Some people are born with an innate streak of confidence whilst others take time to develop confidence as they develop from children into adults. Here's how you stop negative self-talk. You say Screw norms. Who cares if you're normal or different. What's wrong with being different? What's wrong with not being so-called normal. If we have to match standards to be both normal and noble, well, that's just wrong. I was jealous of everyone for years because of my insecurities and weaknesses. But then I made a New Year resolution to end it, because I realized something. I do not believe in society anymore.
I'm 27, still live at home, having never moved out. I have never had a girlfriend or a date, and I don't even have a driver's license. I have both a learning disability and ASD, and sometimes I say unfiltered things or act weird in social moments. I assume my ASD makes me less normal. I don't have too many friends now that I've graduated from college and most of my friends have left town. My coworkers all seem to fit in; I usually stand out. I used to feel like a misfit at work, but now I realize that it's not a big deal. It's just they're not my people, they're each other's only. If my ASD makes them not like me enough, that's their problem. Sure, I don't have a great filter, but it doesn't define me; nobody is perfect. I don't care if people find me weird or annoying. I don't care that my both my sisters have boyfriends and started dating at 16 while I've always been single. I don't care that I can't drive. I don't care that I appear dopey because of my learning disability. I don't care that I graduated high school at TWENTY. I don't care that I seem slow and helpless and do better with a guide than by myself (my boss basically said that to my face. I don't care that I still live with my mom. I don't care that I went to a small charter school than the superior public school that has many more activities, adventures, and organizations. I don't care about any of my weaknesses; I still have confidence in myself. It doesn't matter what others think of me, it's what I think of myself that matters. I will never fall for society's tricks again; society is buIIshit, and that would explain our government and political leaders. I say SCREW NORMS! I am absolutely fine the way I am, I say confidently. I am not a loser. A disabled man who doesn't match standards, yes, but not a loser.

I compared myself a lot to others mostly after I moved to a new place and started having social Media. Which completely destroyed my self esteem. I suddenly became more quieter and less out going. First because I wasnt familiar with the new language. But also cause I couldnt relate with other students. It felt so different from what I was used to. School felt suffocating and I hated it as I grew up. I was signed as the quiet kid. I distracted myself with those lonely emotions through watching videos. I had no confidence in myself, without realising time quickly flew by. Suddenly in 8th grade I had find a apprenticeship. I had to find a place to work at. I had to think of what I wanted to do in the future. I had no clue what to do. At last moment I chose to go to an Art school, cause I was interested in Art and I loved drawing. After next week I am gonna finish my Art school. I have met so many great and amazing people. Whom I aspire to be. I had fun and self reflected on myself. My mindset changed a little. I became more confident in myself and I also made some amazing friends, who had similar goal and mindset as me. I learnt to be more grateful of those around me and care for me. Though still today I do compare myself to others and am hate myself at times. But I am trying to be better. I am trying to take time to know myself and care for myself more. I am very thankful for everyone that spent time and supported me through all the years. So I am going to try hard to reach my goals and pay them back for supporting me. I want to try to get out of my comfort zone and do all the thinks, which I hesitated and didnt do in the past.

I have a really hard time thinking Im not good enough to do certain things or that if I try I wont succeed. For example I have a drivers test coming up and whenever I think about it my mind immediately goes to an area where I feel too nervous that Ill fail. But after watching this video I thought to myself that I know that Im a good driver and that I have the ability to pass this test. Literally thinking to yourself that you can do it and truly believing in your ability actually does help. It may have been one instance but I literally already feel better about this circumstance Im in. I know I can do this and you should know that you can do and accomplish whatever obstacle it is youre trying to accomplish. Just repeat it to yourself and truly believe it, because deep down you know that you can do it

I was a really confident kid, until middle school i was known for my speaking skills. I am in high school, class 10th now (sophomore year, and i have absolutely lost my confidence. I remember i once i had to speak in front of an audience of 200 people, and i prepared my speech in one night, and i spoke on the stage fearlessly. Now im at a point where even speaking in front of the camera makes me shake. And the worst part is my best friend in high school is known for how excellent her speaking skills are. She's considered by everyone, and because we are friends, we are always compared. She's also really good at academics, and that too makes me feel inferior. I feel like I'll be stuck under her shadow, and i hate that. I really wish i could bring my confident self back. I miss her every day.

