Mat s once again got his hands on the HUGE Hennessey Mammoth, and he s about to find out what it s like to live with when undertaking everyday tasks in the UK! You see, driving one of these in America probably isn t an issue, given their huge highways. But here in the UK, roads are much smaller! So will Mat be able to cope? Well, it s time to find out! He ll start off driving it through small streets in a countryside village, after which he ll be visiting a retail park to try out a few different tasks. The question is, will he end up damaging the Mammoth? And more importantly, how many people do you think he ll annoy in this gas-guzzling behemoth! You ll need to keep watching to find out!

The couple in the compact were rude. Nobody put a gun to their heads to make them pull behind a pickup. And what do they expect Matt to do, stop getting gas so they can go? Blowing the horn isn't going to accelerate the process. When people do that to me, I go even slower. Like Matt said, the van driver could just as easily have backed up.
Anyway, when you get in line for gas (or any check out line for that matter) it takes the time it takes. I've waited in lines for 20 min. to make a purchase that too me 1 min. Next time go to the filling station early in the morning or late at night rude couple in the compact.
One more thing, gasoline is the same for everyone. The difference in price is the cost of taxes per nation.

I can't decide whether to laugh or lament at how squeamish people in the west get if they aren't well over a meter away from every single thing around their car while driving.
Each and every one of the supposed close calls that Matt had while driving that Hennessey around town is what we in Asia would call having acres of room. Even an inch of space between two vehicles wouldn't be enough to get us panicking. Perhaps Matt was being catious as the Hennessey isn't his and is genuinely enormous, but still, looked like he always had plenty of room.

Gas is short for Gasoline, being a refined crude oil (engine fuel) for combustion engines. Across the pond we do have an oil company called Petro-Canada, they refine crude oil into Gasoline/Engine fuels.
Petro is short for Petroleum, which is just crude oil. not a refined product for combustion engines.
Was there a bit of insinuation that we are the ones that are unrefined in that question?

Other than making a goofy video, would you ever have any use for such a big truck where you live? Where I live, of course, they're everywhere and I drive a Golf Estate (Alltrack) around town. More often than not, it can be hard to find in a parking lot since it disappears behind everything. Put an SUV on either side of it and I might never find it again.

I had a similar truck (GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with a 7 inch lift) as my daily driver for several years in Central Europe. Other road users were not angry at me, they were usually way too busy being frightened. Sometimes I helped with my train horn. Good memories.
Very entertaining film. Thanks a lot.

We call it gas because it's just the shortened version of gasoline, which is what you're typically pumping at the, well, pump. petrol is short for petroleum and something you definitely don't want to run in a gas powered vehicle since petroleum is literally crude oil lol.

This was as great segment. Very old, Clarkson- Tio Top Gear vibe. The differences in what Americans deem normal Vs British Norms.
Edit: Also if that was Texas, when somebody honks, Its a fight, straight up.

Ok, I know this is for fun, but 70% of the problems shown are because the driver seat is on the left, and the rest is because nothing is designed for vehicles of that size in the UK from what I see.

Where do you find all the sunshine to film? I lived in Oxford for 2 years with the American military and found the sun to be quite rare! BTW that truck is a behemoth even in our country!
reply

Wow I could only imagine driving that beast on the roads in the UK. I bet some cities and places you wouldn t actually be able to get into because of how large the vehicle is.
reply

The people were mad not because of the taking time to fill up. But filling up twice and filming, showing the prices, the receipt, etc. In my country, you would end up dead Matt lol.

Why did he reverse into a petrol bay? I physically don't understand that manoeuvre. Instead of driving in, he went around all the pumps just to be a mug for the camera?
reply

I wonder how much did they pay the guy at the petrol station to beep and shout at Matt. The entire station was empty, normal person would just move to a free pump

the size of a pickup trerk is in inverse proportion to the size of the driver's penis. it's true. and that trerk, mat, is absolutely f in hooomungous. jus sayin; -)
