The third gen Altima were good cars but 02-03 four cylinders had oil issues / pre cat issues the 3. 5 motors were bullet proof think was solved in 05 all do is take care of maintenance have it fully serviced don't drive hard as most people drive cars really hard. I still some see around so they are good cars keep up oil changes at every five thousand miles. Scotty: What would think about the 2014-2020 Rogue? I have a 2015 Rogue SL FWD if drove there where you're located you would be surprised saying all kinds of swear words looking at the interior like just bought the car or rode off assembly line has new car smell. I have done nothing changing oil / fluids / tire rotation / original battery / all need is replacing tires, spark plugs, probably get a battery even transmission that's a CVT is original no jerks or high rpm that car takes off like a eight-cylinder get decent gas mileage and rides like a Benz the best car ever had.

I got a card in the mail telling me that Nissan under a proposed class action Settlement will extend the warranty on the CVT on 2013-2017 Sentra, 2014-2017 Versa Note and 2012-2017 Versa with CVT. LOL and I don't own the vehicle anymore I might be eligible for a 1000. 00 towards the purchase or lease of a new Nissan or Infiniti. I owned a 2015 Versa Note in July of 2018 I was hit from the side at an intersection and flipped onto the roof, the car was totaled, the seat belts and airbags did their job, I walked away from the car. Do I want another Nissan? no I don't want monthly payments the card also says I might be eligible for the cost of repairs, funny thing the car never gave me problems I did the maintenance, oil changes and such but never had a problem, the car was noisy on the highway.

I agree 100% not to buy that 2005 Altima, that's what I had. But are you sure the automatic transmissions in that are weak? Because that was the old 4-speed, and in my car, that was the one thing I never had any problems with. In fact, I would say up until the end, it shifted like a dream. Never even the slightest problem. And to be honest, I am not even sure I ever replaced the fluid. Still was light-pink until the end. But everything else was falling apart on that car. ORIs it possible that I drive cars in such a way that any car I have will not have autmatic transmission problems? Because I have owned 5 cars in my life and never had any problems with a transmission. Ever.

2008 Nissan Sentra 150000 miles, automatic that whined, wouldnt pass smog, filthy, was purchased for 1000 two years ago. 25000 miles later with 5 oil changes at Jiffy Lube with a coupon, cheap set of Hercules tires, cleaned up a little more every week, only failed the visual part of the smog, trans still whines after 30 miles of driving, and only going at it around 2000 RPM, I was offered 3000. Its a keeper and will last forever. Just dont abuse your cars and they will last a long long time. And insurance is cheap at 250/500/250 + the same UM1, with no comp or collision. Its a daily beater that I dont beat up. Im still not going to change out the AAA battery from 2014.

My mother must be the luckiest woman on the planet. She paid about 1500 bucks for an old Pacific, maybe 2005 or so, and it's got well over 100K mi on it. It's a little rough looking, but it's surprisingly fine, just needs brake pads and tires, which I'm gonna take care of. Gonna try to put her into a Sequoia or Highlander soon and let her use the beater as a backup/grocery getter. I have no idea why she turned away from Japanese vehicles years ago, but I'm going to reel her back in somehow. Maybe a bag of sugar can speed things along.

Hi Scotty, I have a 2013 Nissan Versa SV with 70k miles. Recently there's a hum/droning sound coming from rear right tire area that begins around 40 MPH and gets louder, noise rises in musical pitch as I drive faster. One car guy says my tires are cupping but the dealership says it's the rear wheel bearing. Also, the car has begun driving at higher RPMs at lower speeds and the idle is running high when I'm sitting with the car in park, no idea why. What should I do about both issues? Thank you

Scotty is partially wrong on this one. I have a 05 altima that has 150, 000 miles on it my family gave it to me when I was 19 and I've drove about 40, 000 miles in it personally. I've did all the repair work myself and I've only spent about 500-600 in parts over 3 years of ownership. I also know 3 other people with 05 altimas that have drove 200, 000 miles plus in them, so I'd definitely buy one for 2, 500 with a low amount of mileage on it. But don't buy a altima past 2006. CVT nonsense.

I have a 2007 ford falcon XR6 ute, the engine light came on, to do with the cat converter, there is a sensor called a mini cat that can be installed when the cat is taken off, it tricks the computer thinking it was still there, no emission laws in New Zealand, common problem the the converter is stuffed, had done, no more light problem and had it rechecked by my mechanic, all good, over here a brand new catalytic converter is 2000. 00 New Zealand dollars, ah no thanks

You cannot turn a scooter like a motorcycle, however they do have interesting enjoyable qualities when going on a ride you don't have to shift which allows you to focus more on the scenery. I used to always have motorcycles and then I got a scooter oh, yes I have to drive more carefully, however I do enjoy it more out in the country believe it or not because it's very relaxing to have floor boards to put your feet on and just a hand grip to accelerate.
