Join us inside the brand new Capital One Lounge in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport! In this video, youll see everything this world-class lounge has to offer. Youll see the Peloton room, the sleep pods, and of course the top-notch food and beverage offerings! Located near Gate D22 in Terminal D of the DFW Airport, the Capital One Lounge is open from 6: 00 a. m. to 9: 00 p. m. We had the chance to see both breakfast and lunch options during our visit. We paid $65 per person because we do not have a Capital One credit card that includes access to the lounge. We thought it was worth the money for the food, drinks, amenities, and perhaps best of all views accessible only from the Capital One Lounge. But

Cap One is clearly trying to catch up with the AmEx Centurion Lounges, which have been a huge success for AmEx. The Centurion Lounge at DFW (and at CLT, MIA, LAX and LGA, etc) is routinely operating at full capacity by offering a significantly upscaled lounge option compared to the sad AA lounges. There's a reason why those Centurion Lounges have opened up in AA hubs and why AmEx can't open them fast enough. Cap One appears to be going after the United traveler in a similar way, which makes their opening at DFW even the more curious. You'd think Cap One's first would be at IAD, which doesn't have a Centurion Lounge, is a United hub, and is a short drive from Cap One's headquarters. AmEx is opening its Centurion Lounge at DCA in the next couple of years and you best believe I'll be there on opening day!

Not worth $65 ($130 for two. Would I go? Only if it was offered for free, or a token amount (like $15, with my fee-free Capital One card. DFW is a huge airport. It can easily be a train ride, then a moving sidewalk ride, then a long walk, from your check-in counter, and then another long trip to get to your gate. Who then needs a workout on a Peloton? I would just stop by a restaurant in the airport near my gate and relax around there. People, including me, are traveling much less, and are hanging around airports less. This stuff is no longer worth it, but that's just my opinion. If you think it's the best thing since sliced bread, then go, but I'll pass.

Several Capital One credit cards offer lounge access, including the No Annual Fee Walmart Rewards Mastercard. However, a $65 entry fee for two people is quite reasonable and I suspect you were undercharged. Another benefit, should this lounge show up at more than three airports, is SPACE! I have Priority Pass and their affiliates are often packed and one CAN be placed on a waiting list for entry! Secondly, some have time limits which further reduce their usefulness. I have a few CapOne cards, so next time I wander through DFW, I'll check that Club out.

I just apllied for the venture x card lastnight and got approved for 20k with a fico score of 771. I have most of their cards, savor one, regular quicksilver and a regular checking and savings account. For those wanting to know what annual income i added was 90k. Not sure if that matters but just wanted to add that in there. Also my credit history is fairly still new. Opened my first credit card here back in 2019

Yeah, I don't fly very much in my older years, but I am glad I don't have a Capital One card because the fees on those cards are what paid for that lounge, clearly an abuse of the fees. Capital One is notorious for doing these wonky promotions trying to lure higher income people into their card prison. What's in your wallet? Hopefully not a Capital One card. What's in my wallet? None of your effing business.

Great looking lounge but since DFW is my home airport it doesn't do me any good unfortunately. If it were at say Philly or some other airport that I would have a long layover at when going to europe it would be great. (none of the airlines have DFW direct flights to anywhere in europe I go to) I don't see the need for going to a lounge at your home airport unless your flight is delayed for a long time.

Between these new lounges and the Capital One Coffee Cafes opening up, they are finding a new and creative ways to lure in travelers with discretionary spending. I'm hearing good things about the new Venture X card. My general rule of thumb is I choose lounges for layovers more than 3 hours. I recently enjoyed the new Alaska lounge in SEA and loved it.

Great vid Jeb. Just the fact that you can PAY to get in, with no strings attached, will get me in there on my next DFW trip. And l say that as a fairly loyal DELTA customer, who was recently denied access to the lounge at KSLC, despite flying Delta that day, AND being a Skymiles Member WITH a SkyMiles AMEX card. They don't even offer a day rate.

