I don't fly a lot but have been thru 2 declared emergencies, one on a Northwest 757 from Detroit to San Diego simular to your emergency here but much worst. Coming in to S. D, we had hydraulic problems which cause the flaps and slats to lock in uneven positions on both wings causing a real problem for landing. We circled just outside S. D over the mountains for over a hour as they tried to figure out what to do. Then we made a attempt to land at S. D. but couldn't because of our speed and limited flap settings. San Deigo is a tricky airport to land at with a normal airplane let alone ours. The co pilot had to hand crank either the nose gear down or something else, can't remember what he said as we were circling earlier. We got all the way to about 200 ft above the runway then full power was applied and up we went. I could see the fire trucks on the taxi way as we aborted the landing and went skyward. Then we went out over the ocean and circled again for awhile. Funny, I wasn't really scared but a women passenger with her husband and 2 kids in my seat row was crying pretty bad. I know airplanes pretty good and have been a aviation spotter for years and study airliners so i kept telling her it will be ok and explained what was going on as the captain did his announcements as to what we were doing. So then they told us we were flying up to L. A because of the long runways. We must have been getting low on fuel by then too. We had been in the air for about 7 hours or more. As we approached L. A we kept weaving back and forth to bleed off speed. I could see the runway out my window everytime we banked to the right. This time as we came in for the landing the flight attendents told us to get in the head down position. The pilots did announce earlier we would have to land at a very high speed and it would be a hard landing. Later i was told by the pilots it was about 185 mph at touch down. It was a very hard landing hitting my head on the seat in front of me as we hit the runway and it was also very loud. We just did come to a stop at the very end of the runway. We landed on 25R. Everybody started clapping when we stop. Once the fire trucks check us out and the brakes cooled we got to the terminal and got off the plane. They gave us all a $300 vaucher as we got off the plane if you excepted the terms of it. I did. When the pilots came off the flight, people were thanking them for getting us on the ground safetly. I also rememeber the co pilot was soaking wet with sweat from all the manual labor he had to do and i am sure with the difficult landing too. Then Northwest actually took a plane that was at another gate scheduled to go to a different city and cancelled that flight and boarded us on it to get everyone to S. D. still that night. To this day i can't figure out why they did that? I do remember some people on our flight saying they are not flying again today so they ended up taking a bus or what ever to San Deigo. LoL! So we boarded an Airbus 319, i think it was a brand new plane for Northwest at that time and taxied to the runway only to be told we were over weight and had to sit there and burn fuel. After finally getting into S. D about 4 or 5 hours late, i recognized some of the fellow passengers that took buses or taxi's to S. D. retrieving there bags. Couldn't believe they got down to S. D that fast? I also rememeber when getting off the plane in San Deigo being met with news camera's and crew wanting to know what it was like on the plane. Then to top it all off i got home just in time for the 11 o-clock news and watched our emergency approach and landing filmed from a local L. A news hilocopter! All in a days flying.

Excellent video, INFORMATIVE and not a bunch of graphics, hiphop beat and music, and no I'm-a-wanabee-Spielberg-factor. Everything I'd like to know about the first class product was covered in visual and verbal detail and yes --- we take for granted what's important in life, in general and an ice reminder of that. Save travels sir. Also, I must say. the quality factor of the seats and good - makes me want to drive an extra 40 mins to a different airport - --so I can do Delta sometimes. The seats and food here - looked First Class and I seriously question why carriers, when they are getting an extra $1000+ for a seat. chintz on food. What does it cost? An extra $10 pp to do it right? Planning a family trip and now Delta is on radar screen.

I remember flying on a Northwest Airlines Dc-10 from New Delhi to Amsterdam in 1994. We had to land without any flaps at all. I still remember saying Holy sht when the pilot told us what was happening. But I remained calm and just tried not to think about it or look out the window to see that we are landing without flaps. We landed on the longest runway at the airport and there were fire trucks ready. We almost used the whole runway but we ended up taxiing to the gate and everything ended up being fine.

Been doing first class exclusively since 2019. I can sort of justify it for international flights on Delta One for the right price. But domestic first class never made a ton of sense to me. No access to sky lounge, meh food, and seat that's marginally better than economy. The only main perk I see is being able to exit first but that's a 5 minute saving for 5x the cost? I guess it might makes sense if you need that extra leg space because you're ginormous or if you want to flex.

