Hate Your Car Stereo? Replace It With This AtomicAJ74: Sorry Scotty, but I disagree with you on a number of points in this video. 1) Its a lot easier installing one of these Android 8. 0s than you might think. Ease of installation is highly dependent on the vehicle. This would be a horribly challenging installation in my 2013 Camaro for several reasons, including integration of stereo controls with the fascia. But in your Toyota Matrix, yes it should be simple. 2) These Android radios arent all that reliable. Pioneer makes much more reliable radios competitively priced and compatible with iPhones for those how prefer those. 3) Dont solder your connections; use crimping connectors or heat shrink tubing. 4) Spring for the professional kit, so the installation doesnt look crappy with gaps (like yours does in this video.

Scotty. I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVMy problem is I definitely wannahave my cellphone bluetooth compatiblethrough (YouTube) music through my S. U. V radio sound system speakers which I have failed several times at doing. When I try to pair my phone up with my audio system there is a 3 digit code number that I must validate and fall short because I dont know that valid code plus my S. U. V Truck Manual Book didnt help me any as of lately?

This is the first thing I did with my 02 MPV. I really wanted bluetooth. Ive since added in a 4 channel external amplifier to run the door speakers and a single 12 Alpine Type R in the back. Still need to replace the rear speakers, but not many people are ever back there so I havent bothered with it yet.

Wire nuts are better than tape because tape will come off after a few years in the hat environment of a car or better that heat shrink wrap. Most people cant solder so its Not Easier than you think to replace your cars radio. If you have a radio that is half height a larger radio might not fit.

Why would you install a smart radio in the car, when you always carry with you a smart device. Either a phone or a tablet. I think car radios are on the way out. Car really needs to have speakers and have ability to charge the phone. Thats it.

Hay Scotty. It would be more correct to just say Android radio or the Android version name, in this case Android Oreo radio, then saying Android 8. 0Might even help avoid the video from becoming dated once a new version of Android is out

Nice video, but I recommend you slip on shrink wrap tubing over the wires before you solder them together. Ive found electrical tape can open up and come off. The extreme heat in the summer really softens the tape adhesive.

The times when cars stereo were mounted with screws is gone. New cars use crappy plastic clamps, that once dismounted will never make a tight fix anymore. Not to mention that new cars do not use double din standards anymore.
reply

thank you Scotty great video as to how to do it, but electrical tape in summer can become brittle in time or become loose because the glue on the tape is heated, heated shrink wrap works best for that type of installation

D you I could do that If only I had not seen this, I would have continued to believe I couldnt do it. Now Im intrigued. Tempted to go for it. I can almost hear the music and see routing instructions Oh this is bad. Great video
