1: 58 after ww2 with marshall aid they did what they wanted to do, we didnt fight in ww2 but our president wanted that aid and we take loan from usa and take their old equipments trucks, planes, and factory made foods, I know this is not usa fault and turkey presidents fault at that time but with that they was abile to open a market in turkey after that because of the loan domestic market suffered a lot and factories started to bankrupt and this lead to become more dependent to usa. Maybe this was because of the usa influence in ww1 ( usa supported turkish populated cities with documentetions-If my sentences seems bad sorry about that- ) and didnt interfere with war of independence. But tbh usa achieved what they wanted with sauidi arabia and war with iraq too.

This video feels very weird to me, because it doesn't explain the most important part of this topic American-Armenian relations and Wilsonian Armenia. Wouldn't have they been absolutely furious about the Ottomsns and and would want to annihilate them Considering the Hamidian massacres almost prompeted USA to ''hammer a few Turkish towns, '' I would expect such a large scale extermination on top of an already ongoing anti-Central powers war to cause an even greater upheaval.

Because, the Americans seen what happened to the Anzacs, and, didn’t want NO parts of the ottomans. The truth is, The American military is weak, and infested with cowards, and a joke at best. They ONLY go to war with countries they THINK they can beat BUT, sometimes they underestimate the countries, like Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Somalia.
Look how the Americans in the comments are deflecting, and making jokes about a Typo real lames!

Another answer why America didn’t declare war on the ottomans it wasn’t needed as the ottomans by January 1918 lost the Hejaz and Palestine and southern Iraq and was losing land swiftly so there was no need for America to essentially get involved as the ottomans were getting demolished and the allied powers namely Britain and France were doing just fine.

Nah, Zimmerman Telegram and U-boats had nothing to do with it. General Smedley Butler explained US banks had loaned a lot of money to the Entente, and the US military were sent in as mafia enforcers to ensure the loans were paid back. Yes, really, he explained this in a speech.
reply

Nope. The Americans in the Southern Philippines during the 19th century dominates most on crushing any insurgency against them. Soutern natives including Muslims try to repel the American advancement through their territory but they couldn't even managed to stop it.

USA’s first overseas conflict post independence was indirectly against the Ottomans in the Barbary Wars. While this didn’t have an effect on WW1, it is an interesting piece of history. This is where the USMC gets the line to the shores of Tripoli in its hymn.

The Reason why US Didn't declare war on Ottoman Empire, It's because the US didn't feel the need to, The German Empire was the main threat for them and The Ottoman Empire had already been largely defeated by the british and the british backed arab armies
reply

I knew that the US declared war on the Central Powers only based on necessity - and that declaring war on Austria was motivated by Italy. I did NOT know about the other motivations to stay neutral with the Ottomans (Philippines, so thank you very much.

anyone else think about how both usa and ottoman empire coexisted for a while but they were like from completely different time periods, one was a liberal multi ethnic republic, and the other was basically still a feudal empire
reply

No US did not fight in the WorldWar1 with the Ottoman. Because Ottoman was fighting it would be maybe to much.
Ottoman Empire died it became new country with the name Turkey in 1923. Turks won the war finally in 1923.

reply

I find it funny that should-be enemies casually ignored each other for mutual benefit. Well it worked out greatly for the U. S. lmao. A revolt in the Philippines would have been devastating in this time period.

As a turkish, who has great-grandparents who died in WW2 and 1 and just visited their graves. I've only ONE question:
How this affect LeBron's legacy
Thanks for the answers.

The US fighting the Ottomans would have been about as pointless as China fighting the US. When an empire is collapsing in on itself, don't waste time and energy on helping it.
reply

Imagine a world where the United States has very little involvement in the middle east and its interests aren't served by deploying troops to fight there. What a dream.
reply

Not a great video. There was significant public outcry lobbying from figures such as Teddy Roosevelt calling for America to declare war on Turkey, given the Armenian genocide
reply

In short, USA had no beef with the OTTOMAN Empire, which was down for the count and too far anyway.
Here's an idea for a future video: How did Israel get nukes

reply

Why did America join the war against Austria
Answer: Luigi Cadorna was just an incompetent fool and they were too late to can him and replace with General Diaz

reply

Thank you for documenting the extremely obscure history of the Ottomsn Empire, instead of the well-known Ottoman Empire, which is confused for the Ottomsn Empire.
reply

i like how everybody in the comment section is saying here before the ottomsn empire typo gets fixed even though it's been 6 days and it's still not fixed lol