Ive watched so many of your videos and this is the first Ive ever commented on. What a fantastic bit of film this was! I just flew that route on two separate A321-NEOs and I was amazed by the airplanes lack of noise and total comfort. The team at Delta is so very professional and puts safety first. These are two reasons why I always fly with them. Thank you for this video. It was incredibly informative and was an excellent reminder of what makes aviation truly amazing!

Jeb great video thanks for sharing. I got to fly on one of the new A321neos recently and i noticed you missed a cool new feature. The inflight entertainment screen has a Bluetooth enabled feature so wireless headphones can be paired. There was some simple instructions to follow, after holding the headset close to the screen for pairing my Bose paired with no trouble. It worked great, from MSP to ANC. Thanks for all the fun videos, cheers.

I love all your videos. First of all I am terrified of flying! Although I flight couple times a year. Watching your videos makes me understand that people enjoy flying for a reason! I adore how you love flying and how highly you speak about it, even when there are emergency situations! I just want to thank you for your amazing work, i have been watching you for couple years now and truly enjoy your videos!

horribly disapointed by the a321neo business class. no leg room, no elbow room, the center console just gets in the way. if you're tall and try to get work done on a larger laptop. forget it as soon as the person in front of you reclines their seat. 37 pitch is pretty sad. and business class has less under seat room than economy. bit of a rip off

I can definitely see this if youre a Delta road warrior and you can get upgraded. Paying triple or more however on a cash ticket when that clearly is the same ife screen throughout the plane - thats just not good value unless you are made of money and dont care. They have more pitch in economy than AA with the same plane. No ife on AAs 321 neo

Jeb is incorrect. He makes numerous claims like this one 1: 25 throughout the video. Delta still has Delta One flights BOSSFO. I even verified it right now before I posted this. I know because as a medallion member I look for Domestic Business class flights that allow medallion upgrades (only domestic business class allows medallion upgrades)

Glad to see Delta is FINALLY get newer aircraft. Flown numerous time in First Class and all but 1 seemed to have been built in the 90s and nothing to brag about and not that comfortable. Flying in a few weeks from SAN to FLL in First Class. Not getting my hopes up for a modern aircraft. Thanks for sharing.

When I flew from Heathrow to san fransisco with British airways they made us close the blinds for the whole flight and my auntie flew with are lingus and they made them close them aswell so this must be a newer thing because I fly to Orlando every year and theyve never done it before

As 4 million miler i have to say i hate when people not close their shades 15minutes after take off, after 15 minutes there is literally nothing else to see, but super bright lights that annoys people. If you want to see the wing the ENTIRE flight? Go see a therapist!

I will not be bullied into closing the blind. I also do not understand why U. S. regulations allow them to be closed during take off and landing. It is a matter of immediate safety that you are able to sea outside, seconds count.

Understandedly, most of the comments were in response to the staff proffessionalism & training. However, you glossed over the elephant the room! 1st class & Delta One domestic flights alone no longer allow access to Skyclubs as of Feb 1!

Personally I prefer the United Airlines product. Plus they (United) do more of the international flying themselves versus Delta that has farmed out most of their International flying to their codeshare partners.

The future of first class? Specially for cross country flights? My gosh. Bring back the flat beds! That should be the future of first class domestic flights. Specially with flights over 3 hours.

I have had three Bad Landings, one an engine fire on takeoff the other two ended up of the runway in heavy rain. Not like a good freind who was involved in a full-on emergency landing in a river,

Delta is probably my favorite airline. I flew them down to FLL, from KBZN, and had a wonderful time. We had two legs of this epic journey. One, from KBZN to SLC, the other, from SLC to FLL.

The future of First Class? Why bother, there's not a single US carrier that comes close to being a First Class airline. If you want a real First Class video, choose an Asian Airline

utter garbage. When you're flying 6 hours from Boston to San Fran you better get international style First Class. Its just a cheap loop hole because its considered domestic.

Completely insane that JFK -> LAX gets a lie flat and BOS -> SFO does not. All these products should be based on distance, and all these cabins should be updated.

When the captain came on, you should have stood up and run up and down the aisle screaming at the top of your lungs. Just kidding. Glad all went well and landed safely.
