Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, ASMR, is a tricky feeling to describe, and I can only talk about it secondhand. From what I understand from conversations with ASMRers, its a tingle in your brain, a kind of pleasurable headache that can creep down your spine. There are plenty of people out there who never heard about ASMR that we might be able to help in different ways, so its good that we can promote ASMR in a positive way so that other people who deal with sleeping problems or high levels of stress for example can give ASMR videos a shot. We got the special honour to reach out to Hermatic Kitten to shed light on AMSR and give you a asmr video through her gentle whispering. This video includes asmr sounds, asmr whisper, asmr role play. If you feel your brain tingles, do not be alarm. Also, for those who don't know, Hermatic Kitten pointed out today is also International ASMR day (April 9th) to celebrate those who engage in ASMR and to promote awareness of ASMR across the world

I experience the feeling described in this video whenever I run my nail along fabric, lick it, or sometimes imagining myself licking it, however, I think this is due to an experience I had when I was very young one time: Being as naive as I was at the age of 5 or so, I ended up licking some of the fabric on my bed sheet (I can't remember how or why, and found the feeling of it extremely displeasing. Ever since then, I've always experienced the feeling.
Does anybody think that ASMR can be related to memories? This is just my experience, and I would definitely be intrigued to see whether anybody else has/had something similar occur.

I get intense asmr when the artist alternates between whispering and soft speaking at random intervals. It also helps if the artist is speaking about a subject I like already, such as space or animals. I also have an affinity for Japanese asmr, especially Japanese trigger words. Something about the tone of voice and pronunciation of the Japanese language is very relaxing to me. I dont like mouth sounds though because I have Aspergers, from which I have certain sensory issues.

Hermit Kitten's voice is really calming, I spent the first twenty seconds after she started explaining just looking at my screen, you could say that I was kind of paralyzed, but in a good way. I felt good while watching the video, and I began to feel this tingly stuff which has been explained near the end of the video. I guess I'll go find a few whispering ASMR videos to check if it comes back. Thank you for making this!

Keep in mind though, different people find different hings soothing. While lots of people do say that ASMR does help with anxiety, there are also lots of people who just find that it doesn't help at all. It varies from person to person. I personally _don't_ find ASMR that relaxing, but I know that it does help a lot of people. If you experience ASMR, and you enjoy it, then you're lucky.

I like asmr and it's hard to explain to others which is okay because I like to experience it alone anyhow. But I have to go through a looot of videos to get any sorts of tingles and they are only in my head not my whole body. Whispers don't do much it's a bit creepy at times and I'm glad to see other people actually do get unexplainably irritated at them as well lol

All of this stuff makes me uncomfortable. especially the whispering.
I get chills not only from this, but when I'm experiencing strong thoughts and emotions. Oh and also when I can tell what people are thinking. (I swear I can read minds at times oml it's weird)
I like these videos that you guys make.

I've had it all my life, especially while sitting close to a pretty girl, nice perfume, soft voice, the intimate feeling, it gave me tingles, but it didn't happen that often. Now we have all these ASMR videos, it's fantastic!
Having my hair washed and cut is the best feeling.

I have experienced asmr a lot. My cat likes to curl up against me when I'm in bed. Petting him for a few minutes always puts me right out. I don't know if it's the petting that triggers it or the purring that starts when I do it. It could easily be both. Either way, it feels amazing!

If you were wearing headphones, you probably noticed that the voice sounded like it was outside and swirling around you. This is called 8D audio, if I'm not mistaken. It probably would have caused ASMR if I felt it, but I apparently do not.

wow thanks I'm so happy finally I found my pleasures lol
it just not to help me relief stress but to concentrate in works too
is it the same thing when u're relax being in a cafe or another places which have 'soft noises'?

reply

can I please find an explanation as to what asmr is without it BEING asmr. I want to understand it out of curiosity, but asmr videos trigger my anxiety big time. like, why do people like this? it's just creepy white noise
reply

I was worried about ASMR to begin with, i didn't know what it was, i thought it was a fetish thing or something like that, but how I know it's for relaxation, I quite like it. I just think it's fun to listen to as well

I forgot what ASMR was, and as a person with Misophonia, this triggered me A LOT. 5 seconds into the video and I had to change to the first thumbnail I saw. Anyway, all the other videos are gold. Keep it like that!

I was suggested to do ASMR videos, I do makeup videos that have voiceovers, and people keep telling me my voice is soothing. I did feel the tingling on my head while listening to this video!
reply

I may have experienced this, but im not sure. By touching my head, hearing noices, especially rain and in this video. If this is asmr, then it is really a very pleasurable feeling.
reply

ASMR just don't work to me. Instead of feeling pleased and it helping me with stress and other problems it just make me feel uncomfortable. Great vid as always, btw
reply

I'm extremely surprised seeing people comments who got uncomfortable with this video, i was kinda hypnotized hearing this, i guess i experience ASMR all the time?
reply

Hermetic Kittens voice relaxed me really much =w=
I really love hearing ASMR after a stressful schoolday or just if I want to: 3
And the art was really cute x3

Cool thing I can do: force myself to have an ASMR reaction. It only works for a certain region of my head, but it spreads if I don't think about it too much.
reply

I don't like that: / that whispers despair me: /. It's like WHY CAN'T YOU SPEAK LOUDER, PLEEEEASE, i'm not insulting anyone, i'm just giving my opinion c:
reply

Personally, I do not experience it. Whispering creeps me out and/or scares me. The tapping and crinkly noises annoy me and send me into sensory overload.
reply

ok i could only think of her annoying/scary voice on this. it was on the verge of breaking and it never did and that just makes me cringe and just ugh
reply

The best asmr is beautiful music, such as the blue Danube featured in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: a space odyssey. You can't get any better than that.
reply

what did i just watch. don't know what asmr is and didn't understand anything but i'll research that. uhm and why does she whisper so creepy omf XD
reply

I can experience the ASMR, I can feel it, but I'm not a fan of that tho.
Sometimes it makes me focus, sometimes it makes me so distracted.
