Heres Why You Need to Buy an Old Volvo Brooks Livsey: My parents had a 2006 xc70 and it was the worst car they ever had. It was always needing expensive repairs, one thing after the next. Nothing is easy to work on or replace, not even the brake pads. The car only had about 150, 000 miles when they got rid of it a few months ago. It was falling apart even though it was always well maintained. I would NEVER recommend Volvo. My family all drives Lexus vehicles now and we will never purchase anything else. Sorry Scotty. I usually agree with you but not on this one

My first car was a ' 70's Oldsmobile Delta 88. I bought it for 50 but only paid 25 because the owner felt guilty charging me 50 when I came back to give her the other 25. It was a bit of a rust bucket but it ran like like a bear. 350 rocket. One day I got rear ended by a new 1985 Chrysler. I got out and I saw his front end before seeing my rear end and I thought CRAP, my bumper and trunk are probably ruined And my mom is gonna KILL me. Then I got to see MY car's damage. I thought, what the? My metal bumper had a ding in it.

My IPD 99 T6 S80 just survive a 700-mile trip and I was getting 30 miles to the gallon without the AC but with the AC. 24 to 26. This is after my neighbor back into the rear end and dented the rear fender with her Dodge Ram it was hung up in the light housing it ripped her bumper apart but barely hurt the Volvo

That left rear wheels sits forward in the wheel well. Does the other side look the same way? Did you measure the wheel base of each side and compare? Does it dog track? Drive it thru a puddle and see if the rear wheels follow the front ones. The wet tire tracks will tell the story.

Old, boxy Volvo's from the '80 aren't stylish? They are built from the principal; From follows functions. That's state of they art designing in my opinion Practical, safe, easy to work on, reliable, comfortable. What do you want more? _Screw those useless modern SUV's. _

Those petrol volvos might be good but the diesel ones here in Europe are pretty much indestructible. My neighbour has a 97 V70 D5 with just over 744. 000km around 500. 000miles which is in better condition than my fathers 2015 Audi A6

My dad had a VOLVO 144DL and a Fiat Punto ran into the back of it and my dad just looks in the mirror and said poor bloke needs a new car because the Volvo was fine and the Fiat was like a crumpled up beer can

Bought an 04 V70 two years ago to use as a go to work vehicle for 4k. Very reliable and solid vehicle. Bought a 15 XC70 T5 for my wife. Nice vehicle, great mpg. Scotty, glad to hear you like Volvos.

Had a 2002 very solid. Transmission broke down twice and the air conditioning went out on it. The engine was running perfectly when basically gave it away to Pick-and-pull for 150-

Volvo is like that one kid that never talks in class but is secretly a technological genius. Those in line 5 engines made those old Volvos run like flipping tanks.