To people in the comment section who finally found their self worth, did it take you years to finally have that kind of self respect?
Because up until now I have all of these signs and it's really hard to cope with it. I keep blaming for bad things that happen to myself and for the mistakes I've done from the past even if it was already done a long time ago. I've never really smiled for awhile because that mistake kept popping on my head. I'm aware of what I should do in order to cope with this but it seems like it isn't really working. How did y'all overcome it? I'm a teenager with parents who aren't that much privileged financially.

I don't want to be that guy but this really hurts. Im 24 now and now that I think about, I have lost my confidence ever since I was little. It hurts on how much hurt I put on myself cause of past traumas that made me lose my confidence. At times I feel enraged, sad and confused on how I became the way I am now and I still struggle with it. This hurts me deep in my body, mind and soul cause I always thought something was wrong with me. It was only what happened to me from all those traumas that make me the way I am. It really hurts and I'm tired yet I'm somehow happy I got to see this video. Thank you.

This is a tip that took lots of practice. Breathe in, and pretend that and is taking in all the negative vibes, negative thoughts, and anxiety. Breath out and focus on your breathe. Do it one more time to clear out all the other stuff, and remind yourself that
1. You are a human being
2. You deserve so much
3. You are worthy of so many things
4. We all have our good days and bad days
5. Feeling are always temporary, but they will always come back
6. I can't do EVERYTHING, but I can do so much
hope this helps

As every animal is unique and have their own different abilities in them such as we can't compare with right?
So just like this each human being is also unique and different in their own selves.
So pls don't ever compare urself with others and don't think about people, they r not going to give u better life or they r not going to fulfill demands so stay happy, have fun and enjoy life caz God has given it to us just for 1
We are not going to have a life as a human over n over

These days, i really lose my confidence sooo much. i think too much about what others might say or think about me. which actually things i couldn't control TT
I hope i could shine again with my own unique personality.
To those who is struggling like me, fighting, you're not alone & you're worthy.

I feel like out of all these habits, Ruminating is the worst one of mostly because l often find myself focusing on past mistakes that already happened and when its a new day, l find myself thinking over and over that it's going to happen again. I am going to do my best to fix that.

Its weird for me because I know Im not ugly or stand out all that much but when ever I go out side I feel like everyone is watching me judging me I find my self stalling for time or change into different outfits multiple times trying to find something thats not their
reply

This actually relates to me alot. I feel less confident of my abilities and myself.
I seem to care what others think. I always repeat my mistakes or regrets in my head. Or not to sure to say something cause i don't want people giving me that weird look.

reply

One small feedback would be to provide a little detail on how to improve ourselves from these mistakes
For eg, instead of saying. Say this. Because some people tend to make the mistakes you mentioned but can't help themselves from improving it

damnit im guilty of 6 of these. yet i still think my confidence can be better if i become good looking so thats my stride. time to become hot. i conquered my emotions now i can conquer my confidence. my body and mind will become my slaves.

Tonight, I'm thinking of breaking up with my boyfriend. We're on a Long distance relationship, I feel like I'll just disappoint him. I feel like I'm not worth his love, he deserves better. I don't even feel like I deserve happiness

This video put me to tears since I have never heard such beautiful words in a video like this one. I watched a couple of others as well today. I am still working on doubts about my capabilities and what I can do for my future.

I always felt negative about myself like I used to write negative and meaningless stuff in my diary, sometimes blaming others, dismissing compliments, and saying negative things to myself and you helped me a lot, thank psy2go

I 've always had negative-thinking but every time I said to myself '' I can't do this'' ''what if I fail I'm not good enough for this'' I'II always try to make myself happy with watching cat videos and that helps so much
