I worked with a guy that came to work so exited because he said I got a really good deal on a SAAB we tried to warn him but stubborn guy what a disaster it broke down on the 3 or 4th day and then it started he took it to the Saab dealer and they proceeded to try and diagnose the problem. that poor guy was without his Saab for 18 months while they fixed it, he told us they replaced the complete wire harness messed with that for a year, I am not sure how they resolved the problem, Andy wouldn't tell us. I think he was embarrassed we told him before he bought it good luck. Scotty said they are trouble he laughed, he wasn't laughing 18 months later

My family has a 2006 Jaguar XJ8, and my self with my brother needed to change a hose or something of the sort (this was a while back) that was below the radiator fluid reservoir. The damn thing was so difficult to get out that we had to use a sawsall to just cut it out and then replace it. We ended up changing the struts from air ride control (that always breaks) to conventional as well. Now its pretty descent, but still has a number of electrical gremlins. So when it comes down to it, you can always go with the sawsall option lol.

I work at a Kia dealership and ended up doing a body shop alignment on a 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera. The rear centric bolts are tucked into the rear subframe, and I had to use a short wrench with very little wiggle room to adjust anything. For the front wheels, I did have to do a little reaching to get to adjust toe, but it all worked out in the end. Over an hour later I got to test drive it, and was disappointed because the clutch slips I had to keep it in a higher gear for it not to slip.

I've had the same porsche for decades now and do most/all of the work these days. Once, after a couple brief visits to see if I liked them, I visited an independent porsche mechanic in the town where I have a vacation rental, and as I pulled up I could read his lips, Oh thaaaat guy again. I left laughing--people that are a-holes think they are so smart. This jerk even praised Audis. PS bought a motorbike(funner, cheaper) and will be selling the porsche; times change.

Whew, I'm glad my Ford five hundred wasn't on Scotty's list Actually, so far, it's been a very reliable car. I bought it new in 06, it has about 140, 000 miles and I keep it serviced regularly. I'm fanatic about changing the oil, and just regular maintenance. I wish it would last as long as my 36 year old Sear's gas furnance and house a. c. unit, lol. They don't make stuff like they use to is an understatement, in many cases anyway.

My 2002 VW GTI has its master cylinder inside the transmission Once it started leaking and I had to pay VW 1500 to change it. Dumb asses changed it but didn't recomend I change the clutch while the tranny was down so what do you know, after a few months my clutch started slipping. I had to pay again 1500 to change the clutch. That was the last time I took my car to a dealer.

Oh yea my friends first car was a 83 Saab got yelled at by the mechanic on his first repair. Because of the key and needing being a manual to be in reverse to remove. He had told them but they had forgotten which they admitted. Yet they bent the key and damaged the lock which needed to be replaced. Then instead of fixing that they yelled at him for the odd design feature.

Kia Stinger. If a pack rat chews on the electric thermostat, you HAVE to drop the subframe of the vehicle with the engine and transmission on it. The thermostat is behind the engine above the transmission where there is no access. I've seen it happen a few times already. One guy had to get his car insurance involved because warranty doesn't cover pack rat damage.

Agrees to the hybrid. I had a 1st generation lexus RX hybrid, and I would not want another hybrid. The car will not start in winter when's -30C, and no mechanic would want to look at it except the dealership. But when the weather is nice, the car was great, and the hybrid did have much better acceleration than the regular RX.
