I bought a VW 2019 Jetta 1. 4 S (base model without any of the bells and whistles) with a manual 6 speed transmission. It has low mileage at about 1. 6k and I feel like I got it at a pretty good price bout 15k. The car drives well and I wanted to ask if I maintain the car well like changing the oil (synthetic) every 5k miles, changing break fluid, plugs, coolant fluid, belts, etc. will the car make it to 150k miles without any major unexpected repairs? I've never owned a VW and was wondering at what some of the people that own them think?

, vw is a poorly made car, have you worked on them lately, i worked on cars for forty five years, seen points, dis ign, feedback carbs to high pressure fuel ign. All these companies go in cycles, one will have great cars for four to five years then another brand will rise to the top, all have poorly design engines or transmissions at times, some are known for great bodies or engines. No one company stays on top, you said yourself Toyota were replacing fuel pumps without knowing reason for failure

Hey Scotty, I got a question: I just bought a 2010 Bentley Cont. GT Speed in prestine cond. and with 35. 000 miles. I would like to prevent the intake from getting clogged up by all the exhaust nastieness recirculation. If I find a place where they could program the computer to shut down the exhaust recycling valve, would I risk any negative outcomes to the engine itself? Most of the time I drive around at 1200 to 1800 rpm which seems to be the range when max. exhaust recycling is taking place.

Hmm. Not surprised the 'Concern' is moving into America. However, I'd stay away from their brand new vehicles. As with all the new cars, they are built not to outlast us. Hope that this move would enable America to have a flow of OEM parts for older models. That would be beneficial. Older, smaller Golfs and Polos (or even Boras and Ventos). they may be a safer bet. Yeah, the VR engines. nah. just your small, four-pot, low horsepower econoboxes. Heck, those had some quality at least.

You are saying Yupee, Volksagon is going to start building their crap cars again. You rightly dislike the bad quality of the modern gadget filled Volkswagen, so wouldn't you be happy that they stopped making the garbage (in your words? I don't care what VW does. It is what the doctors and scientists conclude and recommend. I don't ask my doctor what car to buy and I don't ask my car maker how to end an epidemic.

How many folks changeout strut cartridges, yet fail to replace the camber plates and the rubber bushings? Or put new rubber bellows on the shaft. You want sport handling? Buy a set of Koni, or KYB, or Billstein adjustable struts. Spacers? My auto shop teacher in H. S. put my car on a lift to show the class of what not to do with spacers. Humiliation from and by your peers is a great teacher.

GM still makes the 2nd generation Saturn Vue, except now it's called a Chevy Captiva. They did upgrade the transmission to a 6 speed automatic, and replaced the 3. 6 V6 with the 2. 4 ecotec. My mom owns one and loves it. P. S. I own a 69 VW autostick bug, that my folks bought brand new. 50 years old last October and still going strong.

I don't think anyone will be taking over. Automotive sales will go down. Life not going to be the same. Lower volume of vehicles on the road. More e-commerce will come about due to this pandemic. Working at home will be the norm I see no more new production of new cars. Hate to say that but that will be the reality we will be facing.

Hey everybody, I have a 05 Subaru Outback. H4. 2. 5 non turbo. I had a code for bank one sensor one o2 sensor got it replaced. Two days later I got a code for bank one threshold. I believe I need to finally change the catalytic convertir. I m doing some you tube research and figured this would be the best outlet for responses.
