My 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Finally Arrived - Here's What I Got! Al13n1nV8D3R: The reason why so many dealers do a markup on these is because idiots who have too much money burning a hole in their pocket are buying these Trucks 15k markup. If no one buys their cars at that price the price would go down. Vote with your wallet do not let these stealerships get away with this. Markup is ridiculous. The minute you drive off the lot your truck depreciates, so you loose like 15k right away and if you bought it at 15k markup? Your looking at 30k in the hole if you decide to return it or resell it.

There was not a problem with the dealership. They simply got caught. Hopefully the notice addendum Ford just sent out has an effect. Now if a dealership gets three offenses Ford will cease all inventory shipments to them, effectively cancelling them as a Ford dealership.
Hopefully they do so in my area. All of our Ford dealers are charging 18-20k on Mavericks. Yes, Maverick XL's are being sold for 40k. Twice their MSRP. And funny that we have a Frontier Ford in my area, which is not in California. And ours is terrible, too.

This is exactly why manufacturers have to offer their customers the option to buy their vehicles directly from them. The auto dealership states monopoly must come to an end. This is the 21st century. We buy everything online. The vast, vast majority of dealers are owned by multi-million and multi-billion dollar auto groups. They are NOT mom and shop dealers. We must start electing politicians in Washington that they, or their families, don't own dealerships like it happens to be the case right now.

I dont understand why this is even a question. The Rivian is faster, better looking, better interior, far better features, more unique, and more desirable. The Ford is just another F150 but with a better drivetrain. It may tow better, but do you really need to spend 80k just to tow? And if you did, you d buy a diesel that tows better than either EV. Or you d buy an 8000 Durango.
I d give my left nut to have either of those trucks, but if I had to pick one, it s no contest. Rivian.

Oh, good. I am not the only one noticing the slight misalignment to the light bar.
It would annoy me to initially, but being slightly autistic I would think the slight crooked light bar gave the truck personality.
As long as everything else worked 100% I would not mind.
I rather have a cosmetic flaw then an expensive work flaw.

I appreciate you discussing the shady double-talk about dealer markup. I think you're letting them off a little easy, because it sure sounds like they only took off the markup after they learned who you were.
I actually don't have a problem with dealer markup, but I do have a problem with dealers having a double-standard on who pays it.

The point of the dealership model was to fight for consumers and protect us from the evil car manufacturers who will surely try to rob us I absolutely detest and hate dealerships, for me destroying the dealership model only comes second to curing cancer, stop buying cars from these mofos! Let them die a fast and painful death!

Congrates and yeah Ford should let people change the dealer as long as the vehicle is not shipped. Still nice of them to include stuff with your MSRP purchase! And I would have loved to have seen you long term reveiw the base base version as that is the one I considering but still a make is a make after all.

As a person who has been recently shopping for a mere hybrid SUV, I must say that as an owner of now two different electric pickups trucks, you might want to turn your talents for obtaining the unobtainable to the search for dark matter, or maybe the Lindbergh baby, or world peace, possibly.

Frontier Ford has my order for an Expedition and they pledged no markup on my car when I placed the order many many months ago. It's scheduled to be built in August.
I wish I had known about Fremont Ford pledging no markup on any car. I've been worried Frontier is going to change their mind.

Unfortunately, analysts believe it will take 2 years for components, manufacturing, shipping, inventory, and finally prices to return to normal. I'll bet you make a profit on either truck in 9 months and it's a good reminder to us all. Take care of your car and keep full insurance coverage.

Did I hear that right. You got an EV6, and the lightning, and the rivian? And you released a rivian video where you said you were deciding between the recently purchased Durango and the rivian.
So four purchases in the last couple years. What is your plan here?

What dealers do not pledge not to do is sell your special ordered vehicle out from under you when someone comes into the dealership with a huge bag of cash. Ask Bronco special order holders who do not pick up their trucks the day the truck arrives at the dealer.

Hey Alex, I d say keep the lightening as a back up house battery. you are after all off grid. At least this way you have rtable generator. FYI, over where we live, and my personal opinion most American cars aren t reliable (and I own a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014)

Did anyone catch the Ford announcement of the F150 Lightning POLICE version? It's only a Base Model (Pro) with the small battery pack but it looks So COOL as a Police vehicle with all the flashing lights and Paint job! Look for the F150 Lightning SS PRO!
