Business Class on Aegean Airlines ranks as one of the most celebrated in Europe. In this video, youll decide for yourself what makes the airline special and whether youd like to incorporate Aegean Airlines Business Class into your next Greek vacation. Aegean Airlines operates a flight from Heraklion to Corfu in the summer and youll see what its like to take the trip in Business Class. The flight took about an hour onboard an Aegean Airlines A320 operating at 36, 000 feet over the 412 mile trip from Crete to Corfu. Perhaps best of all, I had the entire Aegean Airlines A320 Business Class cabin to myself! In this video, youll see the beautiful scenery along the way and even learn a bit of Greek Aviation history! Well explore Heraklions airport, the Aegean Airlines Business Class seat, the Aegean Airlines service, the Aegean Airlines inflight entertainment, and even the Aegean Airlines Business Class food

ok. I am half from Crete and half from Corfu. Me and my family travel between the two islands very often, and I have never seen an Aegean flight CFU-HER. Maybe this was a double flight with stop in Athens? bit Aegean has never had a direct flight. Sky Express has a direct flight, also Ryanair does it I think in the summer, but not Aegean, sooooo. what? Did I miss it or was this another flight? It's definitely not a typical Aegean flight though, if it did happen, it was only during tourist season, definitely not a thing between November - April. And believe me, I have spent my 32 years in airplanes doing this exact route at least twice a year. Anyway, as a Greek, I have to say, not only is Aegean a great airline, I really feel like I trust it more than larger ones I have traveled with, like Iberia, Alitalia, heck I would even prefer it to British Airlines, also greek pilots have a great reputation. And I can tell you that all Greek Airlines are super attentive and take cabin & aircraft safety seriously - my dad has worked at greek airports for 25 years among technicians, and he definitely trusts greek airlines much more
edit to add two things - one, talking about Olympic you didn't mention that Onassis created it, made it huge and gave it to the state, which ruined it and Aegean had to step up and purchase to save it because the entire country was literally depressed for Olympic's bankruptcy. Second, what you didn't mention on your arrival in Corfu is how long it took to get your luggage - I bet it was a bit too long, be honest. I know this airport and it ain't high paced

Pretty much 10 years ago I took a flight from Switzerland to Athens with Aegean. It was a 737 if I'm not mistaken. Everything was fine, crew was very helpful, food was good and in general it was a great first impression. Weather conditions started to become apocalyptic as soon as we started flying over Italy. It became even worse as we flew over Greece. Rain, thunders and wind. Everything was shaking. But despite the condition the pilot managed to make one of the smoothest landings I've ever experienced. Crazy thing this happened to me again 6-7 years ago in a flight from Athens to Bucharest with Olympic. Not as bad but still we faced rain and wind. in an atr 42. I was scared. a lot, but pleasantly surprised as we landed like it was nothing. Cabin crew was calm like this happens every single flight. What I want to say is that when you choose a Greek company you will get some of the most professional crews! Pilots and cabin crew! Hats of to these extremely capable and professional people!

Nice review, I do fly with Aegean a lot and have their frequent flyer program (as you need lowest amount of flights and miles to reach Star Alliance Gold, but as you said about EU business class, there is small difference compared to economy class and thats little bit bigger legroom, which is usually at first 7 - 8 rows as they can move business class so if you are flying economy and see row 5 empty for example take that one. Also if you will have a chance try their new planes (A320/21 neos) first 16 rows also have adjustable headrest and all have usbs, plus holders for tablets, otherwise I agree that they have a good serivce and unlike many others kept it even in economy.

I find the service on most European airlines to be much better than North American airlines. However, the domestic business class seats are very disappointing. When I took my first trip in a European domestic business class seat I was coming off a transatlantic flight in business and expecting a typical business class seat. It was rude awaking and I would not pay extra for it in the future. But the overall food and service has been excellent on the mainline carriers.

Had a tiny bit worse (but still amazing) experience on a 2hour 30min flight from Athens to Tel Aviv on April of this year. The food was great (there was a fruit platter for the start, then either a crepe with chocolate vanilla ice cream and berries or pumpkin pie and some snacks and nice extras, no wines though, only soft drinks. Weird) but the crew were amazing. Really nice and a stark contrast of Lufthansa crew.

stairs are so much better as a feeling. Im a Greek and lived out of Greece for some years. the flight that got me back to my country wasn't a gate, so i still remember that feeling when i got out of the aircraft and smelled the air i missed so much before getting inside the bus. Feeling the heat of the sun, the air blowing, seeing around the landscape i missed, it's just something an enclosed gate can't provide.

