Toyota Corolla vs Camry, Which is Worse Joe Casson: I'm 5'9 and there is no room in a Corolla for my legs. I have to sit bow-legged and there is no where to put my left foot. They have that (or had it) little pad for your left foot, it is about one-fourth the size of my foot. My legs and back are cramped and are in pain after driving one of these cars for 30 or 40 minutes. Why would I drive one? That's because I was given one of these as a rental car a few times. Great gas mileage. painfully uncomfortable. one knee against the door and one against the center console.

One of the big reasons electric cars depreciate so fast is that the tech is moving really fast too. So while the 2016 LEAF is perfectly fine for you, the 2019 one will have much better battery range. So long as your daily driving is within the battery budget, actually owning one is zero hassle so long as you can charge at home, and you don't have the charger problems the e-golfs' have been having. Luckily that stuff gets fixed under warranty, but I don't know how it works in the US of A. I mean, here, BMW tracked down my stepfather's old BMW station wagon that was 12+ years old (which he bought used, so they had to track it down, to have him come in with it so they could check his air bags, because they thought that model could have something wrong with it. Cost him nothing, and they lent him a new X5 over the weekend so he still had a car. From what I've heard, and I could be very wrong of course, US BMW isn't quite like that.

Scotty I'm loosing my mind, I have an opportunity to pick up a 2018 Chevy Malibu with the 2. 4 turbo with about 5000 miles from an uncle who realized he's too old to be driving a sedan. problem is as a former auto parts employee I can easily agree that chevy's have issues, I've seen many 2011-2016 versions of the naturally aspirated 2. 4s drop VVT solenoids before 100k miles, I've known for some time that transmission fluid service is dumb, and I've seen this vehicle and can just feel anything other than an oil change is going to suck. since I'm my own home mechanic any car i want to own i want to own. i understand the turbo may reduce the life of the motor. My uncle doesn't want to trade this in yet because he knows keeping it in the family would mean a brand new car at a good price to us, but should i pass this up? My plan B was thinking about getting a 2010 or later ford taurus with AWD.

Most of the time I agree with you Scotty. But re: the rear view mirror camera idea, here's the deal. First, the camera and monitor system has to be high enough resolution to pick up subtle details you normally see in a mirror, like small objects. Unless the camera and monitor is high enough resolution, you may miss these things your eye can detect which a camera/monitor system is blind to. Secondly, an electronic system like this is EXPENSIVE to maintain and repair. Mirrors are cheap. Heck, even space satellites use them. The Apollo moon mission put a mirror on the moon and it's still working LOL.

Just my opinion. I own a diesel Nissan Titan XD and a Corolla. I recently rented a new Camry. It has a far better ride and is far quieter when cruising on the highway. It is also smoother and handles much better. Still feels cheap, but is also far better feeling than my fully loaded Corolla. My biggest complaint is that 8 speed transmission. That transmission is very busy. It is never in the right gear and then downshifts by too many gears when you least expect. I actually prefer the CVT in the Corolla as the latest software update really has woken it up.

Hi Scotty. I have done quite a few of starter replacements. What I found when that grinding noise occurs, the ring gear on the flywheel is worn, mostly on one specific place. ( engine tends to stop at the sam place when switched off) I remove the transmission, take of the flywheel, heat up the ring gear and the ring gear just fall off the flywheel when it is heated up. I then turn the ring gear around, put it back and let it cool off. Replace everything and problem solved without replacing starter motor.

Altima comment was hilarious. I still remember the First generation early 90s Altima. They replaced the Nissan Stanza and 99. 9% certain those had RWD. They were basically 4 door version of the 240sx and they were really decent cars and quick for the times. Sad to see what they did to the Altima. I just don't understand why Nissan insists on these CVT transmissions. I know a girl who had a Nissan Rogue barely 5 years old and just out of warranty being told her transmission was failing. Brutal

Horrible idea telling your viewers that cameras instead of the GOOD OLD MIRROR TECHNOLOGY IS BAD. TURNING YOUR HEAD ISNT JUST LOOKING AT MIRRORS IT IS LEARNING TO STAY ALERT TO ALL YOUR SURROUNDINGS AS YOU DRIVE. STAYING ALERT (instead of GAZING at your CELLPHONE) is what saves LIVES. Cameras instead of the good old mirror simply means now one can do other things inside the car instead of looking forward and all around. But this is me. and because I drive a larger vehicle than a car.

Relative to the 97 Ranger - I had problems with mine. Those included lots of electrical system problems, constant heater core leaks (replaced three in six years, and you had to take the whole dash out to replace them = two days each time, and finally my ring gear on the flywheel cracked and broke Oh, I almost forgot, I also had the trans lock up on the freeway They found pieces of one of the synchros inside. I'm cured, no more Fords.

I have an concern with what Scotty has been saying for several weeks now. That being go ahead and buy a used Tesla Model S. As much as he bash's BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar as endless money pits and advises never buy them. Why does he recommend buy a used Tesla when they also are never ending money pits as they age. Also, there parts are even harder to find as Tesla parts are propietary. So nobody else thinks that's odd of Scotty?
