I travelled from AKL- SFO on the 77W, SFO-KEWR on the 787-10 back in 2019 a year before the pandemic started, great flights all around, totally enjoyed them on Polaris Business all the way to New Jersey. Hope to be going back to the USA sometime at the end of this year hopefully or next year when things settle down in the USA and the Pandemic is over.

Not perfect, but it really the occasion! We just need to be sure with we are flying, that all. Some or their 767 are bad, but their new business class on them are awesome! I will really fly their 777-200er Polaris, it's the best. But eating my food, so otherwise, I will give a 5-star since they let me eat my food

I've always liked United (after the disappearance of TWA. Snacks are fine. Americans get soo big and then complain about tight seats, etc, etc. HELLO? Less food also means a lighter plane, especially after it has taken off. So, again, United leads the way. You don't have to convince this United fan here!

i bet it's still uncomfortable taking off. I have said it many times, United planes must have a different air compression system compared to say, air canada. I always find it super uncomfortable taking off on a united flight, but I've literally never had that problem on an air canada flight

cool review - thanks. Your Amtrak reviews brought me to this page. Honestly, for flights, I do not use the lounge at all so I am surprised it has 5 stars to add to your review total. I would think most travelers these days just want to be in and out of an airport but maybe that is just me.

For the money, I think United is currently the biz class leader between JFK and SFO/LAX. Delta could take the title back any time it wants to bring back the 76-4s with the D1 suites, and Mint is awesome, but more expensive/narrow body/doesn't have the full suites on most aircraft.

Really enjoy your vlogs. Excellent photography along with clear, concise narration. Your ratings of service etc, are helpful for planning expectations. Thank you Jeb. Keep bringing these informative vlogs. Watched your review of CA Zephyr. A+. Would consider that rail adventure.

Aloha, Jeb. Can you please do a video on the differences of the business class between the major airlines: American, Delta, United? That would be great to see who does what best. As for me, I am a seat and food person. I really want a good meal and a lie flat bed! Mahalo, Jeb!

Nice report, Jeb. The main reason I avoided UA from the west coast into NY was Newark. Hands down Newark is the worst airport I experienced (once only) and I vowed never to use it again. Now that it's shifted back to JFK, I'll definitely give UA a go.

Airlines in the US are always looking for a reason to give crappy service. Corona gave them the perfect reason for that now: -) I am pretty sure they don't want to go back to the good old days of average service

Yes, we need the printed menu, real glasses and a better meal/ snack in addition to the comforter like American offers instead of a thin blanket. None of those enhancements should compromise any sanitation concerns.

This is another epic video.
Also, yes, it's time for a Transcon Throwdown redo. It occurred 3 years ago. With JetBlue's new Mint suite and United's Polaris, I'm extremely curious to see how they stack up today.

Thank you for this and all your videos. Not sure how often we would book first or business class but the overall experience is enjoyable and a welcome distraction from the mundane day to day life we live.

Id love to hear your thoughts on premium hard product comparisons for the US big 3. Ive been lucky enough to fly Delta One suites, but really wonder how good UALs and AAs top seats are compared to that.

Bad news. United downgrades this from a 767 to 757 effective October 2021 for SFO to JFK routes. What I booked for a December 2021 trip in Premium Plus is now Economy Plus. This is why I hate United.

They make a special flight for you? United sucks A##! Out of all the US carriers I will pay extra by 4 digits not to fly United. Fly all the time and they are by far the absolute worst.

I appreciate your generosity when it came to rating the service. I thought you were a bit harsh on the lounge, but I didnt wait in a long line for coffee either I suppose! lol

Well, normal. The word has been poping up for months now. Recently, the Emirates A380 and Lufthansa 747-8i came back to my home airport (LAX) and other airports like JFK!

Normal service today is having a reservation executed by an actual airplane within 12 hours of the time it was listed to operate. Anything above that is a bonus.

All the amenities need to come back at a level even greater than just prior to the pandemic. Maybe the benchmark should be something like 1970.

Great trip report! For starters, it's a bit weird UA has resumed service to JFK since pulling out of it a few years ago in favour of EWR.
