Can I beat a Ferrari in an M3?

Can I beat a Ferrari in an M3?

It's a question with an exciting answer. can a souped-up BMW M3 really challenge a 400k Ferrari SF90? We ve got Mat lining up in a modified G80 M3 today. It s powered by a 3. 0-litre twin-turbo straight-six which, from stock, puts out 510hp and 650Nm of torque. However, this one s had 8k of mods and is now running 750hp and 900Nm! Will it be able to put that extra power down, though? On paper, it doesn't look like a match for the Ferrari SF90. The Italian stallion is equipped not only with a 4. 0-litre twin-turbo V8, but three electric motors too! Combined, they deliver 1, 000hp and 800Nm. Weighing in at 1, 580kg (mind, that s a dry weight without fluids) it s lighter than the BMW too, which tips the scales at 1, 780kg. Fortunately for us, drag races don't happen on paper. Which will take the win? There s only one way to find out LET S RACE! ase: I would pay the extra money and buy the Ferrari because 1 that Bmw is ugly. 2 bmw will never keep its value. 3 after 10 years and 3 head gaskets and a engine replacement that bmw will end up in a scrap yard with the rest of them. my local yard has over 100 bmw cars and not one ferrari

Was the G80 using regular fuel and PS4S?
How a tuned G80CXD with a CSF manifold, does a 10. 1 in the 1/4? There are G80CXD with just DPs and a JB4 that are faster than that. IN the U. S. most tuned G80CXD are in the 9. 5-9. 9 range depending on how extensive they are modded. Most cars that I see with a CSF manifold are in the lower range(9. 1-9. 7. Just DPs, Midpipe, Drop in filters, and a custom E50 / RaceGas tune will usually put you in the 9. 8-9. 9 area, depending on tires+conditions. The CSF manifold + Heat exchanger alone add approx 100WHP throughout the RPM range compared to OEM manifold. MOTOIP did some great tests with that upgrade which they show their test data on their website. Then if you add PI, WMI, or NI which is why most people get the manifold + heat exchanger, ie its uncommon to see people get the CSF manifold and not have some form of secondary fuel or cooling. Though even if you dont use secondary fueling/cooling there is still a healthy improvement from the manifold+HEX.
Obviously there are a vast array of variables that determine outcome, but I was a little surprised a car with that pricey modification + tuned only ran a 10. 1, which I would perhaps conclude was due to a lower octane map was being used? Maybe 93Oct equivalent fuel was used, which would explain why it wasnt sub 10.
G80CXD are not very hard to get sub 10's. Even without an aftermarket manifold or secondary fueling. Such a high value for what you receive. I own a G80CXD and I absolutely LOVE IT! Best car Ive ever owned. One minute Ive got groceries in its spacious trunk and kids comfortably in their backseats, and when im not carrying precious cargo Im gapping C8's. Performance, versatility, driveability, practicality, its the complete package for Dads who want a performance car with the functionality of a sedan. BMW knocked it out of the ballpark with the new M3. This is my first BMW, but their build quality, performance, etc has made me an avid supporter of their brand. YOu get supercar level performance potential in a highly functional platform. Highly Recommended to anyone on the fence, definitely worth the price of admission: )

The Ferrari would whip the Bmers ass on the Nurbergring. No doubt about it. No Bmer road car had done a offical lap under 7. 00 seconds. The Ferrari Pista did it in 7. 0 dead and I believe the Sf90 would be faster than the Pista once it does a official lap.

Although I enjoy these races, nobody considering a Ferrari is also considering a BMW. There's an experience you're paying for that you'll never get with a BMW. Even a Porsche buyer isn't looking at BMW. Unless it's like a base boxster.

Farari sf90 is my dream car. but that bmw did do quite a good job against a beast like the sf90. but at the end of the day ill take the sf90 stock over a warmed up car. just cause the sf90 is my dream car amd its actually a freaking beast

Why is the sound quality on the exhaust clips always so low? There s no bass and every car sounds really tinny, this has been the case for every video. The in car sound quality is miles better, please do something with this carwow

M3 is tuned great. It's not easy to do. Yes, lots of horsepower is easy, but to get it smoothly on the road is another thing. Most tuned have shitty performance or break apart.

I want to see that M3 vs the 911 turbo s cause the fastest time you ve had out of a 911 was 10. 1secs too so it would be a close race and think the rolling races would be interesting
reply

Like the videos for few years now, but would you agree to improve the recording of the exhaust in the future during the sound check? This one was quite bad I have to say.
reply

The microphone on your end and speakers on my end I m certain don t do either car justice, but I imagine what it sounded like here is nothing like what it sounded like in person.

what's quicker in a drag race. or.
stock? the ferarri no quesiton about it.
now lemme see if i was right.
oooooh shockerrrrrrrrrr
what a pointless video this was

Did anyone else have a little voice in their head scream every time they showed the front end of the M3. My brain can't handle the visage of that giant blue german swine.

I wonder why the thousands of engineers in BMW couldn't put that much more HP and Nm in their cars when an outside tuner could dump a load more power with some mods

Most people are taught that you only need a good job to become rich. These billionaires are operating on a whole other playbook that many don't even know exists.

Bro Watson you re annoying sometimes so in the first race you don t claim the win, but because you lost the second time now you wanna claim the win be consistent

The BMW is a great car but why does it make that cheap click sound with the paddle shift. Fast car though but it sounds like a cheap game controller.
reply

As you would imagine the Ferrari demolishes the Bmer in a rolling race. For the money you would expect that. I would rather have the Italian Stallion.

Mat always downplays BMW weight. 1780kg just over 1, 7t. But other cars he'll say 1, 6t when it weighs 1530kg
And, the M3 sounds like shit.

reply

I'm far more impressed by that BMW,
If only they had the same BHP!
Remember that's one of the fastest Ferraris ever,
If not the fastest.

reply

Ive just gone from a F80 M4 CS to a X3M Competition only because I cant stand the face of the new M3. The engine and drivetrain are superb.
