I hope the new c8 is reliable and has body stiffness without rattles and shakes. I think the looks are ok, but not a 10 at all. My top looking and handling sports car is also mid engine. The porsche cayman with the flat 6 is a much much better car and may be the best looking porsche since the origional speedster. The c8 seems like it has a lot of gimmicks. The electronic do dads are not my features on an ideal sports car. The driving experience is what i love. Doug, you gave very little info on the actual driving experience. The brakes and steering and weight shifts and ability to get thru wind at high speeds are all things i want to know about. The huge down side for me for the c8 is no manual transmission. I love to feel connected to the car by shifting. Not saying i am faster than a dual clutch, but lighter weight and way less heat to get rid of. The corvette problems the last generations have suffered from is overheating. I hope in a mid engine config that they managed heat in a better way. This is an impressive upgrade performance and value wise. The mid engine should have been done 15 years ago. But i think the car will be a huge success.

All that amazing technology. What could go wrong? Literally everything. It seems like every time I'm behind a newer G. M. vehicle some kind of light ( tail light, brake light, turn signal, running light ). If they can't handle L. E. D. lights, how are they going to keep this high technology going? Car is beautiful and fast and yes I'm the Old Codger that wants simplicity, but I am rooting for it to do well. Thanks for the review Doug.

This car is phenomenal and is historical in how cheap it is for how exotic of a car it seems, but I imagine this is not a great car for car guys. That engine bay looks horrible to work in, and I doubt it's easy to do even an oil change in. The C8 will be an important car for Corvette, but the C5-C6 Corvette will always be the car guy's Corvette.

Seems like an amazing car for the money, and I'd love to have one. The styling does kinda remind me of a recent Kia though. I mean, that's a small downside to pay for something that performs like a Ferrari at a third the retail price, but I guess this is one of the areas they saved the money.

Until you see a guy with an awful license plate like 2Fast4U, a mullet, leaning out his window combing the local high schools. Jk. sorta. Badass car but it's NOT a Ferrari. it's a Chevy man, noone cares. But I'm joking, it's an amazing car just not my style so no offense to anyone

I don't understand why anybody would want the remote starter button on the key. Why would I want to start my car from outside when it wouldn't take any time or effort to do it from inside like normal especially these days when you don't even need to turn a key to do it anymore?

I wonder how far in advance Doug had to ask to get his hands on this car so he could review it since it appears he had to take it that day rain or shine. The further the video goes, I was wondering if it would be raining so hard we couldn't see him by the time he finished.

Not sure why the roof and engine cover deserved any mention. My Iroc Camaro had similar designs in 87 and they were both shit then and will be on this too. When the roof seals leak and that latch motor doesn't rise and your trunk / engine cover won't close anymore.

It looks super cheaply made. They've copied the aventador bonnet/ trunk. Still not a supercar. The roof mechanism looks like it's going to break after 3 pulls you've basically paid for the engine and a shit body and interior to go over it.
