The Concerning Story of Shimaa Qasim, Houston's Robo-Ban, BH Response, & More. Max Goldberg: I don't scoff at thoughts and prayers. I think just telling people you were touched by their story, their loss, and taking the time to reflect on it as well as on your own life does a lot to change your own outlook, and as more people do it it can change the social fabric of our country and help abate similar occurrences in the future. What I DO scoff at is elected officials insisting that the power of prayer is real. Interpret it how you want, but I've been around people who use that kind of language enough to know they aren't talking about what I'm talking about. They actually think their prayer has a supernatural power to cure the sick, heal the injured. They actually thing God is omnipotent enough to prevent bad things from happening but petty enough not to prevent catastrophes without receiving enough praise and pleas. They actually think prayer is a substitute for real action in this plane of existence. And I find that sickening. Some of you will write me off as an atheist. But I am not. I just think that the idea that God is all-powerful, supernatural, and can do ANYTHING is archaic. If God can do anything, the world wouldn't make sense. We wouldn't be able to make sense of it. It comes from a time when we knew so little about the workings of the world that we had no idea it adhered to rules so strict, scientists called them laws of nature. We didn't know the universe could be made sense of and can be predicted. Since we've made that discovery, having faith that anything supernatural is going to change your life personally is both ignorant and debilitating.

For people calling Phil scam, I wanna point out that's what sponsorship is and affiliate marketing is like, nothing special. I wanna also point out that I have used better help personally, and it really helped me since I was having issue leaving the house after domestic violence. I got a decent counceler and she was always quick to respond. I could write my long ass thoughts in middles of the night and got response too, which doesnt happen with face to face doctors. The fee though, it seemes cheap, and i was desperate. You know how there are suicidal prevention numbers for free but if you call, all they say is don't stay inside, talk to your loved ones, go out do things you like Some advice my mom could give. So anyways I signed up for better help and the trial price ended quickly and the fee went up big time and well, all that isn't difficult to control, if you are mentally healthy, for me that gave me another level of anxiety. but luckily I was able to cancel early enough for minimum damage. I guess if you don't check your bank statement often, this will be a big shock. So i dont want people spreading hate on internet counceling service just because how it looks, sometimes people really need it. But if someone is getting on it, help the person through it, you know. Last thing i want is having less option out there.

This is dumb. let me break the first story down for you with the REAL facts Shaima Qasim is already staying in Amman, Jordan (before the assassination of these public figures. Second of all, she is not westernized at all The majority of Iraqi women dress like her today, and have been for many years. do your research So, dressing up like westerns was not the motive behind the murder of those influencer. It is much deeper than that. The women who were targeted have nothing in common between them except for the fact that they were public figures. The first lady was a plastic surgeon and she was well loved and respected by everyone as she did a lot of charity work. The other lady that you showed was Hijabi which negates your first argument. Now it is true that many idiots were in fact happy about the murder of Tara Faris as she was involved in some scandals, but that does not justify her murder. Basically, this entire situation is done to spread terror amongst people. Sadly, history is repeating itself as many doctors, scientists, and educated people were threatened and killed off back in 2007-2008. Now they are just targeting public figures. We live in a very unsafe and violent environment, but please do not paint us as a tribal society that kills off women for wearing pants -. -

I really hate the fact that it takes beautiful women being killed for being culturly different for any one to shed light on the fact that there are still countries, including thier governments, who allow and accept the fact that being killed for being different is normal. There are many countries, mexico included, with little being done and even allowing this to happen, all in order to continue to thrive an extremely old and outdated culture system, its as if we still live in the 1800s where no one can stop someone who wants to do you or anyone else harm, our systems work to find out the cause and see if something can be done in order for the culprit to be brought to justice but we should be focusing on the prevention of these atrocious acts of pure evil. In Mexico if you kill someone the most you will recieve in jail is 2 years and that is convicted, or you can pay the authorities a, not even large amount of cash, to comepletely erase your crime. So i say okay i feel bad for the women who lost thier lives due to the world we live in today, but who is going to feel bad about the thousands of other people suffering, where not even the government will feel bad. Change is needed but not from our world, but from the people of this planet. #stillinthestoneages

I knew this BetterHelp situation was going to be a huge issue for him. So many tried warning him when we saw the videos starting to come out last week from people investigating the service. But nope, he never reads comments or tweets so I guess this is what he gets. His face is all over this and the Rogue Rocket thing makes it a lot worse. We need to have a conversation Phil. Why in the hell did you not look into this service before advertising it for weeks to millions? So many trusted you man. If what smaller reporters are reporting is true, you were banking off your viewers mental health problems. And you were far from alone. It's just sad man. I'm glad Boogie is donating his earnings. Felix was the only big voice to call out the service before this all really broke.

The threat on Shiima Qasim and other modernised female iraqi influencers is not because of religious standards but simply hate on women. The murder of Tara Faris was not without reason she had a lot of personal enemies. BUT if she has not been a woman that is as she is she wouldnt have been killed. In fact Tara was christian. People get murdered in iraq for practically nothing. It is a lawless godless country. There is a lot of hate towards women which is not promoted from religion. I repeat islam does not tell us to murder women or anyone for that matter. The reason they let you believe that is of religious causes these women are murdered is so divert to attention from the people actually commenting these murders.

I also had really bad experience with better help. It's not cheaper than an actual therapist if you consider going there twice a month cause on better help you pay monthly. The counselor they matched me with was clueless, any friend of mine could have given me a better advice at that specific moment. I believe Phil had a good experience cause he is a famous person. I wouldn't be surprised to see that they matched him with someone with more experience. For anyone that is considering finding a therapist I would say do your research for available therapists where you live, identify what it is that you are looking for and understand it might take a while till you find a person you can connect with.

Here is my problem with Better Help. I attempted to sign up, and I guess I was successful. They charged me for a whole month (which I didn't want, and even though I canceled my membership before ever talking to a counselor, my charge for the month was 260. 00. I was only refunded 195. 00. Where did the other 65. 00 go? I didn't talk to anyone. It took several emails and a lot of research and time on my part just to turn the service (That I never got) off? Apparently this company charges 65. 00 to look into their services. It's pretty mis-leading Glad they give you money Phil, but I will not ever recommend them to anyone.

If shima's well-being is at risk, and she is getting consistent death threats, I know she wants to make a statement, but her well-being should come first. I think she should immediately leave the country before she whines up the next victim of a senseless murder. I guess she's trying to bring attention to her cause, but at the same time, she has to think about her survival at this point. It's not just one death threat and that's it, it's consistent death threats. And given how the recent women were shot down. She should seriously consider leaving the country immediately

I wouldnt know what to do if I were in Shimaa Qasims situation. She is getting death threats for expressing herself in the way she wants to. Its so weird to hear about these kinds of stories in other countries, because its so different from what I deal with living in the US. I would be afraid for my life, and honestly I think I would leave if I were in her situation. I dont think I would have the strength to stay their and constantly look over my shoulder each and every waking hours of the day. She is so strong and I wish her the best, and hope for her safety.
