1: 13 misleading use of owned hangover from the empire truth is that imperial territories become autonomous Gibraltar is no exception but to maintain the balance of powers in western Europe, the real owners of Gibraltar voted to retain diplomatic ties as one of the smaller of the British nations.
The Ludicrously misleading inaccuracy about the
'neutral ground' hides the fact that the neutral isthmus was divided equally with consent between Spain, and Gibraltar nearly 100years ago to convert part of its seaport to make it compatible with
air travel via commercial seaplane flight legs on European and African routes.

Oh-My-Days. Where do I even start? This is just told completely from a victorious English POV. It hurts the mind. This video does not really explain why it's the English and not the Dutch that owned Gibraltar right? There is more to unpack here. and Suriname and New Amsterdam and the English being defeated by the Dutch in the 2nd Anglo Dutch war and making peace by Treaty of Utrecht in 1713 all play into this. Conveniently ignored by the British narrator. Ironically named History Matters. Yeah history, matters, indeed. Too bad it usually gets twisted completely when a Brit gets to tell the story.

There are 3 arguments that are often used to justify British control of Gibraltar:
1. If Spain wants Gibraltar back, then it should return Ceuta and Melilla to Morocco
2. The treaty of Utrecht
3. Gibraltarians want to remain British
1. Ceuta and Melilla have never been Moroccan
2. The treaty only gave to Britain the city of Gibraltar, not the territory and it had to be returned after some time
3. Did Great Britain ask the original population if they wanted to get invaded?

Britain still has Gibraltar because the US told Spain to get lost when they tried to suggest they owned it recently. The USA knows full well that the UK is the guarantor of passage for its warships through the Straits of Gibraltar and with the advent of hypersonic ship killing missiles the last thing NATO needs is China handing Spain a hefty loan and then demanding Spain hands over a right to control the port of Gibraltar as has happened with the Port of Piraeus in Greece.

UK and America, whatever doing is always correct, they think so.
Folk land island its very faraway from England. It fought with Argentina and take it under their power. But its very near by Argentina.
All over corners of the world America can build their military station.
For others, they are ready for sanctions. And its joker always ready to support America.

So basically. Spain and france fell out. Britain and Holland secured a passage. Then Spain 'gave' Gibraltar to Britain FOREVER if Britain left that war in 1713.
Forever being the operative word meaning Spain has no claim against british rule. well. that and the fact 99% of Gibraltar's inhabitants 'voting' to keep british rule. Says it all really.

If only the UK had similarly held fast and protected Hong Kong.
We all know theres two realities, the world, and China.
Why did the UK capable of lying and breaking any and all promises, easily capable of dissolving the 1984 agreement foresake Honkers to a dictatorship against the will of its people?

Just being connected to Spain doesn't make it Spanish. Gibraltar is no more Spanish than Portugal is. It is proper British clay and will always remain so. Want it? Come and take it. No? then shutup about it, it doesn't belong to Spain.

Well, if the referendum went the other way, the Brits would just declare war on Franco with the excuse that Spain was a dictatorship and Britain could never let their citizens choose to be ruled by a dictator

England thinks it own Scotland too. It used to think it owned India and killed over 35 million people to try and retain it. How many will England kill and jail to retain Scotland which it does not own?

Would love to get a sequel on how the Gibraltar boarder operated during the years when the UK had been in the EU, and if or how it has changed after Brexit (after the transition period.

Wow my respect for the British! They robbed from everybody! And the only people who could defeat them were the British themselves as in the founding of USA!

Gibraltar is a British Colony. Gibraltar belongs to Spain but was taken by the British. Why EU kept ignoring the problem of one of its Country Members.
