Scotty, I just bought my first non-american car its a Toyota Corolla a 2000 and its in really nice shape 80, 000 miles hardly any rust at all, great for Michigan. I took your advise and bought a toyota. within the first week I noticed the belt tensioner pulley bolt is snapped off in the block. I tried to drill a hole and use an easy out but it just wont come out and it broke off at least a half inch down inside the hole or more I tried welding a smaller bolt to it but nothing will work. not sure if my only option is to drill the same size as the bolt all the way through and use a nut and bolt instead of trying to tap the hole to fix this issue. do they make a tensioner relocation kit or somthing. or I was thinking of trying a shorter belt without the tensioner at all and just cramming it on there. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My wife drives a 2003 Camry LE 165, 000 miles I bought her a 2013 Camry SE that I traded my Civic in for she drove the new Camry a few weeks and said she preferred the 2003, its 16 years old but when we travel take the 2003 say look were going 110 mph and rides smooth and I love the short turning ratio it gets detailed once a year so the paint is still perfect, Ive own in the same time a Altima, Accord, and a Civic but now I will stick with the Camry, I also own a 1985 Toyota Xtra cab pickup with 340, 000 miles that is nicknamed Ol Faithful, the Camrys have been the most reliable followed by the Civic EX

Scotty, the Camry maybe a very reliable car, but its ergonomics is not in the same class. First, the sharp angle of the windshield and the reflective material of the dashboard causes excessive glare. I cannot drive my Camry without wearing sunglasses. Second, at about 10 to 11 Oclock position is a HUGE blindspot because the thick pillars and mirror position. Ive lost count of the number of times I almost hit someone because the were shield from view by the blindspot. Third, while the powertrain is no doubt very good, the A/C is crap. In the first 6 years I had mine repaired 3 times.

Scotty I have a great question. Do you think that the 2012-2014 Toyota Camrys (2. 5L 6 speed auto) are as reliable as the older ones? I want to buy one of these because I actually love that specific body style and interior. I also dont want to gamble with a 150k mile engine where the oil may have only been changed every 20k miles or so. Im steering clear of the newer CVTs because the #1 brand for reliability isnt the most reliable anymore all because they put faulty transmissions in almost ALL of their new cars just for a couple more MPGs. Thoughts?

Most abused car My father bought a Camery 1997, and since that day until now it is used daily(intensively. My father taught me driving on this. I taught my brothers on this. I used to use it everyday while going to school, my older brothers did. My younger brothers did. And now its with my younger brother, he uses it to go to work. It has experienced a number of accidents. It has two engines. The milage is 200k over one million.

I currently have a 2010 Camry SE with the V6. Not gonna lie, it might be considered the epitome of boring in the car community, I love the damn thing. Good acceleration, comfortable seats, and plenty of room and storage. My biggest gripes are that the rear seats dont fold down at all, its super low (damaged by bumper leaving my driveway multiple times, and the steering is a little too numb for my liking.

No offence to Toyota, but Camry are UGLY and it is uneasy for parallel parking due to awkward design. I agree Toyota engines are reliable and easier to sell. My Camry sold at a lower price due to not sold within a few weeks. Every one wants a bargain I suppose. I would never buy another Camry because as mentioned above. Corolla would be better and more popular.

I have the same exact car. 2009 Toyota Camry LE. Its silver too However I do have aftermarket wheels (5 spoke Enkeis) that came with the purchase. I bought it used about 2 years ago with 72k miles, Ive only brought the mileage up to 88k. Definetly a reliable car out in the road. Intending on driving my Camry till it falls apart (which will NEVER come around)
