Disgusting! We need to talk about Ahmaud Arbery, London Miner, & Nino Vitale. Chris: Watched the full video, and based on what the news has reported of the laws in Florida these guys are probably gonna get off. In the Video Arbery is clearly trying to take the gun. Law in Florida says if your afraid for your life you can shoot. The law seems to say you can do citizens arrest as well. It seems like they are gonna have a really hard time locking them up. Especially with this massive outreach to the public from the victims lawyer, that's an easy mistrial appeal even if they are found guilty. I think we are gonna be waiting a long time for the results on this one. So much not being reported on either, was Arbery in a strange neighborhood? The news said he goes for runs every day and waves to the people, but is this his neighborhood? Where is this video evidence that shows Arbery breaking in? Biggest problem is the laws in Florida that need an in depth review, but I don't live there so I won't tell some other states people what they need to do. It's their state, that's why we have them.

It begins with a man in pursuit of Ahmaud, who is a suspected neighborhood robber. Ahmaud, being trailed by the cameraman, is fast approaching the shooter and his son who have positioned themselves ahead of Ahmauds path in hopes of blocking him off. The man holding the phone that is recording leans to his right, moving the camera's focus where what sounds like a gun being drawn and armed can be heard. The camera is then refocused on Ahmaud, who is now positioned between the cameraman and the shooter's vehicles. The shooter is standing at the driver's side of his vehicle with the door open holding his shotgun and his son is standing in the bed of the truck. Ahmaud goes around the passenger side of the shooter's vehicle where then the shooter repositions himself, firing the first shot in front of his vehicle off camera before Ahmaud has made contact. Ahmaud and the shooter wrestle over the shotgun and the shooter s son, who is still in the bed of the shooter s truck, picks up a handgun and arms it. Eventually, Amaud and the shooter wrestle off camera where the second shot is fired. Soon, both Ahmaud and the shooter return to the camera's line of sight still wrestling over the shotgun. During the struggle, the third shot is fired hitting Ahmaud somewhere in the top left side of his torso. The shooter seemingly understands that he has landed a critical shot and backs off Ahmaud who is stunned from the impact. Ahmaud stumbles after being hit and attempts to flee from the confrontation where he then collapses a few feet in front of the shooter's vehicle where he would eventually die. After Ahmaud is downed, the vigilantes check up on eachother to verify that they are unharmed. The video then ends.

This country is sick, not just with a viral pandemic, but with racism, systemic and societal racism, that is routinely denied, ignored, and allowed to continue. I realize you cannot legislate how people think, but you CAN make systemic and governmental racism illegal. And you certainly can make laws regarding hate crimes. But the key is ENFORCING those laws and rules. To NOT deny racism exists, but to acknowledge the problem and to NOT tolerate it. We are also suffering from a growing lack of empathy on so many different levels. We should ALL be outraged when a 26 year old man going for a daily run is hunted down by armed men in a truck. He was somebody s son, brother, friend who was gunned down in broad daylight, for what? For having the nerve to run while black. What if the shoe was on the other foot? He and a couple friends hunted and shot that ex cop. You can bet they would absolutely be charged and thrown in jail, regardless of the risk of Covid 19 in the jails. It s wrong, and it s dangerous to ignore the problem, bc it s inhumane and someday you may find yourself on the wrong side of the equation. We need to stop this us and them mentality, this division and fighting amongst ourselves. It keeps us ALL down bc we are unable to focus on the growing wealth inequality and the fact that the middle class is shrinking and an elite few are getting richer by the minute, while we get poorer and work harder to to stay afloat. If we keep ignoring these issues, our world is going to get ugly quick.

Despite the world being terrible a lot of the time i guess that i like most am desensitized to a lot of it. however, similar the story of the female cop killing a man in his home. these recent stories ( although for all i know there could be more information or context) of a man killed over a mask in Michigan, and this man jogging. I don't know what to feel but shaken. i don't know what to feel about that. but in a world that always loves to talk about quantifying and virtuously informing people of their supposed privileged. these are the terrible people still exist. people that somehow rationalize a sense of responsibility or even duty to these terrible actions. either willing to fight everyone over anything, or believing a skewed sense of self/pride through all of these interactions that they are so quick to kill to preserve it. i would dare say most normal people require being hard pressed to reach any like this.

Playbook for this situation, like many others. Trayvon Martin was also stalked and killed this way. If he'd been white and stalked that way, the first thing white people would've thought of is stranger danger. POC (People of Color) are always seen to have little value in this country. Look at the deaths in this epidemic. Back to the playbook. The victims character will be attacked in the media first. Since many white people have a subconscious bias, they will look for a reason to blame the victim. He should have obeyed, He was arrested 10yrs ago or Those people are criminals. It will take white people to have this discussion amongst themselves, because we will never be taken seriously. Maybe by doing that, more white people will convict in situations like this. Instead of doing mental gymnastics to justify it, knowing they'd have real empathy for white victims.

I don t overly like how everything played out with that girl and her dog, but that said I have a boxer who loves boxing, I have a set of gloves that are her gloves, she brings them to me and if I put them on, we will box. I always am conscious of her feelings, and she doesn t enjoy herself unless I literally am jabbing and swinging! I always watch her tail and make sure it s wagging and that she s having a good time, and I would never intentionally hurt her, and she never boxes unless she s brought you gloves. though I don t agree with the girl boxing the dog because the dog doesn t like it, I feel given the proper circumstances, a dog might like being boxed; as I feel my dog absolutely loves it, and wouldn t do so if I ever thought I was harming her.

Hello everyone, i need help on an issue and maybe someone can help me. Im a high risk individual with asthma, ive been on a leave of absence from my job at belle tire. I need to be on leave for a minimum of 30 days and my 30 days are up on the 12th of may. The lock down in Michigan has been extended till the 28th of may and would like to be on leave till then. My boss has told me that the leave of absence isn't being extended for anyone because of business needs. A sale is starting on may 18. I dont know what to do, ive been hospitalized multiple times in the past 10 years because of my illness. My supervisor is making me feel like i have to choose my job over my health. Please can anyone give me feedback on what i should do.

Phill let me be generous here and assume you just didn t know. There is footage of Arbery fighting for the shotgun and that fight being what made the gun got off. From that it sounds a lot like a case of accidental manslaughter or possibly not even that if it s found to be Arbery him self who made tha gun go off. Now should the 2 guys have done everything they did? Well that s kind of a hard question, but given the law in their state, the only point I might be in disagreement with based on the current information is that they took a shotgun with them. that sort of weapon carry too much of a risk for the bullets to stray and hit other things possibly wounding or killing a bystander.

London minor should be have a hammer taken to her fingers and see how she likes it. My god. When I heard the yelp from the dog I teared up. I have a rescue and when I first got him it hurt my heart everytime he got scared because he thought someone was going to hit him. I can't believe she thought that was on okay thing to do. And I'll answer you pondering about whether this was a one time thing. if she thinks that's okay then she probably thinks a bunch of other horrible things to do to her dog is okay. I mean wear to garbage people like her draw the line? I think for her there is no line.
