Hey Eric I wrote it already but have you ever thought about the install a heat pump /AC unit to your shop I saw a AC like unit in your office. The newer units are pretty efficient and can cool and heat. So they fit perfectly for your shop. Especially during cold weather in autumn or end of the winter (above freezing) they can heat as. Sure for arctic temperatures you still have the furnace /heater.
Even here in Germany where electricity is pretty expensive, more and more people let those units install. Sure solar panels would be a good addition to it and maybe it can feed your shop with electricity. In winter times with snow it's doesn't work good but on cloudy days you still can get few kilowatt hours. My parents have one new solar panel setup on the roof in the northeast /east direction (not the best for solar panels) and batteries. Since March/April until now we had 90%or more of less electricity from the grid. Our problem is often that we even can't consume all the electricity and batteries are already full. But We still use quite a lot electricity for cooking and soon a electric vehicle, also because of the new fresh water heat pump for like showering purposes (my grandparents get washed by a health care service every day)
It's not for free but it's a very solid and substantial investment because you gain more independence and over the years you will get a saving /pay back. Like your business you run literally everything (except the hot vic - torch) by electricity, therefore your demand is high and like I wrote before you can save money!
I heard stories from companies here in Germany where they got in trouble every time the oil and natural gas prices went up. They switched over time to electric stuff and reduced their demand because they produce their own energy!

A bit of what was at least at one time insight into the enshitification of aftermarket parts.
When I worked for one of the biggest US aftermarket parts houses they were really focused on the appearance of consistency while also looking like an even bigger operation than they were, so they brought out all these house brancds that they marketed as OE quality or better. Sometimes they were, sometimes they weren't, but they would contract with different mfgs for different makes. Sometimes even with the companies that did make the OE parts, then it would be packaged in their own packaging. Thing is, these contracts weren't always super long, so you would find the same PN in the same box but made by more than one manufacturer when they couldn't get a contract they liked (usually they wanted a cost decrease compared to the last contract) so in pursuit of the appearance of consistency, you end up with the opposite and sometimes what was legitimately a good part would be replaced with lowest bidder junk. Big business is a race to the bottom and the absolute last priority is quality.

I don't know why the brake light switch reminded me of it, but I had a Santafe come back (from a buddy) blaming me for their lights acting crazy or cursed as he called it, after installing a trailer brake controller. It isn't even connected to what was wrong, so I knew it wasn't that. The turn signals didn't work right, the brakes would make the running lights come on all around, no apparent brake lights, but what looked like running lights to me came on with the pedal. I learned he bought a used taillight housing around the time this all started. Someone had put a single filament bulb in a dual filament socket, shorting both contacts together, and his mechanic installed that on his car, wrong bulb and all. I can't help but wonder if that used housing came from a car that got scrapped because it had wiring problems. The mechanic was ready to rewire the car for him, but it would have cost more than the car was worth. Cost of repair, nothing, I have tons of those bulbs and they don't fit anything we run anymore. The story was worth my time.

saw you diagnosing a map sensor, sure would like to get an answer on this. So I use a launch crp919e i think, its from launch and a thinkdiag dongle. launch showed 9. 75 BARO and MAP 9. 75 both psi. i due hours of diag. im a diyer. replace sensor and pigtail. sensor, old oem, benchtest fine. But on the OBD2 port I get the 14. 76 psi BARO and 14. 76 psi MAP it goes down to 5psi at idle. Even when I checked the MAP sensor with the new pigtail before its hooked up to ecu, its only outputting 3. 9 at my multimeter. I got a 2019 KIA and im told the ECU uses the raw data from OBD2 and I have no codes. Is it just the scan tool really wish he had a thing where wed could pay him an amount to ask for his knowledge on simple things like this.

