New Porsche 911 GT3: The Truth!

Change your car with Carwow: The GT3 has been updated! Porsche has just lifted the lid on the mid-life facelift of the 911 GT3 & GT3 Touring, and Mat’s flown over to Germany to meet with the head of Porsche’s GT division to find out just what’s changed on the new car. Following the unveiling of the updated 911 earlier this year, Porsche fans may have been worried that the new GT3 would roll up with an updated, hybrid-powered engine. But we can officially confirm there is NO hybrid powertrain in the new GT3! It’s retained the same 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six as in the previous edition, and it still produces 510hp and 450Nm! In terms of the design, you’d be forgiven for thinking that hardly anything has changed on the new car. And in traditional 911 fashion, not much has! There’s an updated bumper and some new headlights at the front, while at the back the wing has been updated slightly, while there’s also a new set of taillights. Otherwise, it’s all pretty much business as usual with the new GT3. And of course, that’s no bad thing! On the inside, it’s all still traditional Porsche interior goodness. But there’s one BIG change with the Touring. For the first time ever, it’s available with a set of back seats! So it looks great, is 100% petrol-powered, and the practicality has improved. But of course, it doesn’t come cheap An all-new GT3 will set you back at least 157, 300! But is it worth it Stick with Mat and see for yourself!

For those who say the price has increased a lot and power has stayed the same understand this
To be able to continue to sell this type of car with new regulations etc. is an achievement in itself. look at GTRs, Audi r8 all cancelled
Also look at Ferrari they released new v12 cilindri vs superfast maybe 3% power bump likewise GT3
Once again Ferrari still releasing NA v12 with the new regulations is amazing so be greatful coz I am gt3 here I come been waiting for the 22 configuration. For those who can afford the Ferrari congrats I’m just happy with GT3-2 for less than half the price

My two favorite cars are Porches and Corvette’s! It’s the two cars you always see getting the crap beat out of them and just taking it like champs! Either one can be daily driven, drove to the track ran and drove home and right back to day to day driving! It’s as close to a daily driven race car you can live with! Any stiffer or harder it wouldn’t work as well! But they are just right both of them! New C8 is nice to! I would probaly take the vette just cause I live right down the road from the factory! If I was closer to the porches I would take one of those just as quick!

Nominal differences. thats a first for a. 2 GT3 at least everyone with a 992 won’t feel the need to trade up there is no up, IMO. Plus at a $40K bump up in price no more dealer markups. Interesting on multiple levels This from a Porsche guy who had a 991 & 992 GT3’s. BTW, anyone else noticed how Woke Porsche has become lately. A big DEI push have blatantly seen it at dealers in the SF Bay Area.

Mat I’ve a good drag race Idea the McLaren P1 vs Ferrari SF90 and The Lamborghini Revuelto S. When the car comes out because even though the the p1 was made in 2013, the stats of the car are really similar to the Ferrari SF90 and the Lamborghini Revuelto S will be have a chance against the SF90 instead of the normal Revuelto that you beat Yanni in. Just putting this out there.

Did porshe really forgot about gt2 rs of 992. 1 generation because we got new 911 generation, new 911 gt3 generation, where is gt2 generation. Gt2 rs from 2017 is my favourite porshe of modern times( 2010 onwards) so why do we have not gotten another generation of it we are keep getting new 911, gt3 generations.

Would go to 964 anytime, they went to a dead end to justify the pricing. They can never perform like EVs, so you need to carve weight and size, bring back those roughness bumpiness and the raw experience to make a chance in the ever fast changing world. They just miss the whole damn point, look at the new M5

You can tell that Andreas, like many Porsche enthusiasts, hates the visuals of the rear spoiler on the 992 Carrera and the GT3 Touring. Porsche should consider introducing a downforce-generating rear fan for the next version so they can delete the spoiler. And bring back the analog tachometer, of course.

Andreas is great, it is really nice having people from the iduatry talk about their cars. Like Porsches or not, we can only admire the work, the dedication, the technology that stand behind these cars. Porsche is simply unique, like no other. I really wish I could afford it one day. It will be a Targa.

Porsche will never lose its appeal or release a car that the community criticizes, unlike Ferrari, Mercedes, and other brands. They actively listen to customer feedback, as seen when they reverted from push-to-start to the toggle switch, which was favored. Well done, Porsche!

His thoughts on the youth loving porsche from young with back seats is so so true. When I was 7 I got in the back of my uncles porsche, since then they have been my favourite car brand and a personal dream and goal of mine.

I always thought that 992. 1 GT3 front always looked a little tame compared to a 991. 2 predecessor. I love that its way more sharper, yet subtle that doesnt really change the complete identitity of the car.

Dream dream dream car. There are many others who are good, great, cheaper etc. But not only that i love this car i love the whole company. I wish God would give me enough health so i can save and buy this car.

first time the facelift is worst than the predecesor: less torque 470nm vs 450nm, 2 more catalytic converters, more weight, analog rev counter replaced by a digital one and 40k usd more. Last NA gt3, enjoy

The EU commision is a mob that runs EU countries with laws that make no sense what so ever all based on propaganda and the elite who pays these bastards.
there is no reason to have these laws on cars none

I would not change a thing on the white winged car except the transmission (I'm addicted to manuals. They really perfected the 992 design. Looks clean, timeless and aggressive all at the same time.

911 gt3 is the best car of human history! That’s all
However the new seat look like tooooo much bmw M seats ( and also sparco seats)
I long prefer more the old seats!

reply

Honestly those back seats are maybe not very useful, but just folding them down to make a 2 seater with a big and long luggage area is a big deal for long roadtrips etc.

I've been moaning about the GT3 missing rear seats for years. Then i moaned about Porsche over pricing the S/T. No I may be have to put my money where my mouth is.

So many details were missed. This was more of a synopsis rather than a breakdown. watch everything great about dune part 2 if you truly want a breakdown.
