We went back and forth with our pup as to whether to find a new home for her in South Africa, or put her through the scary and long process of bringing her to Australia. We couldn’t part with her so pet immigration it was. It was a really heart wrenching process: 6 months of vet visits in South Africa for bloods and vaccinations, then in to kennels for five days before departure. No direct flights so she was crated and flown to Singapore where she had an 11 hour layover, then flown to Melbourne for 10 days quarantine before finally being flown to us in Perth!
She was well looked after of course. but she developed a heart murmur which is now causing issues. No way to tell how these things will affect a doggo. Not an easy thing!
Australia is probably the hardest country to bring your pet in to. So many hoops to jump through, and so stressful on both pets and owners.
At the time we even tried to find out if it would be possible to get a birth on a ship and one of us travel with her! Sadly that option doesn’t exist. But, she is here with us now, at least.

About 20 years ago, while working as a consultant for some big US investment banks and pharmas, I spent a lot of time flying around on private jets. Mostly, with a giant US investment bank, advising them on projects in Asia. They had a company G5. It was magnificent, configured with a rear bedroom and a cabin that could be configured to sleep 3 more in the mid-section. It's surreal when you're sitting face to face with the CEO, a multi-billionaire, on the G5 and he's telling you about some of the proposals that crossed his desk. Like me, he was a keen motorcyclist and one flight he was telling me about the opportunity to buy Ducati. The company, not a bike. He said he rejected the deal because their business plan was to go cheaper, more mass market, and he thought that was the wrong way to go.
Surreal, but he was the most thoroughly down to earth guy!

I thought the Flight Attendant was going to stand at the top of the stairs and start calling Come on Noel. you can do it! Come on boy! LOL
What an interesting service! When I moved from Boston to Dallas, I had my 2 cats shipped and it's always longer than the flight time. My cats were in a large pet container for well over 6 hours, even though the flight was only 4 hours. Took them a few days to adjust. If I need to move cross country with pets again, I'll rent a car for that and stay at pet friendly hotels.
Or if I hit the lottery, I'll call these guys at k9jets. Cool video Noel! Hope Mila didn't leave a stink bomb and no, I don't want to know if she did.

I've flown with pups a couple of times, they were smaller pups so they could fit in a carrier under the seat in front of me- and my best answer to the potty question is TIMING, TIMING, TIMING especially when it comes to using pet relief areas at the airport and monitoring food and water intake (and knowing the signals WHEN to visit the pet relief area. Love this service idea! Probably won't be traveling with my two pups anytime soon (unless K9 jets has more domestic flights in the US)- they're happy enough with car trips though!

Not surprising tbh, especially on a route like a London-Dubai, it makes sense. Dubai at this point is mini-Britain given how expats/rich people now live out there. I like dogs, but ngl the American fiasco re 'emotional support animals' sounded awful & was abused widely. Not pleasant for the wider cabin. How does it work with the PJ animals, is it discounted I imagine it's heavily publicised on any routes I can imagine rich folks throwing a hissy hit if there was a random dog/cat running around. rightly so.

When I left Dubai 20 years ago my biggest concern was how to get our dog to Spain safely. There were too many horror stories on the web about what happens when they fly in the cargo hold. Thankfully Air France allowed you to take small dogs in the cabin as carry on! Our small dog was charged as excess baggage(he was only 4kg) and we arrived safely in Malaga via 2 Air France flights and our dog never left our sight.

Many airlines won't transport pet animals at all or only at certain times of the year and locations due to the heat they may be exposed to causing expensive liability lawsuits from angry customers who's pets die or made very ill in transit. Many pets also don't do well in a cage for hours on end, giving them serious traumas. This may be the only alternative, especially from a year-round hot climate as found in Dubai.

I have traveled with my dogs and cats and it is stressful. I have also flown many flights as a companion for dogs and cats for adoption or people moving. It’s a joy doing that. Much less stressful for them and for me. I have been looking for alternatives for flights because the CDC and commercial airlines have either banned pet travel or made it extremely difficult. I will be considering this airline. Thanks

Having been an airline baggage handler, I really love seeing this. It’s awful putting animals in a cargo bin. I’ve seen many of them show up upon arrival with baggage that has fallen onto their crate, on top of the whole terrible experience. I know we don’t always have a better option, so I’m not throwing shade at people that have had to do it, but I don’t think I could after seeing how bad it is for them,

I thought I had gone barking mad when you said it was an airline for dogs.
But seriously though what a great idea and would definitely take my Border Collie ( Barney ) on this flight.
Barney wouldn’t like the jet engine sounds either although he would never say no to a treat or a pat.
His only requirement would be that he gives everyone a total fluffing, face and ear wash.

Was absolutely thrilled to see this review! I'll be flying into Farnborough from New Jersey later this year with my own dog and information about this airline is quite sparse compared to their significantly more popular competitor. Thus far I've been very impressed with K9 Jets and how responsive they are and this really helps to give me a bit more information on what I can expect

Hi Noel,
Great flight. I think there is another pet airline called Bark Air. (Not sure if this is the correct name. I wonder if all types of pets are welcome on the plane you rode in. I'm sure that Mila was excited and her ears probably where not used to the air pressure. She was a better girl than my three dogs would have been.

Barking, absolutely barking! My dogs have to put up with UK railway services.
One trip was a rail replacement bus Leicester to Luton with less leg room than a Ryanair flight for our four legged one.
This is an amazing concept and, as you say, the price point is similar to much more stressful journeys for the dogs.

We did this type of charter from Farnborough to Teterboro in New Jersey in 2022 for our 2 cats, they also had 6 dogs on board. Great service, no catering though on that one. so less stressful for the animals! $7k for 2 cats and 1 human. cheaper than the hold and a seat for the human. no brainer really!

I just noticed you have an old Eastern Airlines logo on your wall. I worked for Eastern in the 80’s and met my wife who was a flight attendant attendant with the them. I also grew up as an airline brat my father worked for them for 25 years until they closed their doors after filing bankruptcy.

How cool is this! When you arrived at the airport it looked like gave sites lined up in the background. I am dreading the day I am on a plane with dogs, not that I dont like dogs its the people handle them. Great video again. Have a grreat 2025, Thank you

Nice video Noel! I thought you'd fly with Bark Air, since they are an airline for dogs. However, Bark Air is based over at the United States, so I'd suggest flying with Bark Air in the near future on a flight from New York - Los Angeles.

Love the info. Very interesting. One thing though: don't you ever do any quality checks on your videos The audio balance in parts was terrible. couldn't even hear you! Even at the end the music drowned out your voice.