Eric, I get no audio or progress bar on YT home screen on this video. It's hit or miss with your vids. The home screen will play entire vid without any ad interruptions. Zoom in chrome to 150% to enlarge viewing area and hover mouse over vid preview. Love it. No YT ads to skip. I've commented before about this.
I have no idea, but will you please review the settings on your uploads What's different from the vids that do function fully compared to this one Low hanging fruit on Mazda worked fine. Maybe its just my viewing method to remove all commercials and ads from my life environment. Not easy. Its a war I tell ya! They are persistent and everywhere. THX

I honestly think I can beat that today. 2015 Land Rover discovery four replace a burnt out bulb in the rear dome light replaced a burnt fuse to the interior lights and now the immobiliser is completely shut down. I mean deader than a door nail. Or Kelsey’s nuts. . I had to have it towed to a shop because my scan tool will not do the immobiliser do I win
Toyota is notorious for having single note horns. I don’t know why. But I do know that Hella makes a very dandy dual note horn that’s much louder and commands much more present than the stock Toyota horns.

Goooood afternoon kids! Mr O. Boy it was a fun one today. Oil pan on a 2007 Liberty 4x4, tail lights on a 2015 Accord and a 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 for some brake bleeding. A regular calls me up and says his grandson put brakes, rotors and calipers on his Ram and cannot get them to bleed. I crawled in it, and yep, that brake pedal shot straight to the floor. So I backed it in the shop, grabbed a creeper and slid under it, and guess what I found boys! Just guess! I bet you will never guess what I found as soon as I slid under it.

6: 30 I didn’t know that! I thought that they all used the same horn. I’ve seen some European cars with a city horn and a separate horn for the highway. I like to point out the neat stuff that you teach us all of the time, because I want you to know how much I get out of your videos, especially the ones where you think that it is an insignificant piece of information. Also, I was totally thinking the horn switch, not the clock spring, so yes I did enjoy the diagnostic process that you showed us. Thank you Mr. O! Say hi to Ms. O!

I love watching his videos. Reassures my division back in 71 that working on cars for a living was about to suck. Can’t even imagine what it is like as an owner. I had no insensitive to sell anything that wasn’t needed but listening to all the whining about the cost of repairs drove me crazy. I just had to follow battery and ground back then. No computers or micro switches

Good video! Anything related to chasing harness/wiring problems are my favorite. I just finished solving an intermittent AC blowing hot-cold-hot. Chased it to a raggedy 2 wire connector on the solenoid in the compressor. I'm an R-12 era guy and the control valve compressors with R-134a are new to me so old dog, new tricks applies! Watching from Texas.

So i am not only one that have find only bad horn wire on clock spring with Toyota, oh now; )
Yes it shocked me, but as we don't get many(mostly only dealer ones when i need one) aftermarket ones for clock springs the ones that fits(Part number) has worked correctly.
No problem! But then again i don't leave in USA.

I was lucky(not) to have to take apart the clock spring ribbon cable from my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawke. I was able to repair my turn signal switch return function but went down the wrong road by taking the whole thing apart. Took me a few days to get the ribbon cable back into place properly. Keep up the good work!

I'm assuming that the codes you have for evap are 100% related to the canister. I would have liked to know the process behind. How often you see a clock spring go bad It's quite expensive im assuming. Also arent you scared that the airbag is going to explode in your face when you mingle with it gosh it would be my death.

Toyota clockspring: I had the same issue with a 2011 4runner. Not something you would do for a customer, but I was able to re-pin the connector on both ends of the clockspring, to use a previously un-used wire. Horns been working for several years now. $0 fix, if you have unused lines thru the clockspring.

Excellent idea to check the panic horn. That should help a lot. Very good diagnosis. I don't know what a clock spring is. Weren't they made in the 1800's Wow, those things are not cheap. You say that nobody outside of Toyota knows how to make them I think that's the sad state of affairs today.

Little Air Bag has totalled more cars than the accidents it's deployed in. I hate them. I was punched in the nose by Little Air Bag as it totalled my pickup. Great tune Mr. O. I heard that Warner Bros. is hiring. Thanks for all of your diagnostic videos. I'm sure they help thousands.

The clock spring is the first part I'd check. They are subject to a lot of mechanical movement. I wish they could make them better. Just a little bit of debris wipes them out. The only troubleshooting tool I'd need is a power probe. You can't beat it for chasing simple on/off circuits.

See I knew all those warnings about disconnecting the battery or pulling the airbag fuse before removing the airbags was BS.
J/K. The man's got bigger stones than I; I'd pull the negative cable before I'd start pulling the airbag. Obviously, Mr. O isn't trying to send a message here.
