13 Hours on the UK'S LONGEST Sleeper Train

And the second and Last time, it was because, on that date i had no option left. But i remenber doing that trip, sick of my stomach, Just because of the 183& that i payed, knowing if i didnt missed the plane (to be fair, it was my fault, which angry me more, i would had payed 37& on Easyjet, from Bristol to London.
Since them, and until 2010, i always took the plane. And i was doing that, route 4 times a year.
Trains in the UK, no thanks.
PS: Noel, taking a shower with glasses on. Its a first.

Loved Ft William, we coached it. And into the Isle of Skye which was interesting for a few hours.
After seeing ur vid, love to take the relaxing and completely comfortable CS train.
Perhaps next year, will have to make plans to do Euston to Ft Wm!

BA used to do nice ones in F with large bottles of Floris products, but that was in the 90s - eons ago & things do chge.

You should do one broadcast just for British people. Speak in the thickest accent you've got, make references that only British would recognize, and bring along someone like Johnny Rotten to provide color commentary. In other words, instead of striving for universal appeal, make one video that is as provincial as provincial can be. You can say terrible things that only Brits will understand, and for once, not have to say Bath-Room, which your language palette clearly doesn't like, for an entire video. It will be a classic!

As a Scottish expat this is one of the journeys I am most jealous to watch and Im not even a patriot at all (hence the EXpat) but this makes me a bit homesickin a good way.

Just had an idea. Why dont you go on an epic Planes, trains and automobiles where you try to match the movie of that name as closely as possible.

Thr other day I was watching your video of your train journey from howrah Kolkata to Bangalore Karnataka. From your experience i can say it was terrible. But it costed your around 10 % of this fare. In india if Indian railways starts charging your 40000 rupees for one way journey of 13 hrs. The facilities would be double of what you got on this train

My wife and did this trip just before the new carriages came into use. Slept like a log.
We got delayed for 59 minutes stuck in a station in the middle of nowhere. Can't remember which one. Got 50% back of what we paid
You should have gone on to Mallaig even more stunning scenery.

Excellent vid Noel, really enjoyed it. Two QQs is it possible to ajar the window? Thinking about venting the room otherwise it could be very stuffy especially for two people, and secondly is there any hanging space/options in the room? Many thanks!

Calling a city where everything closes at 3am and even the public transport stops a city that never sleeps is a bit. ehh.
That train is amazing though. I'm gonna keep that in mind for when I go to the UK again with someone.

Did this exact route with the Caledonian Sleeper last September 2021. I was in a regular seat but they upgraded me to a sleeper cabin since it was empty! Thank you Caledonian Sleeper, had a good sleep on my way back to London

Noel, you ought to take the wife on the Caledonian Sleeper at some point.
Maybe get her a ticket for a Christmas or Birthday present sometime. I am sure she would love to sit down to breakfast with such stunning scenery.

when you do a video like this you really should get your facts right. The train you were on does not go near Edinburgh. It splits up just over the Scottish border, one part going to Edinburgh and another going to Glasgow

It isn't the end of the line Noel, it goes on to Mallaig and THAT is the end of the line. BTW Bridge of Orchy is pronounced Bridge of Orky!
Anyway it's a journey I'd love to do one day. Thank you for the upload!

Something I definitely want to experience one day. Rather do this than the much more luxurious and expensive Royal Scot service as I don't want to chat and get to know fellow passengers during dinner and drinks!

If only the side of the train where the bed was could be a window. I do remember them having rooms like that available, but most of the rooms are like yours was when i went on it.

I took the sleeper up to Scotland when I was a kid in 1984. There's something magic about a long train journey in comfort. Big windows and a relaxing pace. Nice one Noel.

I live lineside just north of Wigan and these trains pass by my house at speed in the middle of the night, though I've never traveled on one. They look very comfortable.

I'm always struck by how narrow UK trains are with that tiny loading gauge. Nice train tho, even if one can't stretch out in the bed due to loading gauge.