I signed up for the Venture X card at least partially to get access to the new lounge coming at Dulles. Can't wait to see if it lives up to this one. As much as I'm glad you got to experience and review it, I do kind of wish it wasn't open to the general public as I worry it will get crowded like every other lounge I've been to recently.

I was there two weeks ago for a four hour layover it was awesome, this was my first time ever in any lounge but the experience was nice. the food was great as well as the views. the to go sandwiches were excellent. cant wait until my next journey. gonna try to connect thru DFW the next time i travel!

Let me ask you something how do you justify spending the same amount of money it takes a working class student to go to college for a 12 hour flight while simultaneously having a bigger carbon footprint than some countrys?
Arrogance?
Entitlement?
Or do you just not care?

I've always enjoyed your content, and you just keep making more for me to watch! One of my favorite videos is the Emirates 777 first-class seat (can't remember when you uploaded it but it's been a fair while since then, and I usually watch it before I go to sleep.

Great lounge. We were just there last week with the family on the start of our trip. First time in a lounge since we have the capital one venture card which gives you 2 passes a year. Great food and amazing views. Totally agree that the staff were fabulous.

Im about to get the VenX card but I find it peculiar that most people would pay 65 bucks to access the lounge thats steep imo and DFW airport is pretty nice all around. Not to mention its in terminal D and there are a ton of terminals in DFW airport.
reply

This looks like such a great lounge, great food, great views, great seating, everything a lounge needs! I've got to try this out someday when passing through DFW. Thanks for the video jeb and I hope you and Suzanne had a great time. Cya in the Lounge!

How can you possibly pass up a gorgeous view of the tarmac while sipping a silly drink in a fabulous chair? This is a primo modern era experience. Who even needs the flight! I wonder if you can book an event there?

The new Capital One Venture X is the card to get if you are into lounge access with a modest annual fee. It also provides Priority pass membership for up to 4 different authorized users.
reply

Just get the Venture X if you live in any of the Ds. You can still use its priority pass to regardless of where you are. Sign up bonus is nice too and so are the overall card benefits.

Another cool video. But I do find it rather sad that in the Free World, a woman has to go to a separate room to nurse her child. I, a man-man, almost came to tears when I saw that.
reply

If I had several hours to kill I would consider this a decent purchase. Food and drink are a nice perk but avoiding the general public in the terminal is what I would splurge for.
reply

Yes, Ill pay the $65. If you throw in the drinks its a bargain. Less crowds, nicer staff from what you saidIm all in. Plus you can take food to go? When are they coming to Detroit?
reply

Jeb, it was super cool to see on on tv the other day. You are famous now. The food looked great, I would have to have a steak to make it worth $65. 00. No alcohol for me.
reply

That takeaway, by itself, is worth a day pass whilst flying economy. Great concept, and I hope more shared-space lounges emerge like this in the coming years.
reply

Totally worth it! Having the card is a definite plus as you get unlimited access at no fee, on top of that you get priority pass to other lounges around the world.
reply

Are magazines and newspapers on offer? I did not see any in the video. I do like the take away food offerings in case of skimpy offerings on an ongoing flight.
reply

Jeb,
HaHa. It looks like an Ikea showroom.
For $65/ea I'd say you got played.
Did you know that the airport provides FREE seating in the terminal?

reply

Im a cap one card holder and will try to convince my girlfriend to access it while we layover in dfw. I appreciate the legwork put in to review this lounge!
reply

Great content. Do you know of a solution for what to do when you are stranded at DFW due to plane maintenance for 8 hours and its not worth going to a hotel?
reply

The Alaska n lounge looks nicer, but they really need to step up their food game. Because of the food alone this capital one lounge looks a lot better
reply

Will be at DFW today and with 50 minutes to catch a connection in terminal D, maybe I can visit this lounge quickly and grab some of the takeout bags
