Inside EVA Air's INSANELY PRICED Business Class

Inside EVA Air's INSANELY PRICED Business Class lawrence: Flew Business with them recently Bangkok to London, it was strikingly mediocre. The food was terrible, mostly, and we were served breakfast at 7pm as we arrived in London - yes, that's right, congee and cereal. The Chicken with Red Cheese was worse than Seven Eleven. It was all pretty baffling for $4500. Inflight internet, paid for - never materialized. No turn down service. No wheelchair sent to lounge at Heathrow. Their customer service, as many have noted, is fascinatingly non-existent. As in, non-existent. After weeks of trying emails, fax and phone with not a single reply I one day left the phone on the call for 7 hours and went to work. When I returned it was still ringing. This means you can virtually never redeem their miles if, for example, you misplace your card. And if you have any other kind of problem, forget it - you are on your own. All in all, they are in steep decline because they used to be great. I could forgive one of two off these issues at any given moment, but taken altogether I felt the price was a huge rip-off, the only real benefit being that the flight was direct. They are not good value for money since you can fly Q Suite in Qatar for the same or even less, and they are a vastly superior product.

EVA Business Class (aka Premium/Royal Laurel Class) has definitely gone down hill. The quality of the meals were definitely better during the Chang Kuo-Wei era -- 2016 and prior, before he got booted and started StarLux Airlines. You'll get individual courses on plates not multiple items on a heating tray. Champaign was Dom Perignon and the Lobster Claw Appetizers were a favorite. They also have Ding-Tai-Feng beef noodles in a ceramic bowls available on demand as a snack; now they have cup noodles.

I used to fly them 34 times a year between SFO and TPE. The last time I flew with them was Aug 2022 in Royal Laurel Class.

Just don't fly economy. Worst experience I've ever had on an airline. Passengers were atrocious, filling the overhead lockers with their duty free shite. The cabin crew said unapologetically that we should shove our bags between our legs. Attendent kept speaking chinese to my wife even though she new she was Japanese. My wife said, I speak English not chinese. But the crew kept speaking in chinese. Yet they spoke in English to me. Terrible terrible experience and very uncomfortable seating.

As someone who lived in Taiwan for many years, there's a reason why EVA air is so expensive for those outside the country. Because everyone in Taiwan knows someone who can get you a cheap business class ticket on EVA. It's the most contact based business environment in the world. Face and brownie points mean everything in Taiwanese culture. So someone buying from the outside, is going to pay a premium, especially for the one Taiwanese airline that doesn't crash all the time.

Noel, I really enjoy your videos very much. I used to be an air steward for Lufthansa in the early 70's and still travel a lot. Mostly economy sometimes Business class. One thing I dislike. Get a microphone that you don't hold in one of your hands. Use one of those head mikes instead. More freedom for your hands and probably a better sound. Love your dry English humor. All the best, Michiel Drommel - The Netherlands.

One of the best business class experiences weve ever had (SFO-TPE-BKK. The catering out of SFO was phenomenal, which is very unusual as most other airlines have pretty tasteless catering out of SFO. Convenient connection in TPE that got us into BKK around noon. Only issue weve ever had with EVA is that their TOE-SFO flights seem to universally board and depart late.

No need to apologize--sleeping is fine! That breakfast served on the transpacific leg though looks very odd.
I've never used EVA as a transfer airline, but I will say that as an OD (origin-destination) passenger flying out of Taipei, EVA almost always comes in as the most expensive option available.

I have transmitted through Houston airport many times my most recent experience with immigration In Houston was when I returned home from a trip to Nairobi I flew via Frankfurt and the immigration line wasn't long but it took an eternity the reason why was because there was a shortage of immigration staff

slight correction the GE90 is not wider than a 737 fuselage which is around 3. 8 meters wide and 4 meters high while the GE90 has a diameter of around 3. 4 meters. The GE9X for the 777X is wider than the 737 fuselage though with a diameter of around 4. 1 meters

Hi, your videos are all stunning and very interesting. If you could maybe look into adjusting your input volume for the music that would be great as my ears almost fall off. There is a big difference between your music and voice input. Thanks and greetings from Frank

Thank you for this great review. My husband and I are actually going to Indonesia this weekend for 3 weeks, and we will be flying with EVA Air in their business class from Toronto! Hopefully, the weather is much more nicer than the snow we had here just this morning.

Love your videos you keep reminding me when flying was really flying. HS Trident, B707 or DC8 and the best of engines of all the Avro Victor. And that smell of jet fuel burning and all the molecules of the body shaking, together with the rivets. that was flying!

Flew EVA air from Toronto, Ontario to Taiwan. 15. 5 hours, then from there to Bangkok. The staff was incredible. 0 jet lag going over, ALLLLL of the jet lag coming home lol also, I agree, it's not worth the money at all. Cost a small fortune for a return flight.

Its like youre actually championing the vaccine passport crazy that people like you exist. Virtuous beyond belief. Dont even realize the type of world youre setting up for our children. The tracking, control and loss of freedoms. Shame on you.

What happened to your editing Noel.
The wobbly musak was near three times as loud as your voice.
You normally have that kind of thing sorted.
I have to be quick with the volume slider.
Content was great as always.

So I recently flew business from Kathmandu to Cleveland on United. The cost was over$6k. And that was the cheapest flight I could find. Combining miles and cash wasnt an option. How do you do it for so much less?

How is this video 3 months old, but he's talking about needing a vaccine document to come into the United States? I haven't needed a vaccine anything in Texas especially for the past 3 years almost
