Competition has come and gone, but one American performance car has kept at the game: Mustang. With Camaro gone and Charger more muscle car than sports car, how does the Mustang fit in Well, more and more it is turning into an American BMW. Hmm. Here's why we don't talk about reliability much: And resale value Same thing:

Great video Alex!
I think one thing you didn't mention on the '24 performance pkg. Is that you also can't get the paddle shifters anymore for '25-26.
That performance pkg option was a serious bargain and I totally agree it made it hard to step up $10k for the GT. I think it was a big mistake by Ford to drop that pkg.
Especially since they have everything on the parts shelf, just throw it in as an option if people want it. sheesh!

I have a 2019 Ecoboost Premium convertible with the six speed manual. It is way more fun than the 24-26 Ecoboost that is automatic only, and the gauges and controls are much easier to use. Sorry Ford, but I do not think the current model has any real improvements. I would advise folks to by a used 2018-2023 Mustang. And one big diff between the coupe and convertible is there is headroom in the rear seat for Alex in the convertible.

I bought a 2024 GT Premium late last year that's identical to the center car in the picture you used while talking about the 2026 changes. I think you really downplayed one of the most important points, which is that it's one of the few cars sold in the USA still available with a manual transmission, which a significant part of why I bought the Mustang - that should have been on your Pros list, imo.

Mustang is no longer affordable. Ford killed this car with it pricing. $50k for a base Mustang GT is insane after destination. All this while changing nothing on the car for the past 10 years. These price increases are insulting on a car whose tooling was paid for already years ago. Meanwhile Ford reports record profits

I had a '15 Ecoboost mustang with a 6sp manual, and it was a great car. Sad they no longer offer the manual with it. I now have a '23 BRZ which I love. Not a HWY cruiser like the Mustang, but much more fun on canyon roads. Super surprised you can no longer buy a White Mustang. Perhaps the first time ever

You can buy new at discounts at the end of month and end of year assuming any on the lot that are getting close to the magic 90 days cap for the dealer financing. Dealers must dump these beauties or else lose big bucks! Discounts are nice if they’re not selling quickly.

Dude know your automotive history before you make one of these videos. The Dodge Charger and challenger have always been big muscle cars. All cars in the 1960’s and 1990’s were big. They didn’t have a lot of suvs back then. They had station wagons and minivans.

Maybe this is heresybut this car with a hatchback/liftback, and a second set of doors, seems like it could be a winner. I’m not keen on 2-door coupes since they aren’t practical day to day. It’s the one thing keeping me from seriously considering a Mustang.

Just throwing this out there can the ONLY really be considered the best
Really
If nothing else competes with it, it wins by default. But, that’s not really how the word is used. Without comparison and competition the title of best is meaningless.

$52k for a 4-cylinder Mustang. if someone stepped out of a time machine from 12 or 13 years ago, they would think Ford has gone crazy. You could get a GT500 for less than that back then.

Last Well then what is the Corvette Cadillac is currently making the 2 best sport sedans on the planet, next time don’t use click bait that’s clearly a lie smh

Thank you for this great, thorough video. Love the look of the new body style and the big cockpit screens now. Been seeing a lot of these around my area of Georgia.

With that ugly long tablet glued to the dashboard dual screen setup it certainly is not the best. What a cheap, low budget, McD's toy-grade interior design.

Nothing have changed in last 5 years for mustang except the price.
Base Mustang GT 6 speed was 34k and now it starts at 47k.

How can the combined mpg be 26 if the city and highway miles are both lower than that number Typo
Also no manual transmission

reply

FORD American They sold us out decades ago! An automaker record breaking number of recalls 104 in 2025 aloneand counting!
