There is a tiny but significant issue in the maps of Italy post the Treaty of Versaille in this video: the city of Zara, shown in the post Treaty of Versaille Italy was not given to Italy by the Entante: after the birth of Yugoslavia, the town of Fiume, a city near the borther with Istria, one of the new Italian land, wanted to join Italy because the inhabitants were mostly Italians, but the government had to deal with the new communism riots across the country, so 2500 nationalist, under the rule of Gabriele D'Annunzio, an Italian nationalist poet, invaded Fiume and they occupied it until 1920: the Yugoslavian government new that they needed to solve the issue, so they met with the Italian government: it was agreed that Fiume would become an indipendet city, and that Italy would gain Zara: this is pretty important, because Zara was the most important town in Dalmatia, and knowing that makes the treaty more unfair to Italy.

Woodrow Wilson is celebrated as one of the progenitors of modern liberal hegemony, but he was also a committed racist and anti-Catholic bigot. He not only hated Black Americans, but anyone who didn't belong to the White progressive races of Northern Europe. He especially hated Italian immigrants to America and called Southern European cultures like Italy, stagnant nationalities. Of course British politicians held similar views. The fact that they screwed over their Italian Allies at the end of the Great War, while still looking after their own interests, shouldn't surprise.

Another reason was that Italy kinda underperformed. They failed to take any meaningful territory from the austrians and in the end even lost land to a german-austrian offensive and had to resort to Entente help to push them back. Thus the Entente was pretty underwhelmed with the italian contributions to the war.
If the Italians actually took and occupied some of the land they claimed, they would have likely gotten a better deal out of the peace treaties.

Whenever it comes time to carve up defeated empires, Britain and France approach the issue with a mix of greed, pragmatism, and outright apathy, but then the US comes in and complicates things horribly by going bUt sElF-dEtErMiNaTiOn! 1! like it's a founding principle of their country or something. You give some uppity tax-evading colonials a bit of autonomy and they make a mess of international relations for the next 200 or so years.

Another factor was Italy’s poor performance in the First World War and that in many ways, she became a liability for the Entente and needed extra British, French, and American aid along with a complete reorganisation of their forces to stay in the war. When the Americans pushed for self determination in the Balkans, Britain and France didn’t object too much due to many feeling that Italy did not deserve their promised gains

But that was/is a problem for the future. is very much the driving motto of British foreign policy, to this day.
Carving up Africa with straight lines, carving up the Hindu-Kush, commitments to Polish and Czecho-Slovak allies, Promising a Kurdish state, the mandate in Palestine, carving up the Levante, Invasion of Iraq, Brexit. the consequences are always a problem for the future.

Britain and France practically betray most of the promise they made anyway so what's one more, mind you this is the time when both of them were shouting Germany are gonna take over the world but if you look at maps most of the world were owned by France or Britain so it's basically Sauron telling Aragorn and Rohan that Elrond is the one aiming for their thrones and lands

The most ironic thing is the Central Powers, prior to Italian entry, were more than happy to give Italy lands it wanted if they joined them, or even being neutral still give them small concessions from Austria. Too bad Italy turned them down and betrayed the Central Powers
Don't be greedy. Be thankful for what you will get or you will get nothing. Don't be like Italy

0: 39 China to reject Japan's request for vassalage
This is a reference to Japan's 21 Demands to China, which would allow Japan to expand its influence in China as Western powers were distracted by the war in Europe. The Chinese Emperor in question is probably Yuan Shikai, although Yuan tried to become Emperor in 1916 and Japan presented 21 Demands in 1915.

Why didn't the italians simply use their already mustered army to occupy the areas they claimed anyway Britain and France would have had to use force on their ally to stop them (good luck selling that to the public after years of war, and the USA was already getting disinterested in more military participation in Europe.
What stopped Italy

The Italians could have tried to grab the land after the war. The British and French would not have sent forces against them as many parts of Europe were in armed rebellion/civil war. With Austria-Hungary disintegrating, the Italians would need to use force to enforce their claim against nationist sentiment.

Also the Italian military did little to no progress on the Austrian front during most of the war, and was doing arguably ever worse than Austria itself - entente had to bail Italian military multiple times in order to prevent it's collapse.
Italy was kind of a freeloader during both world wars

The italians also played a crucial role about helping the nationalist turks fighting for their independance, ammo, supplies, reconaissance, by then they already knew that the ententes had not respected the deal and so the italians decided to ruin the spheres of influence in anatolia for britain

During history lessons in our schools we taught that Italians were so pissed about giving their promised lands to greeks, they helped us in turkish war of independence by giving ammo and info. Even there were some rumours about italians had small skirmishes with greeks.

Just want to point out how much better the animation has gotten. The contrast between the French Revolution vid and this one shows that HM has made a lot of progress in his Artistry, and I’m real damn proud of him for that.
Just wanna say, Great job, man!

The only ones that wanted a greater Yugoslavia were Serbia and Woodrow Wilson. The Slovenians as an example wanted nothing to do with being part of Yugoslavia and preferred independence, but Wilson made 14 points that he apparently worked really hard on.

Also Italy was assigned to occupy the Adriatic coast during the fall of Austria-Hungary waiting for the treatises to be signed but there were many clashes with local slavs so UK, France and USA had to step in and this didn't help the Italian case

One thing to mention: it was Mussolini who, early in his tenure, agreed to give up Italy’s claims in southern Turkey. It was pretty hypocritical to then claim a mutilated victory. Yeah, dude. You didn’t want to fight for southern Anatolia.

Call me a cynic, but I believe that economics rule geopolitics. On that note, one can't help but wonder if Italy's territorial ambitions might not have been better fulfilled if only they had had the generous financial support of James Bisonette.

Another thing that probably didn't help the Italian cause was the fact that the Austria-Hungary's armies were 100km deep inside Italian territory, some 30km away from Venice. So Italy didn't manage to conquer any of the lands they wanted to take.
