Ten years a go I took that flight before the LAN and TAM fusion, at that time the route was operated by LAN Peru. I went to Chile to visit my former girlfriend and when I returned to Mexico City the flight was re scheduled for couple days later, in that moment that wasnt a bad thing, but when time finally arrived there were lots of issues, first one was that the handling personal told me that I couldnt take my 2 suitcases with me and I must pay around 100 usd for extra weight, and the woman that told me that was the same one that took the payment directly (she didnt let me go to make the payment to the airline office.
Then on the plane there was a high age person on my seat by the window and the flights attendant was to rude and told me that was an elder person and I must assist her too. Back on land a military officer told me that I had to make a security inspection and i must have take place on a huge line, when I asked why she told me that if I had something ilegal with me she would take me to jail in that moment so I make the line, in that moment I just have an hour to go to my departure boarding room, I didnt knew where it was and also there was a constant announcement that kindly says passengers we remember you that at Jorge Chavez terminal we didnt make announces, stay tuned of you flight I didnt knew if be happy or afraid about that.
Finally I was at the end of an interminable line and the personal there told me that I havent to stay at that control and my flight was just about to be closed and they were looking for me, so they asked someone if can go there for me in a vehicle. After that I came very quickly to my boarding door and the flight was very good. At my home couple days later I had a phone call for a survey about my experience, when I told all this they said me that I havent make any payment because my destination county was Mexico and Lima was a transition city only, and the luggage restrictions apply only at the destination place, so they were very kindly and gave me a couple thousand miles for my next flight, that used at the end of the year to have an upgrade to premier class. And that was a completely different history, it was an awesome flight and this video made me remember that experience. Cheers

I got sick in Peru 5 weeks ago, needed to change and use my return ticket to the States for me and my wife, showed them the medical certificate from the Dr. That was taking care of me stating needs to go back home soonest LATAM PERU did not give a about my request instead make me way 3 days to accommodate me and my wife but thats not all I had to paid 1400 dollars for my retuning tickets even though I had my tickets for the 16 of June to come home. This was on May the 20th. As soon as got out of LAX I was taken to the hospital where I stayed for 9 days. Im working on a complaint with INDECOPI and I really hope theyll do something. Remember this is LATAM PERU. Thanks for reading.

Great review. Nostalgic to see the 787 in the config that I first flew in 2016 as LAN Chile just before they merged. They were running SYD-AKL-SCL and we caught the first leg as a family of 4. I didn't find the 2-2-2 layout an issue on the 4 hour flight as we didn't consider laying flat but I do see the point. For a short-ish leg, it's still better than the NZ 1-1-1 layout that is still being flown across the Tasman Sea. The best thing about the review though is that the crew are still as fantastic as we found when we flew. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional!

That looks like a really nice lounge, and that early I get the need for a hot drink. Tea, but still.
On the plane I really appreciate the rack for LPs just in front of the console between your seats.
In flight gramophone player, anyone?
Anyone that offers me wine with breakfast is a friend for life! I think they served breakfast as that's traditionally later than we have it in the Northern Hemisphere. Which is why I have so few friends, I guess.

Latams new business class is for sure better than the old one, in terms of hard product. Service and catering is always very iffy, and customer service is horrendous.
Best business class in South America IMHO is Azuls Business Class on their A330-900 Neo and their service and customer service never let me down. Catering is also much better, but IFE could have more selections.

Does anyone know how old Jeb is? At first look he could be 50-something (grey hair, checkered shirts and all) but at closer look, he is hiding a smooth baby face under that grey beard leading me to believe he could be end-30's. Anyone? I've just been wondering after watching a few videos. Great and informative videos and very sympathetic personality. Please keep it up.

Hello everyone, apologies to bother but Im headed to a flight tomorrow and I had a question since its all kind of new to me. If I wanted to bring my Nintendo Switch on the flight and in the plane, what would be the procedure? Any tips or info? I want to be able to have the Switch during the flight and not worry of it being lost in the cargo

Thanks for the video! Enjoy the rest of your time in South America. I'm really looking forward to your return home, though, because I'm really interested to see your take on the new La Guardia airport renovations. From what I've been seeing so far, LGA has done very well, albeit the complexity of getting to/from ground transportation.

Hey Jebb! considering the fact that you are in Peru, take some days to visit Panama! We have the Panama Canal and you can visit the caribbean sea and the Pacific Ocean within a 1hour drive! BTW, we have the best coffee on Earth (its called the GEisha coffee) Hit me up if you are coming here!

Hi Jeb. You mentioned that Delta was going to get some A350s from LATAM with those seats. Do you know what Delta will brand them? I personally find those not worthy of Delta One branding
How can Delta have brand new Delta One Suites on some A350s and those on the others?
Thanks!

Thanks for the review, Jeb! I am doing the exact same route as you, originally booked on LA650, same flight as you but the flight got changed to an earlier timing, fortunately the aircraft operating on my flight is a 787-8. Looking forward to flying on this airline soon!

One of the main things to take from this video, for me, is that I would rather fly economy on this layout because I'd book a window seat where possible and would feel like I'd disrupt a fellow passenger more to gain access to the aisle in business class.

5: 53 - That 732 has quite the history! And the a/c youre flying on is quite the busy body. Today, shes going from SCL - LIM - SCL - JFK. I guess thats a good thing given so much of their fleet is grounded. I wonder why they eft ONEWORLD. Any idea why?

Please do an appreaciation video on the ground workers. I just started working for them in my local airport, and there is a whole lot that goes on the behind the scenes. We even clean the planes, and dont get to leave until 2-4am.

Humm, let me guess, this video was supposed to be posted in between your flight from Atlanta to Santiago and the magnificent Peru train ride? Your joke kinda caught me off guard. Great scenery you visited.

I am taking this 2-2-2 configuration 787 from SYD to GRU later this year. I gather this is the most obsolete business class product out there. A 12-hour flight on those seats seem to me to be a nightmare.

As a Colombian I appreciate the Juan Valdez comment, their coffee is amazing and you should definitely plant to visit here if you want to see how coffee is made first hand, and taste it homemade too!
reply

Let's not overstate it. It may be better than a 3-3-3, but this is over a decade old, has often gross fabric seats, wonky foot-rest when you lie-flat, and of course no aisle access. 4: 14

I call McDonalds the U. S. Embassies here in Japan as well! Mobil ordering through the app is handy when I want a quick and hassle free meal without the hassle of the language barrier.

Keep in mind that lunch in Latin America isnt until 1-2pm. Even many US Embassies, as you call them, with the Golden Arches start lunch service at noon, and sometimes 1pm. Great info!

when did latam get so many boeings? I remember flying mostly on airbus (I know nothing about planes though, but that's what it said on the booklet) when I was younger, 10-15 years ago

7: 08 It always get me laughing when he expects the airplane table to be large enough to work and eat at the same time hahaha
To be honest I find it weird to work in an airplane

I found the US Embassy in Amman's Queen Alia airport yesterday. Unbelievably, it couldn't do me a McMuffin.
Can't remember ever having seen a bad video review of LATAM.

Does it make me an aviation nerd if my Lock Screen background is the OneWorld logo, and my Home Screen background is the Star Alliance logo, and I binge watch Jeb Brooks?

What if you revisited Amtraks empire builder? They are starting to buy new diesel locomotives and are testing them on the empire builder.

Great video! Do you think that you could try the new service on British airways 787-8 from PDX(Portland, Oregon) to LHR(London Heathrow)

Did anyone notice that old first generation 737 while the plane was taxiing?
I see it every time when I taxi there.
So nostalgic.
