Any time Ive flown Delta it didnt go well. Their customer service is non existent. Most notably was when our luggage was delayed and didnt arrive on our (late night) flight. We were staying at a hotel not far from airport for the night before continuing on our vacation. I emphasized the fact we were only at hotel overnight and check out was at 11: 00. They promised theyd put priority rush on our luggage and would be first to be dropped off. Didnt arrive till 5pm. Had to wait at hotel. Glad I made sure I was there for luggage drop off. So I could make sure all our luggage was there. Turns out one suitcase was left in truck. He had to go back to get it. Delta offered nothing in compensation.

I live in Minnesota, so Delta is typically less expensive than others. All I can see about the release date on this video is that it's from one year ago. Given that almost everyone appears to be wearing masks, I'm guessing it's from before April 2022.
Delta's food service has changed a LOT since this video. They still have the water when you get to your seat, and depending on how crunched they are for time, there's a good chance you'll be offered a beverage before take off (although that can also vary based on where you're leaving from. That beverage is in plastic, but the remainder of my beverages were in glass. They now offer hot meals plated nicely.

Excellent service these days is gone with the wind. I'm a retired flight attendant with Continental Airlines (35 years, 1970-2005. Back in the 1970's, on select domestic flights -- in coach -- I can remember how we placed fresh linens on each tray table, and our food was served on china, with entrees such as lobster thermidor, filet mignon, etc. I once flew non-rev on Delta in 1973 (Atlanta to Los Angeles) and Delta's coach service was similar to ours, too. Back in those days, coach service was SUPERIOR to today's first class. Sad to see how everyone's gone downhill.

I have, probably by habit, always flown American. On a recent flight from Miami to DFW on American, we (my wife and I) flew in the highly touted 777 Dreamliner. It was a painful experience. The seat configurations are not designed for couples are folks flying together. Although I will probably keep flying American, I will definitely be avoiding the Dreamliner experience. Perhaps to judge the airlines more equally, the type of aircraft should be the samewhere possible.

Will always love Delta, grew up flying on that airline because my mom is a flight attendant and were thankful we get free standby tickets. There meals are amazing I went on a flight to from California to New York in there Delta One seats and it was super nice especially loved the chair that was able to go down. Love they have TVs and their movie are actually good lol. Going to try out American for the first time soon so excited to see what their airline is like.

Once upon a time the top 3 airlines in the US, were nice. Now, they look cramped and cheap for their prices. The airport near me only has Delta, which has to fly you to Atlanta in order to connect to other airports/airlines. Oh, well, glad I'm researching before going off of their bad publicity in customer services.

American Airlines is smart for not putting that entertainment junk in the seat. Many people don't use it and it raises the ticket prices. So even if you don't use it, you're paying for it. Delta isn' t offering those things for free or at lower prices.

I flew Delta first class in April of this year and the meal was not boxed. It was in dishes just like American. It was like dining at a fine restaurant. This was a JFK to MCO flight! 2 1/2 hours with a full meal, drinks and a snack! Way to go Delta.

Delta is more expensive, then American and United and Delta doesnt have no good partners with in Japan and is in Australia or New Zealand and delta is not getting the the Overtune boom aircraft that gets you there half the time in 2029
reply

People have just come to expect way too much out of air travel. Especially a 2 or 3 hour flight. You dont need to eat a crappy airline meal on a 2 hour flight and put the phone down, lay back and let your brain rest.

American is better honestly. They have a really good admirals club which is better than a first class lounge. With American you get the most bang for your buck and Americans FIs are better also

Ive flown 5 first class flights on Delta in the past month and only two American flightsAmerican Airlines won in every way. Delta is slackinghopefully theyll get back to first class experiences
reply

Wow, 1st Class on American is worse than comfort class (below business, but above economy) on a lot of non-US airlines. How sad that US Airlines have become so ghettoized and uncomfortable.
reply

I can't believe first class charges for wifi! I also am disgusted that when you spend the money for first class it doesn't include the lounges. I will stick with Alaska whenever possible.

I ride delta frequently on summer but when it comes to take off time and landing time I would say morning departures and sun set arrivals because they always look beautiful
reply

No more American for me, Delta is truly a far better airline! The staff is much more friendly and the screen on the backs of seats and cheaper internet is a huge factor.
reply

I guess theres a huge difference between international 1st class and local 1st class. But no Lounge access just turn me off. No way Im paying that ticket on AA
reply

All USA airlines have no clue about how to do first class servicebecause a lot of staff arent trained an some are down right rude to first class passengers.
reply

Not impressed with Delta first class. A lot of old aircraft with only wide seats. Crews always seem to be awesome but that alone wont keep the seats filled!
reply

AA treats customers like crap. After enduring this time after time after time Im done. Ill. Pay higher as opposed to American, Spirit or Frontier.
reply

Price tickets for first class can be okay you better look encomry I think will loose not to order 380 390
I think delta will loose look encomry please

In the US, Delta is my favourite airline. Its expensive, but everything else is great. Internationally, Lufthansa takes the win
reply

Awesom3 viein thanks fo4 all that information, one thing I couldnt offed first class, I be flying with American in June 2023
reply

My choice is clear the one with the lower price and more convenient schedule and newer air plane. And location of Lay over lol
reply

Imagine the balls AA has to call no pre-flight refreshments and no in-flight entertainment first class. That is. something.
reply

How does it work if the dude in front wants to lean back? Like wouldnt your screen be pointed towards your lap?
reply

Curious why fly west to Vegas from DFW then east to Atlanta. Asked because I tend to fly shortest most direct flights.
reply

The one issue I have about United is that once you leave the gate the app does not work unless you buy WiFi
reply

I prefer early morning flights because you get awesome views and you get to your destination at a earlier time
reply

I prefer morning flights on the way out of my home airport and night flights when coming back to my home airport.
