To be frank, I am very mature. Even my family and friends say so.
1- Shut up
I only say it with my siblings or as a satire when goofing around with my comrades.
2- Whatever.
I, myself, absolutely abhor it when the contrarian says 'whatever' only to nullify all the reasonings you gave to support your arguments. Itadditionallydisplays carelessness and antipathy for others; it is wholly biased.
3- You're not my mom.
I NEVER say 'you're not my mom' to anybody. It doesn't even come to mind, for that matter. It's not indispensable for only your mom to care for you; why even have friends then? Why ask them if they care when fighting or whatsoever? Because they aren't your mom, are they?
4- I don't feel like it.
I've recently begun to desist saying it and am getting used to it now, honestly. Rather, I just give reasoning as to why I don't feel like it.
5- Why can't you do it?
I simply and straight-fowardly reject them by saying 'No' or by giving a candid reason why.
6- Always/Never
I, honestly, just learnt that I'm better off abstaining from saying it. Not that I randomly commit to people by saying it without meaning it; I just say it when I actually FEEL it. I won't anymore nevertheless, because you never know what's written in your fate.

I dont think Im mature as I could be, but I definitely think that these things have contexts. Especially I dont feel like it, at least in terms of things that you know youll get around to eventually, but are too tired/overloaded/busy to do at the moment. I think equating it with maturity also disproportionately affects procrastinators. While it might be the case the procrastination is often seen as immaturity, I know a lot of very mature people who are awful procrastinators and immature people who arent. I think the phrase would be more realistic as a sign of immaturity if the implication is that you dont want to do it, so other people will. But even then, I think it can definitely be more mature to realize that you dont have the capacity to do it, and someone else needs to help you out. Especially with the current canon, I think that totally ignoring or not acknowledging your feelings is also pretty immature. Probably acknowledging feelings, then planning on how to get it done anyway would be the most mature thing, whether that means doing it yourself or relying on social support. Kind of ramble-y though, lol.

I'm so glad i saw this video, I can tell that I haven't used any of these phrases. I was always used to do things that i had to because of my own peace of mind, I let others tell their arguments. maybe that's more because i rather listen then speak, And even there was some moments when i was a little bit furious because it seemed for me that i'm doing all completely wrong, i said to myself that they just want to do it for my own good, I'm not using whatever. but i remember momentss when i was talking with some people and they used it. And when some people asked me to do something i do it, because i believe that it will comeback to me some day back from someone. I really glike the video! Great work, again i discovered something new for me!

It's not even mature to overstep boundaries at all. Let people keep their boundaries even when they're disrespectful (I am NOT condoning disrespect. I am just saying that there are better ways to discipline your kids, like speaking with AUTHORITY.
My mom bullied me into not having boundaries and I had a history of people (friends AND family) taking advantage of me. I even had a crystal addict following me around calling me his friend but he just wants my money.
Nobody should have to relearn boundaries at a late age.
Toxic parents overstep boundaries

I am guilty of always and never and its actually because I am angry. But when I am angry its because someone crossed my boundaries, and its normal to be immature when we are emotional. Its human nature, and its not about mental health too. Its behaviours that humans share within another to socialize, emotions can be difficult to manage and cope with in many situations.
But also, being immature will make you more mature. Experiences dont just happen, you have to actively seek it.
Anyhow, thanks for reading it all

Umm what about people who dont see past their ignorance? They build this map to navigate through world it seems The moment you start a sentence trying to tell them about whats on your mind, they will finish it for you, assume whats on your mind, fish out a shitty 'life advice' for you, and be on their way! Meanwhile you are there with your unfinished sentence. I laugh at this now but sometimes it grinds my gears

Personally saying Whatever in a conversation is either my way of admitting I'm wrong because I'm stubborn and wont admit it right away (I will eventually be okay admitting it once I'm over the fact that I was wrong or over the heat of the argument)
or my way of getting into saying it doesn't matter cause I don't believe them anyways and I know neither of us are gonna stop.

I'll be honest I never claimed to be a mature person. I'm just independent. But day by day I try a little harder. Each time though. Every first step also feels like a step backwards to. It's like walking in a circle. I feel as though I'm walking forward towards a better future but then a looped back to the beginning and start the process all over again. I'm not proud of it.

These felt really obvious hearing them, but when I think about it, I know many adults that do these things. Also, I sometimes use always/never when I don't mean it literally. I think I use these words the way an immature person might swear for emphasis (attention.
But it does say a lot about the people in attracted to yellow/red flags I never thought about

So I understand many try to use the Your not my mother remarks as their comebacks but when I play games with chats enabled, but also people can say You're not my dad etc. and also tends to use nerd emoji as a way to say as a comeback but towards other people's perspectives, the most immature way to handle information that they couldn't handle.

Yeah, my mom uses those phrases all the time when she fights with my dad or is just generally angry. It gets on my nerves and makes me want to leave the place in general (but I cant cause I cant drive and shes way too overprotective of me to let me go outside by myself) I really cant wait for her to get out of my life.

Mature people don't say whatever?
I guess Archie Bunker was very immature, because he was always using that expression whenever someone (usually his wife, Edith) corrected him, especially about the family minister:
Archie: Well, you tell ya Reverend Fletcher.
Edith: Feltcher, Archie.
Archie: Whatever!

When a couple, or a wee group gets together to squabble, I've found that if you walk straight into the middle of the fray, stand straight and still. This puzzles them. Then you speak in a strong firm voice and state Enough Now! Just wanted to note what a Scottish Granny WOULD say. LOL

why can't you do it? Is actually a good way to get people with a holier than you attitude off your back. Like those relatives that keep telling you that you should spend your time helping the relative that tormented you for years but they won't offer any help themselves.

Shut up can be used in conjuction with other ends to be much better than the phrase itself. Along the lines of please. shut up. I dont wanna talk about this anymore. this went from a good talk to a nagging contest and im just sick of this.

Theres also using general phrases like everyone or no one that immature people can use out of anger because its not correct as they dont really know everyone. They shouldnt group everyone to justify their lack of emotional regulation.

I don't feel like it for me is the Oposit, its a sign of maturity.
I'm fed of ppl making up excuses for not doing something that if someone say I don't want to or i dont feel like it it will earn a lot of points with me.

It depends on intent. For example, as two other commenters said, those of us with disabilities often really dont feel like doing something precisely because we arent up to it or even cant do it. We know our limits.

Haha, my Ex did at least three of these. It was super frustrating. Not only are these things immature, but it's an effective and quick way to get someone to stop trying to have a relationship with you.

I'm selectively mature and I act different around different people. Often, people think I am much older. I dont know if that is a good or bad thing. I can also be quite childish

#2 is a tough one. I hate folk that constantly WHINE and complain ALL THE TIME and a whole bunch of loud nonsense when you clearly show that you're NOT interested.

You guys should start uploading less often but have good content like you did some years ago. These videos feel like they're straight out of gossip magazines.
