Definitely sue them! I DID! They sold me a car a few years back that they claimed was CERTIFIED which technically means they charge 10% higher prices. COME TO FIND OUT IT WAD CARMAXS PERSONAL LOANER CAR THAT THEY NEVER EVEN INSPECTED BEFORE THEY SOLD IT TO ME! They NEVER TOLD ME THE CAR WAS A PRIOR LOANER! HAD I KNOWN THAT I NEVER WOULDVE BOUGHT IT! THATS WORSE THAN BUYING A RENTAL CAR! One day I was cleaning out my trunk and I happened to find 6 LOANER CONTRACTS from carmax to 6 different people who they LOANED THE CAR OUT TO PRIOR TO SELLING IT TO ME! They lied and denied it til I showed them the contracts then they lied again saying it was inspected and they told me. LOL THEYRE A JOKE! THEY ARE CROOKS! I had an EXCELLENT atty that sues them CONSTANTLY because they are SO SCANDALOUS!

I don't trust any autoshops or dealerships. They always manage to make our vehicles run bad/worse or scratch paint. Most recent, went in for an oil change and leaked oil all over my driveway. Once went in for a power steering line/leak, they removed a hose that was connected to the brake booster. Whatever it was caused hard acceleration soon as I put it in drive, almost crashed in the autoshop parking lot. They've messed with our suspension to where it suddenly had a extreme left pull. Another, new thermostat and while in the parking lot leaving, it sputtered accelerating. Excuse was they unplugged the fans. hahahahaha really? Have had fuel injectors leaking suddenly which could have caught fire. Oil change then front tire mysteriously 52+ PSI on a SUV. It's criminal of them.

My mom got a 2015 Buick Verano from bergstrom here in Wisconsin, 19k miles certified for 12k out the door, this is her second one, the first one got totaled in a bad wreck but so many air bags we walked away from it no issues! Anyways it wa very reliable as well 2. 4L na engine 6 speed trans no turbo or cvt crap. She loves it anyways when looking at it I came with to help, noticed all rims are curbed and back tire had gouges out of it. I tried pointing it all out to get a better deal or something, they wouldn't budge but the tire was a safety issue and they replaced it with a brand new tire no charge. So what car max did is very serious! Scotty is right 100%

I always take video of the rental car before assuming custody and upon returning it to the rental agency. Rental agencies at airports have tried the blame game on me at least three times. Every time I simply told them that I had video footage of the vehicle's condition before taking custody. they immediately shut up. Note, when the exit inspector VERBALLY states. oh, that scratch is less than x inches long so do not worry. he or she is FULL of crap. The video evidence will negate this obvious scam procedure they have setup to set you up. Keep those videos for at least 6 months. they also try the waiting game too.

Spent 199 last week at CarMax to have a car shipped to a closer location to me so I could test drive it. when it finally arrived the car was absolutely filthy! It was a 2018 Honda Civic coupe with only 20k miles on it! Asked the manager if they could detail the CLEARLY dirty interior for me if I purchased it and was told We ll only vacuum it and that they Don t do detailing LOL! I told the manager You re literally willing to lose a 20, 000 sale because you can t simply clean it? Man I have never walked out of a building so fast in my life! I will NEVER give CarMax a DIME of my money. Period.

About the running with no ABS advise, you mentioned it, you need to know how yo break with no ABS, but I think it's very important to also mention what exactly is breaking with no ABS. Most people who didn't drive a car from the 80's or something like that don't even understand what breaking with no ABS means and what they are expected to do instead of just stepping on the break pedal in a panic stop as you would normally do. I had no idea how powerful the ABS is and what a difference it makes until I got into the car world, it isn't something nowadays normal drivers would know

CarMax call these comebacks in which they spend more money on a car that was sold to a customer. During meetings they talk about these comebacks and what they can do to reduce cost. Whether it's feedback to techs/detailers/and or inventory department. Most of the time they will try to fix something the absolute cheapest way. Their rule of thumb, if you can't clearly see a cosmetic defect from 5 feet at 3 angles then it's okay. I hated working there. It's all about money saving. Not quality cars. It's all advertising.

Scotty is right about wiring here. My SUV was in a fender bender, when they attached the new one, they made the wiring too taught and it ripped off the whole connection assembly from a flood light after a year of constant driving. Or course, there was no way to prove that and I got stuck paying to fix their sloppy job. This was a 'Reputable insurance company backed Mechanic shop. Learning simple fix on your car saves you thousands.

I bought a 2018 Fusion, 50. 000 miles in excellent condition. Just 1000 down payment, 277 per month for 5 years. I took it to Ford to do a complete check up and to a private mechanic. The car is in excellent mechanical condition. CARMAX was a great deal for me but I obviously took time to chose the right car for the right price. I also spent some time building a good credit.
