Thoroughly enjoying these videos of your journey. Your personality is vibrant and infectious. Love the way you interact with all the people you meet. The filming and editing seem very professional to me. I'm a long time hiker, day hiker now, backpacker long ago but never did any through hiking. Seems like an extremely challenging but satisfying enterprise. Love hearing your voice as it reminds me of home. Alabama was certainly not a hotbed of outdoor activity when I was growing up long ago. Thank you for sharing all this. I hope you are able to do as many of these through hikes as you desire.

First time seeing your videos. I've watched 5 today. They are great. I'm a 65 year old long time hiker but never a thru hiker. You do a fabulous job with these videos. You have the most beautiful smile and wonderful personality. I admire your toughness and courage. As a dad of three grown girls, I am so proud of you for chasing your dream. You are such a stud!

Dixie, I'm going back through and watching your videos for the thousandth time! Its ironic that the mountain was so purple on Easter, the typical color for Easter (in Christianity) is a violet purple color. Also, HOW have you never eaten corn nuts? I have a huge bag at my desk at work I snack on all day long.

I think I would enjoy hiking the AT or PCT. You are getting real food just about every other day? I live close to the CDT and it is so far between any civilization out here. You don't see nearly as many people or fun places to eat.

I just learned that we had friends on this trail. Roughly 55'ish. The guy's wife got tired and she told them to go on. She ended up dying. I'm guessing this was at a portion way up in the mountains where there was no relief.

I have been studying the PCT and considering sections. I really appreciate your videos. It has brought it alive for me! So many questions still, but getting a better idea of what I dont need.
