While TWA may have been the first, I think it s fair to say the Continental pioneered trans-Atlantic, narrow-body flights. The airline covered many smaller airports (BRS, BFS, STN for four months, CPH, etc) with a fleet of 42 B752s. Now 39 of those B752s continue with United.
I think that once United gets its A321s, I expect to see United blanket Europe from EWR, IAD and ORD. I think that airports such as ORK, DUS, MAN, HAM, LYS, BHX, TLS, STR, HAJ, GLA, NCL, NTE, BFS, SVQ would be good targets.

Consider taking an airlines final score and dividing it by the cost of the ticket so you can rate how much money per star a person would have to pay. Or call a star a 'Jeb' and you could rate an airline by how much money you'd have to pay per 'Jeb'. So the units would be Dollars/Star or Dollars/Jeb. Cost of the ticket divided by the star or Jeb score. That way you can see how many stars out of 25 a person gets and how much money they pay per star.

The future of narrowbody trans-Atlantic flights depends on the A321XLR. Boeing has no plans to produce a direct competitor, so the 321XLR will become the only viable option for trans-Atlantic flights beyond the east coast of North America to western Europe. But rumour has it that the 321XLR may not live up to its promised range of 4800 nm, and if the range is closer to 4250 nm then airlines may shy away from it in favour of the 787 and A330.

Hi Jeb and Susanne. Envious as hell as there simply are no competitors operating 8 + hour flights out of Australia at the quoted ticker range mentioned. and that only gets us to Singapore and then 12+ hours to Paris. That is a tyranny of distance, but like you both, we love flying to places like Paris, even when it looks cold and wet. Please do not slow down, vicarious travel with you two is a great pastime. Cheers from Melbourne.

This is crazy. Just last week, I trying to research business class deals for a wedding we need to attend in Paris in late 2024. This service popped up in my research and I was wondering if this is worth it. And lo and behold, a week later, you publish this video! Thanks Jeb. I m seriously considering this airlines for the Paris trip. Also, cool SBGJ249! Stunning design and that high beat movement is chef s kiss!

Business Class only airlines have been tried and mostly failed over the past twenty years or so. Even BA had to admit defeat on their service from London City. I suspect that most Business Class passengers prefer normal Buisness class due to bigger cabins, frequent flier schemes and more choice in destinations, frequencies etc. La Compagnie are somehow defying the trend and look a very good outfit.

I knew I liked you folks! I'm from Kernersville! Started my over 40 year airline career with Piedmont in 1981!
Wait! Whoops!
ACTUALLY began my career with THE ORIGINAL low fare airline. PEOPLEXPRESS in EWR! In 1980! YES THEY HAD AIRCRAFT IN 1980! Geez. Good times but, miserable employer. Jumped ship almost immediately for Piedmont
See you next time

I think an all business class airline is a brilliant idea. Singapore Airlines has an all business flight out of the UK and they are making a fortune. Limiting the food and drink options - but making sure they are all excellent - is the way to go. I have been on Emirates and the most popular meal was sold out, so what was the point of having an extensive menu?

Two things come to mind. One - no, it doesn't always rain in Paris. Two - Orly airport has been in use for many years. It served as the primary airport for Paris before Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport was built. I remember flying from London Heathrow to Orly and then being bussed from Orly across Paris to Le Bourget for the Paris Air Show in the mid 1970s.

A321 neos are actually heading in the direction of replacing the 757-200, in my opinion. It s got almost the same range (but just a bit shorter) as well as its better fuel efficiency. It can make the hop from NYC to various European cities with ease. It ll be interesting to see what happens to some older aircraft like the 757 and 767 in the next 10-20 years.

Hmm, looks like those seats are based on the same seats on the older KLM Boeing 777s. I suppose in a single aisle plane, harder to fit seats with all aisle access, whilst also allowing couples to sit together. Also, is it me, or is the plane being a bit slower and taking 8. 5 hours a bonus? On business class, I kinda like the experience being stretched out!

The new/old at Orly is fascinating. I d say well the Olympics and Paralympics are coming but yeah I don t think it s going to be all new for that. Although they did decide lately that Orly will be a primary entry point to so athletes, staff and media will be able to validate their credentials there, originally it was just going to be CDG.

I did grad school in France and for some reason my university paid for American students to go home during the December holidays on this airline. It was during the lockdowns and I was one of three people on the flight. It was the greatest flying experience of my life. Highly recommend this airline. Thanks for letting me reminisce a little, Jeb.

I never understand why there is always so many cubby holes for storage. Its like enough to empty ya suitcase. Personally for me the most I would have out is my laptop, phone and two go pro's and my massive Anker battery pack and my Sound Blaster Evo headphones. So barely would use any of the space they have.

Same style of seats as the last generation of Continental's BusinessFirst seats. Having the window seat is quite the ballerina act like Jeb mentioned and I angered my neighbor on SYD-IAH because of a slight misstep that caused me to trip into his knees which were jutting out into the aisle.

Honestly, Transatlantic is no big deal if it's the Northeast US to western Europe. It's barely longer to go from SF to BOS than it is to go from BOS to LHR. That being said, I want widebodies for longer trips. Or, at least, Premium Economy or something like this all business class.

Just came off an overnight Air France business class 777-300ER from Miami to Paris. Great flight and crew.
When I exited the gate to go catch my connection, the agent saw my Hello Jetsetters t-shirt and told me that her English was limited but that the shirt was beautiful.

When you were looking out over the airport at Paris-Orly I couldn't help but think of Charles Lindbergh's arrival at Paris-Le Bourget in 1927. The differences made in 96 years have been incredible and I can only imagine what Lindbergh would have thought of your trip versus his own

Never cease to amaze me, I didn't realize there was an airline with just strictly business class. Every airline should do it, but instead they want us crammed in like sardines just to make more money. Smh. And Merry Christmas to you and Suzanne and happy new year

I ll take Paris with cool and rainy weather ( fall through spring) over summer heat wave any day. Looks like a great option for getting to Paris. As you stated, not the cheapest way to get there, but for business class comfort its price is excellent.
