My mom is trying to sue the dodge dealer because they didnt properly rotate her tires. She bought it back complaining of vibrating in one of the tires. Sure enough, the bastards tried to charge her for a whole new front end on a 65k mile 2012 charger. To make matters worse, we took the car to where my friend works and the car only needed torsion bars. While doing the torsion bars, my friend noticed the tires were unevenly worn. Turns out the firestone fire hawks on my moms car should have been rotated every 5k miles as recommended by Firestone. The dealer said every 8k miles. My mom demanded a new set of tires and the dealer was only willing to pay for 2 of them and still wanted 500 for the other 2. when THEY screwed them up to begin with. After hearing that story, im not too optimistic about my mother winning the case

Hi scotty, just a grain of salt regarding the mexican quality. -It's not that because it is made in Mexico that is wrongly made, it's because the companies that have their factories here, push to save up to the last dime (obviously, if not, why coming here at first place) and that means that the kind of work and workers that they have, could never be the top of the line. Yeah, it's good to have jobs here (better than starving), but don't fall in the idea that those cars manufacturated in mexico are a made by well payed professionals that are proud of their products. It's more a situation of: You've got to do what you've got to do to have a meal in your table.

Here's why I hate them. They and the manufacturers have created a system with so many promotional, marketing and bookkeeping laundering schemes that the general public doesn't realize that at the end of the day they paid less than 10% of the factory invoice for the vehicle they used to cheat you. How do you think they pay for those big fancy dealerships and all that staff sitting around doing nothing for days on end? Did you think magical fairys rain money on the dealership owner? If the magical fairy is the scam they're pulling on you, then you'd be right.

Just bought out my 2016 Highlander. The sales guy tried every trick he could to get me to but the 100 a month extended warranty. He even tried to tell me that Toyota would prefer them not to sell it as they lose money on these extended warranties and that even Toyota has manufacturing defects. I said if Toyota did not want him to sell an extended warranty they would not allow it. And it was a dumb comment to admit that they have manufacturing defects. Finally told him to just give me my keys as I was taking my car and paying only for the car.

bought my Lexus at a Lexus dealership when they had reduced the price by 8, 000. I agree with you, but buying a car, especially a used one takes up so much time to research, test drive, finance/cashier's check, take it to a mechanic (where does one find a mechanic 50 miles away, for instance, where the seller lives. I figured that I could just sue if things went awry. Two years later, my car is worth more than what I paid for it. I wouldn't write off ALL dealerships, but having sued two in my life, I definitely see where you're coming from.

Not a vehicle but i bought a lawn tractor and got the extended warranty. In 5 years they had to replace the transaxle 2 times and boy did they grumble. They tried to say that tractor wasnt designed to mow 3 plus acres. So i was using it outside of its product design. However at the time i bought it they wasnt anything in it documentation saying anything about its design limitations. Now days every Tractor sold state on the tag what its designed for coincidence i think not.

Dealerships will soon reap the consequences of their rotten ethics. they will go extinct. Car buyers will buy online directly from factories, and have them shipped. There is no longer any reason for a customer to subject themselves to wheeler-dealer salesmen, shifty service writers, and closer managers. We know better now, thanks in part to Scotty Kilmer. The Web has given us the information to know stealerships are unethical, and not worth a customer's stress and migraines.

Hey Scotty, I have been trying to figure out the problem with my Mom's 2002 Cadillac escalade so that it can be sold for something more reliable. The car cranks, but doesn't turn all the way over. It ran for a little bit when a new battery was installed and alternator/battery was tested as fine. Then after a short trip it started not turning over again. Sometimes it will turn, crank and run for a while then cut off. Do you have any helpful tips?

It is NOT insanity that the guy whose tire came off lost his case. ANYONE who has dealt with attorneys and judges for decades, or even years, KNOWS that they are CORRUPT, CORRUPT, CORRUPT. They are corrupt BEYOND the imagination of the man on the street. I know a guy who was a process server. He stopped taking jobs from a client when he discovered the client was having him take envelopes full of CASH to a judge. GITMO for the Rat Bastards.
