Horse Lords: A Brief History of the Scythians Jami: I am still unsure of whom the Scythians were: Siberians, Mongolians, Persians? To say, they are a mingling of many tribes from the East to the West of the Steppe is not conclusive.
I do not believe this theory. The Scythians were warriors, like the Assyrians who were well known and feared. They could not have been merely a collective group.
Tribal groups would continuously war with one another for power (American Indian tribes as an example. They would not unite to be become one force- army.
Archaeologists and historians are missing a lot of information. Mostly due to their nomadic lifestyle. If they indeed helped the Babylonians and Medes destroy the Assyrian Empire, then they would be mentioned in Babylonians annals of kings.
Historical annals of past kings and their warfares must be revisited- from East, West and Southern ancient nations.

Jatt and Jaats in North India are the descendants of Scythians. They came all the way from Middle East Asia. Now theyre inhabiting all around the world with different surnames.
Once upon a time Denmark was also known as JattLand.
Scythians are born talented at Martial Arts and Farming (Ploughing. They were mostly farmers, but also considered as the most bravest people out there; they also fought many battles with Mughals and other rulers such as Alexander the Great (328-27 BC, Taimur, Nadir Shah, Ahmad Shah Abdali, Mahmood Ghaznavi and Mohammad Gauri.
According to many historians there was a time when there was no one in Asia and Europe who would stand a ground against Scythians Jatts.
Once they also attacked on Greece and won Athens as well. They ruled Iran and Afghanistan for quite a long time, then they moved to Sindh (ruled 137 years) and North West India; they also won Scandinavia in 2000BC. The last ruler from Jatt Clan (Scythians) was Albaaroo of Spain in 10th century.

This was factually B. S!
Forebears of Mongolians & huns? Who are you kidding here? Children!
Inflicted heavy losses on Persians? Say what?
Literally all evidences show that the Persians crushed them so hard in the very early ages of their 1st empire! Both Cyrus the great & Darius the great (the 1st two emperors of the Achaemenid empire) defeated them so bad that a nomadic people such as them agreed to become subjects to the Persian empire & as a matter of fact we actually know that the Persians used Scythians to form up 80 to 90 percent of their large army!
If you don't believe me just type in Darius's Scythian campaign or Cyrus's Scythian campaign!
No other nomadic tribe pushed them from the east (the huns & Gokturks belong to the 3rd to 5th centuries A. D & the Mongolians belong to the 10th-11th centuries A. D! Scythians belong to 8th century B. C. E to 2nd century A. D )
They were assimilated into the Indo-Iranian branch by the Persians not murdered by eastern nomads who didn't even exist at their times!
Also the Parthians were Iranians too you know!

More advanced than we are today -not many of us will survive when the worst hits - could not grow, find or kill food for ourselves, let alone make shelter and beautiful Gold jewellery. Fascinating to know my school education was an utter waste of time. Thank you for this information on true history ( minus your novel padding. Subbed and liked. Again thank you.

I can not even imagine that these people had no bright palaces, cities, they just grazed the flock or ratteled while having such beautiful statues. Someone is playing games I guess: ( For those who are interested I would suggest to search for the tartars/tatars I am almost sure that we are talking about the same people here, but using different names.

Im Bulgarian and scythes are among our ancestors. Actually they are ancestors of Bulgars, who later on were assimilated by Slavs (Slavs also assimilated Thracians. The information shared is quite scarce but still its something. Scythes are ancestors of multiple nowadays folks in central and Eastern Europe and we love this part of our heritage.

Scythians, Bactrians from them and part of parthians only a last race is left of them and its the Afghans. It shows from their actions no matter who tries to fight them they stand tall and high and fight fearlessly. The proof is in the pudding. Long live my Afghanistan the land of vicious, ferocious and humble warriors.

Afghanistan literally means Land of the Horselords/Horsemen from Ashva/Aspa(modern day Ef/Afs) means Horse and Ghan or Han meaning master or lord. In Indian sources they were mentioned as the Asvakans or Abgan in Persian sources.

Very interesting and makes me want to know more about the origins of these people and where they assimilated. Their artwork has a flow that I see in the Book of Kells. Thanks. Makes me want a horse to fly across those steppes.

The geographic position determines lifestyle and culture. This follows, that the people who lived there through the centuries, share a cultural relationship. This means not necessarily genetic and linguistic relations!

SYCTHIANS called themselves Saka People, they were Proto Turkish people and spoke Proto Turkish. Nothing to do with Iran. Burying weapons and horses with heroes was a Turkish custom from Pasific to Italy and Scandinavia.
