I am a bigger guy and the seats in new cars are so tiny feels like i am sitting on a 2x4 I was planning on buy new rav4 or crv as I was only looking to spend 25k to 30k but seats were terrible and small so I looked at Ford edge and explorer and seats were even smaller and right now my budget just cant afford a new Highlander or 4 runner or a Lexus. I about gave up on a new car and I wasnt a fan of the newer Cherokee til i drove one, decent V6 power larger comfy roomy seats, 4wd, decent sounding stereo only down side is backseat and cargo is smaller than I wanted but my wife has a Lexus GX so I dont always need the space. So I decided to buy a new one they were on sale at my dealer for loaded limited 34k or a trailhawk for 38k. While i was there, there was a older couple turning in their lease on one and getting a new one, so I asked how much it would be for that one for a 3 year old one with 32k on it was, 18900 so I pulled the plugged and bought it and bought the extended warranty for 2000 I am covered til 120, 000 miles or 6 years I got a fully loaded limited with panoramic moon roof, 9 speaker stereo, V6, 4wd, cold weather package out the door price total I was under 23k so far I have put 16k miles on it myself no issues yet other than I made a emergency stop on interstate and I warped my front rotors but I fixed that repair myself with new pads and rotors. I recently left my job at a dealer while I was there I had seen several 2014 to 2017 cherokee's come in dealer with over 100k as trade ins with no issues even one guy had a 2017 with the 4 cylinder had over 170k on it came in every 4 weeks for oil change. Not saying Jeeps are perfect but the Grand Cherokees and the Compass at our dealership seemed to be the ones with the issues not the Cherokee or Wranglers.

Shame Scotty. I don't think it is bcause Jeep's are bad is the reason for the slump, the market overall is in a slump. Toyota, Scotty's preferred vehicle, is also going through a slump, along with most auto companies. I recently purchased a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and it has been fine. I looked around and it was one of the few type all terrain SUVs that had good ground clearance/angles and true mechanical 4X4 with locking rear differential. Nothing came close to specs and after reviewing consumer reports and car repair sites, it fared better than most such vehicles. It fell about in the middle of quality. remember that the Jeep Cherokee underwent a major redesign in 2014, where most of the problems were found. In comparison, the Toyota Tacoma did a redesign in 2016 and also had massive issues and a fall in reputation and went from the top in repair to about the middle, as the Cherokee did in 2014. About 3 years later the quality and problems are now fewer. Again, do not base opinions on the first or second generation of redesigns.

Had a '92 Cherokee new. 4. 0L inline 6, manual. Put over 200 on it. Engine still running when the rest of it fell apart. Now I go through the dealership looking for Cherokees, and all I see are George Jetson bubble-cars. Just like every other bubble-car on the road regardless of manufacturer. Thanks, Congress (A group of baboons. How true is that. The old Jeep Cherokees had a unique look. Make them that way again with 4. 0L engines and heavier-gauge bodies, and they'll sell like hotcakes

Jeep have a terrible name in Australia. There was a case last year where the local dealer wanted to charge over 40000 to replace fuel pump and injectors on a vehicle that was only a tear out of warranty. The story went viral here, and Chrysler eventually paid for the repair. This, and the half star ANCAP rating are probably responsible for poor sales. Instead of looking to see where things went wrong, the CEO of Chrysler Australia is blaming social media for a vendetta against Jeep.

Jeeps arent made in Canada. We have two assembly plants that make the Charger, Challenger, 300, Journey and Grand Caravan. Brampton and Windsor Ontario. I live right down the street from the Brampton plant and every morning on my way to work I see the Chargers and Challengers leaving the plant on transports. There are lots of newer Ram pickups on the roads here. Scotty doesnt like them but the folks here do and they seem nice to me.

Hey Scotty I am having an issue with my 2014 v6 dodge charger, i'm getting a code for low O2 voltage in my sensor, ive replaced the sensor twice and still no fix. Sometimes the code will go away when the outside temperature rises or lowers. When viewing the voltage on the bluedriver the voltage shows as steady until car starts. Taken it to a mechanic who said maybe it needs a new computer, any clue?

If everyone stopped buying from the big three, would American car manufacturers step up to the level of top Japanese auto makers, or would America just not make cars anymore? I want to support our economy and feel bad for my fellow neighbor, but I just can't get myself to spend my hard earned money, which isn't much, on something that's going to fall apart in a year.

Hey Scotty, please quit ragging on Subaru about the Takata airbag recall, because there are 13 other manufacturers who are in the same boat as Subaru but you're picking on just Subaru, and that's just not right. Yeah, we all know you're not a fan of Subarus but this recent airbag recall is affecting 14 different manufacturers, not just one. Let's be fair now, ok?

The Cruze gets a lot of bad press from you. But my question to that one guy whos neighbor had a Cruze with 2 transmissions at 23k miles. I have a 2017 with 67k miles and never a problem. I know they arent reliable I didnt plan on keeping it passed 100k miles but I really think he just had a lemon. I doubt the Cruze is that bad. I know I own one.
