Hoh, simply hearing her essentially say a consequence of not being able to understand or deconstruct an emotion, might be binge behaviour mad me have an OH moment. I have adhd, a common symptom of which is executive disfunction and difficulty regulating emotions. I often experience phases where I'm subliminally aware that I'm feeling something, or going through something, but because it's hard to identify and thus correct, I get stuck in these little behavioural loops or ruts where I know I'm watching too much tv, on my phone too much, need to get out and get things done, but almost physically can't because in the state I'm in, it's like I only know how to keep doing what I'm already doing in the rut. Of course many factors contribute to these ruts, but I hadn't previously acknowledged how sitting on an unidentified feeling, or need for change, can stagnate you, as a means of avoiding or not being able to deal with the issue. Thanks for the vid I always appreciate new perspectives.

I have struggled all my life with uncontrollable crying. It keeps ruining my life and I dont know why or how to stop it. It mostly arises from feelings that Im a failure and someone important to me is angry with me. Ive tried journaling but I cant seem to stick to it. I recently was fired from my job as a Marketing manager over an emotional outburst and uncontrollable crying. I feel helpless to stop it. I have even thought about hypnosis as a way to find the root of my problem. Im afraid to live or be around people.

today, my friends crush told me who he likes- and it wasnt her- she was dying to know what he said so then i told her that he liked somebody (because he told me that, but i wasnt planning to tell who it was because he didnt want me to) i told her the first letter of her name, then she got confused, so she asked if it was her or not, and me- being a dumbass said no.
i'd be surprised if she is going to be friends with me after this.

Where do normal people put their negative emotions? Like when u feel angry and it feels to be physically on your body and mind, and u don't hit walls, ease it with pain or yell, where do u put it? Like if i try to distract myself or change it to some other emotion before it explodes isn't that bottleing up emotions? And then those burst in a wrong place? What is a healthy way to face negative emotions? -some c-ptsd person

I think i really need help. I can't even cry at my grandfather's funeral and i have to pretend to cry. I did feel really sad but i can't cry, that made me think that im an ungrateful grandson. And what if i can't cry at my Parents's. This might sound weird but i kinda cut off emotions when i don't need them so i always have a dead fish face.
P/s. Im only 17 rn

I feel so angry at myself for letting myself be treated so badly. I put myself there because of my saviour complex. I don't want anything to do with him anymore. I am frustrated at myself for needing so much attention from him. He is probably just busy with school and I am the one who told him I would like time to myself tonight. Why am I so angry!

I have some problems with my emotions in past, I thought it's to difficult to handle, but when I saw some disables being happy in there life with the flaws I started to work on myself, now I'm confident that I am, I don't know from where that experience being so important, there're more things I have overlooked & now I feel happy to what I did.

Learning all this usefull stuff, helps me grow mature mentally. I want to be a physcologist when I grow up and help people with their problems so they can live a happy life. I really needed this video because I CAN'T control my emotions. When I'm angry, I start to cry and I don't know why. Now I know I need to seek a meaning behind my emotions.

1. What am i feeling?
2. Why do i feel this way?
3. Is there anything i could of done differently to better manage this feeling? (If not and if it concerns someone else, talk to them about or get someones elses opinion to help clarify things)
Also you need to learn to accept emotions and let them inhabit you.

How to recognize and deconstruct your emotions
1. Ask yourself, what am i feeling?
2. When did I start feeling that way?
3. What caused this feeling?

reply

I do a lot of writing to be in touch with my emotions and specifically with trauma which is something that I'm more recently delt with & also meditation especially for sleep but also during the day
