Ever since we bought the Miata, its needed an alignment. Then we lowered it, and it needed one even more. Come along as Zach explains what an alignment is, why it matters, and even how to do one in the garage Its easier than you might think. Money Pit is where you get to learn about cars as we work on them. Each ep well breakdown how each component works and then well upgrade it. Join us in our journey to build cool cars, learn about them, and drive the crap out of them claudio: I really appreciate the job you are doing zack, you really put a lot of effort in money pit and a lot of hours, it needs patience for stuff like that and you seem to have a lot of it, i

Yeeaaaah so as a professional mechanic I'm going to strongly advise against doing your alignment at home like this. Pony up the 90 dollars to have a shop do it on a laser-guided rack that has access to manufacturer's suggested alignment specifications. I'm normally a huge proponent of DIY car repair, but this is just an irresponsibly bad idea that could result in altering your car's handling dynamics in unexpected and potentially dangerous ways.

I feel like those alignment plates lead to inaccurate readings, if they had 3 points of contact with the wheel it would better measure the angle of the wheel. Because with those you can sway side to side and the angle will seem like it's changed. A great video as always tho

I've done my own alignments for ages, but on my old cars, like 60s or 70s, even 80s, like golfs. Always worked a treat using just a straight edge and some string. On newer cars I've never tried, but I've only owned one and I never lowered it.

I swear I've always been trying to figure out what on earth the three parts of alignment each do for ages since I've gotten into tuning in racing games. This series is so damn useful Cheers guys

i watch this for 2 reasons. 1) popup headlights2) because of this, i might consider getting an mx5 myself, since dude is pumping out all types of videos to maintain this specific car anyways: D

wheel alighnments are only like 80 dollars cash only at many shops around my neighborhood. everything you did is a lot more work. sometimes you're better off paying a professional
