Hi Scotty. I think you are a wise man and I need your advice. Specialy you are familiar with the Lexus brand. I drive like daily 100mile at least. So I thought about to change my car and buy something smoother more comfy. Now I drive a garbage 2014 civic ex. I almost traded in the Civic today to get a 2006 gs300. but I got confused cuz i did read some mixed information about the 3. 0 engine can be problematic and not the best because of a different injection method straight into the combustion area. Ohh the car have 140k miles. Or my other choice would be a ls430. What do you think which one is the most reliable for my need. Please share your thoughts about the topic. Or a 300gs with the inline six would be more preferable from. the previous series?

Scotty Im on the market for a used vehicle with 4x4 capabilities and 5K or 6K towing. I dont care what type, AWD or whatever - I tow once in a while and have a steep driveway in TN with occasional snow/ice. I dont want to become an expert on the world. I just need the capability in a daily driver. Will you do a top five? SUV or truck, I dont care. I hear good things about the Lexus SUV, they may be the great unheard sleeper of quality vehicles. Youve touched on one topic: Mechanics rarely see the great vehicles in their shop. The used market also rarely sees great makes/models because people keep them until they get retires. BTW: love your videos.

Hey Scotty, my parents own a 2004 Skoda Octavia (1st Gen, 1. 9TDI Engine, 5-Speed Manual. They bought it second-hand like 4 years ago, and the car became an endless money pit recently. We needed to get the head gasket replaced because of heater problems, have the suspension replaced, the air filter needed replacement and the trunk hydraulics stopped working. We were thinking of selling the car, and buying something like a 2011 VW Golf, but after spending so much time and money on this car, were really reluctant to do so. So should we stick with the Skoda or sell it? EDIT: The engine now also seems to be whining in 2nd gear, and around 2k RPM)

My dad bought a cayenne in 2011 with a 3. 6L and put 170K miles on it and I took from him when I got my license and put another 30K miles (Bear in mind we are both very aggressive drivers so this car was driven HARD) and I never had any problems it ran like the day my dad bought it from the dealership until someone crashed into me and the car was totaled out. As long as you take care of your car it will take care of you I feel like Scotty treats any car thats not a Toyota as if its a rolling paper weight from the minute it comes off the assembly line

Crikey, awful to think that a Mini with only 123. 000 miles cant be used as a daily driver. I drove a 63 Beetle for years, now Ive got an 88 W201 diesel Merc, cost 1200, only 350, 000 miles, both of them hardly cost a cent to run. British cars have gone from awful to horrendous (I realise its a BMW engine) and German cars have gone from brilliant to terrible. Thank God for the Japanese, eh? Apart from 94 Celicas, most of them are brilliant.

Scotty, you forgot about the huge advantage that diesels have over gasoline engines especially in the big trucks. In some cases the diesel will get twice the fuel economy that gas does. The heavier the vehicle, the more difference there is. I invented a transmission that will take away some of that diesel advantage. Just got to finish the prototype. Now, just need to get on shark tank Like those air bags

To the person who submitted the question about the clicking when you let off the gas in the Sentra. I have had a 2015 Nissan Versa and a family member hasa 2015 Sentra. When you let off the gas if its not was Scotty said, its just how the transmission is. Its the noise it makes when it stops because you took your foot off the brake. I thought it was weird too.

Scotty, I have a Hyundai elantra GT 2005. When I accelerate the engine jerks for a while before smoothening out no matter how lightly I step on the accelerator. When I let of the gas too I the engine reacts to that in a manner thats isnt smooth at all and makes. I fear the constant rocking from this will affect my engine mounts or spoil something. What could be the cause?