I am almost silver member on their frequent flyer program and I really love Aegean! I live on Crete and regularly travel to The Netherlands, and Aegean is my airline of choice! Too bad they don't fly directly to AMS, but a quick stopover in ATH is no big deal. Can't wait to try business class too because I always fly economy, but when I finally become silver member I get two upgrade coupons: D

When you come to visit Crete again i can take you boating to Dias Island, the one you saw opposite from Heraklion Airport or other amazing destinations of the general area.
It is a virgin Island protected by the program Natura.
I just started a small boating company and offer quality services with small 5m 30hp boats that you can even drive yourself without licence.
Let me know.

Aegean are very good, in my opinion. Much better service than internal flights in the UK. I live on Rhodes now and I use Aegean fairly often to go to Athens or Thessaloniki. Regarding reclining the seat, I only do that if there is nobody behind me and the flights from Rhodes to Athens or Thessaloniki are short, about 50 minutes, so generally I don't recline on internal Greek flights.

Aegean isnt just great in service. They are actually one of the safiest airline glabaly. They have very expirienced pilots, great check on their airplanes and pretty new airplanes as well. And they havent sny serious incident yet like other airlines in the world. So its actually one of the safiests airlines in the world. And safety is the number one priority for a traveller!
reply

Reclining is appropriate for me. It's one of the features of a cabin products everyone on the plane pays for. So, no reason to complain, when someone uses this function. When you don't like fellow pax reclining into your space, you should book Ryanair, where seats don't recline. That's not a great issue, as reclining angle usually is quite small, even in business class.

actually you pronounced mr Argyropoulos' last name correctly. the mistake was on his first name Emmanouil (or Emmanuel) as in Greek the -il or -el are pronounced like the word ill and not like the beginning of elephant.
Other than that very nice video!

Flew 4 times in business class this year on an international flight. 3 times the preferred meal was no longer available. Look like they are trying save some money by reducing the number of meals. For me no more Aegean business class, waist of money.

Aegean fly from Athens to London Heathrow. I first discovered the airline not long after they started flying from the UK to Athens and my first flight was at budget airline price but scheduled airline food and service. My favourite airline.
reply

To be more accurate. Your flight was an Olympic Air flight operated by Aegean. Olympic Air is part of the Aegean group and operating the whole domestic network in co operation with Aegean. All the domestic flights are marked OA/OAL.
reply

Aegean is the best regional European airline. Period. No, I do not think it's acceptable to recline in any economy class seat. In fact, the recline is so poor, that they should be designed NOT to recline. Air-rage prevention.
reply

I'm Greek and always traveling with Aegean from Greece to any destination in Europe. For me is one of the best airline now in Europe. I want to see them traveling all over the world like the Olympic airways in the past.
reply

Lovely to see you enjoying Greek travel and Greek airports. I first flew into Corfu in 1973, and the welcome, the heat, the bus, the uncomfortable lounge seat are all the same. It is part of the charm of Greek travel. Love it!
reply

Duty free shops are a theme in European airports because theyre privately owned and more profit driven, which is also why the airports are generally nicer than American airports, which are funded by state and local governments

Im flight to Greece in September and I also booked the business. What are the dimensions of your carry on and personal? The website is constricting. I know the business gives you up to 13kg. Is there one for your personal?
reply

Are you serious? Business class with no big & comfortable seats, instead a middle row seat they do not sell?
Business class with no internet service?
Business class with no personal TV screen?
No, but no thanks.

reply

For recline i usually only recline if Im in a premium cabin, or if someone in front of me reclines. that said at 62 my legs dont physically permit the person in front of me to recline when its 30 or less of pitch

Enjoyed the review! HER airport is a mess, and it will get completely replaced with a brand new airport a little further inland (planned opening 2025. CFU recently had its terminal refurbished and expanded.
reply

Emmanuil Argiropoulos was not the first person to fly over Greece. He was the first Greek to do so. The first person who flew over the country was a Soviet pilot named Sergei Isayevich Utochkin.
reply

I almost always recline my seat. I get very bad flight anxiety/panic attacks and sitting up straight makes it worse. If I didn't have this issue I would probably only recline on longer flights.

Turkish airlines is the best business class in Europe. Its been like for years not every year they get the first place. They have TVs on every chair they have the best meal and very clean

I almost cried out of joy hearing all these beautiful comments about Greece. It was such a moving video for me, a greek girl trying to become a cabin crew member for Aegean
reply

I take Aegean everytime I go to Greece for the short hops from Athens to the islands. Clean planes, friendly and professional crew, nice snacks, and always a pleasant flight.
reply

Totally agree on Aegean: Excellent cabin service and professional crews. I'm also sometimes amazed at Aegean's low airfares. Definitely a top European carrier.
reply

Here is my view on seat etiquette. I dont appreciate it when people recline their seat in my already confined area. So I dont do it to others.
